I made reservation.but the hostel did not allow me enter the building.I did nothing bad in other hostel. I don’t think a good hostel will refuse the guest enter the hostel.
This honestly would have been a really nice stay except for one major issue! One of the workers at the front desk (the man with red in his eye) overcharged me for my stay. After 2 nights we had to change rooms and I was asked to pay then. I was led to believe I was paying for the next night but then I was told I still needed to pay more. I demanded a receipt and they wouldn’t give me one. the whole thing was done in cash and after I paid and realized the error the man became immediately shady.

We had the feeling that this place is overrated. Everything was okay but not good enough that we would recommend it to anyone. The shared bathroom is tiny and overall cleanliness could have been better. The vibe is non-existent, there was very few people and it is not super easy to meet people. The place is very old and a lot of facilities have seen better times. What we did enjoy was the backyard and that you can play pool for free.
Only stayed for one night but it was fine. The location is easy to use as a base to get around Quito.
nice hostal for a night or 2 and the garden is super nice to chill. We could store our bags there during our amazon trip, which was nice ! breakfast for 3$ was fine, you just have to order it a night before and if you dont they is no breakfast. Laundry was a bit disappointing, 2$ per kilo and some of my stuff was still wet.

Es.un hostel para estar alguna noche de paso ubicado en los bordes extremos del centro histórico de Quito, en una calle que el personal del Hostel recomienda no andar por ella más allá de las 20. Si bien hay tres cocinas, la del piso donde yo estuve no estaba muy equipada y debía bajar a buscar lo que faltaba, por ejemplo la cafetera. No hay agua caliente sino una ducha eléctrica bastante precaria

such a beautiful family run home. incredibly helpful, friendly and i felt completely safe to leave my things behind while we were out and about. we will be returning here when we go back to Quito. the kind of place that you WANT to give them business ❤️
We had a really nice stay here, the staff are so welcoming and knowledgeable so its perfect for a first stop in ecuador. Breakfast is really nice for 3.5$ and location is great near a bus stop and the old town.

The perfect hostel to just relax for a couple days. Hot showers, free towels, 3.5 kitchens, books hammocks, and a huge garden. This place has everything but the party so it was exactly what I wanted. Close to the center but just far enough to be very quiet 24/7. It's a little annoying to have to ring the door bell every time but worth it for everything else. Such a hidden gem
The staff are super helpful and kind, definitely get the $3.50 breakfast too, it’s delicious and super filling! Great location and facilities too, I would definitely stay here again, amazing value

Amazing hostel, we felt like part of the family here. The room was great, there’s a little gym out the back, WiFi is good, breakfast is tasty and a huge portion. Muchas gracias amigos!
A wonderful stay. Ornelia was such a lovely and helpful presence, she made it feel like home. Room was very clean and bed was comfortable. Only issue was a lack of warm water — only cold or scalding hot on some days, but still very worth the stay. Would come back again!

Une petite amélioration nécessaire peut-être à mon avis, serait l'humidité sur les murs d'une des chambres. Je suis asthmatique et cela n'était pas idéal mais pour quelques jours il n'y a pas eu de problème. Sinon il y a aussi Luna, le chien de la famille qui est adorable, ainsi que un des meilleurs cafés que j'ai bu. Excellent ! Merci! :)
I recommend ! the staff is really superb! especially Matéo, thank you for your help! a very warm welcome and a superb atmosphere ! a small improvement perhaps needed in my opinion, would be the humidity on the walls of one of the rooms. i am asthmatic and it was not ideal but for a few days there was no problem. otherwise there is also luna, the family dog who is adorable, as well as one of the best coffees i have ever had. excellent ! thank you! :)
This is by far the best hostel I have ever visited. I felt so welcome and the staff and familiy was so kind. They helped us arange day tours, and wawede us goodbye🥺. And our hearts got stolen not only by the family but by Luna, the precious angel dog. And also the laundry service was perfect, we got it back after like 2 hours and it was foldede to perfection, and smelled soo nice. And also, they had a bonfire with marshmallows and amazing bread. I will come back here. Yummy breakfast
Wir waren dort 7 Nächte und es hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr nett, Borys hat uns mit allem sehr geholfen und uns sehr viele hilfreiche Tipps gegeben für unsere Weiterreise. Ist ein großes Hostel, sehr nett eingerichtet, hat einen großen friedlichen Garten, der für eine Großstadt ein Segen ist. 2 Küchen, gratis Kaffee den ganzen Tag und alles was sonst das Herz begehrt. Können es nur empfehlen!
We stayed there for 7 nights and we enjoyed it very much. the staff are very nice, borys helped us with everything and gave us many useful tips for our further journey. is a large hostel, very nicely furnished, has a large peaceful garden, which is a blessing for a big city. 2 kitchens, free coffee all day and everything else the heart desired. can only recommend it!
Super nettes Personal, aber ich war komplett alleine im Hostel. Nichts mit Community oder ähnlichem. Als Alleinreisender würde ich es nicht empfehlen. Habe schlussendlich die Unterkunft gewechselt.
Super netes Personal, but I was completely alone in the Hostel. nothing with Community or anything like that. as a Solo Traveler I wouldn't recommend it. ended up changing the Accommodation.
Relaxed and quiet homey vibe. I liked the kitchen/common room area and got to talking with other guests there. There are a lot of wifi networks so it can be hard to make a call because your phone will keep switching if you move, and wifi signal was weak in the dorm. Dorm was also a bit musty and cold. Located near the centro historico but up a steep road.
Sehr gemütliches, charmantes Hostel. Viel Platz, mehrere Aufenthaltsräume und ein großer Garten, den ich sehr zum Yoga machen und in der Sonne frühstücken geliebt habe. Das Personal ist mega sweet und neben den geretteten Vögeln, gibt es ein Kaninchen und einen Welpen. Die Küche ist groß und sauber, es gibt einen Wasserfilter und Bananen für alle :) Ich hab mich super wohl gefühlt und würde jederzeit wieder kommen !!
Cozy, charming hostel. Plenty of space, several guest rooms and a large garden, which I have very much used for yoga and loved to have breakfast in the sun. The personal is very sweet and besides the rescued birds, there is a Rabbit and a puppy. The kitchen is large and clean, there is a water filter and bananas for everyone:) I have felt great and would come back anytime !!
Ein sehr gemütliches und süsses Hostel. Das Frühstück ist richtig gut und das Personal richtig freundlich und hilfsbereit! Es ist nicht ganz soooo viel los aber dafür ein wenig persönlicher und man ist auch schnell in Gegenden, wo mehr läuft :)
The breakfast is really good and the staff really friendly and helpful! it's not quite sooo much but a little more personal and you're also quick in areas where more runs :)
A lovely place quiet, clean, and close to everything you need. Kitchen at disposition, billard, garden, hamacs, shower with hot water... You will feel like home in the middle of the city, thanks for everything
J’ai beaucoup aimé mon séjour au Colonial House Inn ! J’ai apprécié le jardin, son espace de sport, le billard et une soirée devant la télé du grand salon. Les peintures murales et les nombreuses plantes rendent l’hostel très agréable. Le personnel est toujours présent et très bienveillant. Le centre-ville est à 15 minutes à pied, très pratique. Je recommande vivement !
I enjoyed my stay at the Colonial House Inn very much! i enjoyed the garden, its sports area, billiards and an evening in front of the TV in the great living room. the murals and the many plants make the hostel very pleasant. the staff is always present and very friendly. the city center is a 15 minute walk away, very convenient. i highly recommend !
Only one night. Decent overall.
