Guembe Al Rio Hostel

The bathroom was very dirty and stinked a lot because there where no windows. The pool was not filled with water (unlike in the fotos), which is why you couldnt even use it. The breakfast contained just a few pieces of banana bread which is far to less for a lot of people (they also didnt refill it). The kitchen was not well equiped and also very dirty (maggots in a drawer). The air conditioning didnt work as well and you couldnt close the door to the balcony to the fullest. Not recommended!

As reviewed before by other travelers, this was the worst hostel and we have stayed in a lot of hostels before. We booked the hostel for 3 nights, but only stayed for one. Unfortunately, we had to sleep besides mice or rats? and cockroaches were all over the place. Instead of six beds as booked, we had 10 beds in our room. Only one bathroom was available for females and males. The bathroom had no place or surfaces to store towels/clothes/etc. First they wanted to refund us the money for the canc...

Staff is very friendly to you right until you need to check out and leave your luggage. They charge money just for stalling it, and when you return they make up some excuse on how you did a ‘late check-out’ and need to pay up even more just for being on the property. I emptied the room perfectly at the time agreed upon. What do you want me to do, book another night? Just for waiting on my flight? Would not recommend, they are only after draining your wallet here.

We booked a 5 person dorm and they put us into an 8 person room upstairs, the windows did not close fully so we were attack by mosquitoes all nigh and there were geckos running across the roof making alot of noise during the night. The AC did not work either in our room making it a very hot and hard to fall asleep. The hostel was fairly clean overall however, the bathroom could use some maintenance. I would recommend getting a private room for anyone who stays here

receptionists are helpful and nice! swimming pool is great. breakfast is bread, butter and jam. beds are quite squeacky. a bit of attention shoukd be put into controlling noisy people or setting some rules about making a lot of noise and turning on lights after 23h. lacks an interior common space. all in all, good for a couple of days, esoecially due to swimming pool!!!

Worst hostel I have stayed in. I booked for two nights and only stayed for one. The receptionist on arrival was rude and gave no information about the hostel, town or how to visit the falls, no power plugs at each bed, lockers were damaged/difficult to secure, final straw was the showers. Poorly designed - nowhere to hang anything in the shower and not enough space to keep anything in there dry. They had hooks on the outside but these couldn't be accessed without leaving the shower stall.

Lo positivo: el lugar es muy lindo, las habitaciones amplias y los colchones muy cómodos. La atención de los chicos recepcionistas es inigualable, son re atentos, amables y predispuestos. Lo negativo: es evidente q al lugar le falta bastante mantenimiento. En especial el agua caliente. y algo a mejorar definitivamente es el desayuno q es infimo. Si solo pensas usar el hotel para dormir o descansar este hotel es ideal y te lo recomiendo.

Personnel peu sympathique ni enclin à aider. Dans notre chambre un des lits était juste au dessous de l’air conditionné et un des lits superposé n’avait plus son échelle. La piscine bien que très belle est sale. Idem pour les douches dont certaines sont en pannes et il n’est pas possible de régler la température de l’eau. Enfin, la cuisine est infestée de fourmis et la moitié des poêles et casseroles sont fondues.

Peaceful single room with balcony with clothes drying rack looking down on to a pool.

Being the cheapest hostel we could find in Puerto Iguazú, we think it was all right. The biggest downside was that it was not clean at all, and everything was very old and worn out. Especially kitchen was disgusting, we still managed to cook in it though. I will say the pool is big and nice, and many areas to chill in. Being as cheap as it is, I would recommend.

Wifi wasn’t working on upper level. Lower level wifi cuts in and and and had a bad connection. Staff didn’t care. Other then that the hostel is okay

I have been there for two nights. Super close to the bua terminal to go to the falls. The guy at the reception was a big help for me, he managed my trip to the airport of Ciudad de Elste which was quiet an adventure. Worth the money at all!

Muy buena ubicación? 👌 a 2 cuadras de la fheriña. Muy cordial el personal, y todo limpio siempre.

excelente ubicacion y atencion de todo el personal. Desayuno basico pero efectivo. Pileta divina. La cocina es el unico punto a mejorar. La pasamos super.

El personal amable y atento. La habitación estaba bien y limpia, pero tenía varias cucarachas y los toallones que nos dieron estaban viejos y gastados. El desayuno es muy básico. A la cocina le faltan utensillos, equipamiento.

Zwei Punkte, die für mich das Hostel hervorheben sind, dass Sebastian sehr gut Englisch spricht und mir viel geholfen hat! Der ganze Staff ist sehr freundlich. Und der Garten mit dem kleinen Pool und den Hängematten lud gerade an heißen Tagen nach den Ausflügen zum Relaxen ein. Der ganze Aufenthalt in Puerto de Iguazu hat mir sehr gut gefallen.

Does the job but nothing flash. Hot water is hit and miss.

The hostel had ants which were on top of our food, the kitchen is not so comfortable to use (it’s a bit unclean and there aren’t enough dishes) The shower was pretty cold and the curtains in our room were smaller than the window so there was a lot of light in the morning.

Grand hostel for a night or two, nothing special but it's fine. Cold water in shower. Pool was nice. Staff helpful and friendly. 5 min walk into the main area. AC in room worked fine.
