- Faptul ca nu a fost clarificat de la început detalii, ca pot veni și fete în camera. Ca dulapurile nu au lacăt, ca mirosea și neplăcut. Prețul prea mare la ce oferea! În dimineața zilei de sâmbătă am părăsit locația și am mers la Casa Pasteur, unde am plătit 160 de lei pe noapte, cu condiții impecabile. Dacă rămâneam la prima cazare, nu aveam aceleași condiții. Gazda a fost foarte iritata când mi- am cerut dreptul de a-mi recupera banii pentru o noapte nepetrecuta la ei. Acolo nu merita sa meargă nimeni!!!

- Mocskosság, penész és rozsda volt mindenhol.Hideg volt a termosztát nem ment.Nem tudtunk a szálláson aludni, egy putrihoz hasonlítanám.
- Das Bett war voll mit Bettwanzen, eine Stornierung ging nur telefonisch, ich habe das Hotel wechseln müssen und bis heute noch immer keine Info ob ich das Geld zurück bekomme

- Nici un indicator care sa te ajute sa gasesti locatia-avand in vedere ca strada pe care este situat Hostelul nu are acces cu masina.Pretul nejustificat pentru conditiile oferite.Miros de mucegai la intrarea in cladire,peretii scoroziti, scari de lemn deteriorate,in camera curatenia lasa de dorit.Am gasit intr-un bol de pe etajera ,hartii de bomboane.

- Problem #1 I HAVE VIDEO EVIDENCE OF THIS. I arrived at 22:00 there was noone at reception (not a problem). I went straight to my room. Immediately the LOUD MUSIC FROM A GUEST (not sure he was a guest, he walked around like he ACTUALLY OWNED the place) started. Then the music started AGAIN AT 1:00 A CLOCK IN THE MORNING AND CONTINUE until 1:46. Then the music stopped and other noises (doors/kitchen continued) past 2:20 A.M. Loud talking on the phone STARTED AGAIN at 3:00 A.M. I left my room to talk with this MAN that was just walking around the reception/his room/bathroom/kitchen BUT HE WOULDN'T STOP TO TALK TO ME. All while slamming doors and making all kind of noises. HE WAS DEFINITELY DOING IT ON PURPOSE!!! He looked sane and sober. It seems like NOBODY ELSE WAS IN THE BUILDING because noone complained/moved. I contacted the phone number and of course nobody replied (maybe because it was past 1 in the morning). Problem #2 I had a private room, which is accessible with a pass code on the door (ok). BUT THE DOOR DIDN'T LOCK FROM THE INSIDE. THE CODE IS THE SAME USED TO ACCESS THE BUILDING. It felt weird even before problem #1. How do I know nobody else knows the code & can come in at any time? This is 2025 and I'm not trying to d!e in a foreign country. P.S: I left at 9 in the morning and the noisy "guest" was at the reception acting like a NORMAL PERSON with male staff (?). I got a reply from the contact number past 4 A.M. saying I should call if I wanted anything. I've been coming to Cluj since 2012, I've stayed at multiple accommodations (high/low end). At a point I even stayed for 2/3 weeks at Retro Hostel, that's why I booked, because I had a good experience before. BUT NEVER EVER, EVER AGAIN!!
+ După ce am discutat cu o persoana de la Booking am fost sunat si îndrumat cum sa dau drumul la calorifer deoarece avea sigilat artizanal robinetul.
- Nu era cald în camera, igrasie prin anumite locuri și mai ales la baie, caloriferul din baie era rece nu am putut face baie. Lenjeria era într-o stare jalnică, uzată, ruptă, prosoapele pătate. Din acest motiv am fost nevoit sa îmi cumpăr cearceaf de pat și fete de perne.

- The room is very small bad ventilation in the room & WC bed mattress you feel like you are in prison I asked to change the room or get refund but the staff said you just get what you have no refund

- Pero demasiado ruido,musica muy alta de los locales cercanos y hasta altas horas de la madrugada.....imposibilidad de dormir en toda la noche.
- Propreté horrible et donne sur la rue avec le bar en face

The Personal was very friendly and helpful. The Kitchen Had everything you need and they supplied you with (good) Coffee and Tea. Not the best Hostel to socialise, more a quiet chilled Place. But in total quite nice
The hostel is fine, check in is completely digital, and there is no real social atmosphere going on. The room was decent, beds were old and squeaky and there was no privacy curtain. The location is great however
Fantástico!! Han pensado en cada detalle, hay indicaciones claras en todo momento. Destaco la amabilidad y diligencia del propietario. Todo es fácil y práctico en este sitio. Pude dejar mi maleta mucho antes del check in y beber una excelente taza de café.
Fantastic!! they have thought out every detail, there are clear indications at all times. i highlight the kindness and diligence of the owner. everything is easy and practical on this site. i was able to leave my suitcase long before check in and drink an excellent cup of coffee.
Sehr schöne Unterkunft! Das Gebäude ist schön, sauber und hat einen sehr heimeligen Vibe. Das Personal ist auch sehr nett und die Lage in einer schönen ruhigen Gegend im Zentrum. Die Betten quietschen leider sehr laut bei jeder Bewegung, was beim Schlafen stört.
Very nice accommodation! the building is beautiful, clean and has a very homely vibe. the staff is also very neat and the location in a nice quiet area in the center. the beds quieten very loudly with every movement, which was a hindrance to sleeping.
Loved my stay at Retro - staff are only around for the morning, but were very friendly and helpful. I stayed in a private single room with shared bathroom - excellent shower! The only things I would change were the door code system - it wasn't clear that each person got their own code (I think!) so having the same one for the front door and bedroom made me feel a bit unsettled as a woman staying alone. It would also be nice to have a towel for drying plates in the kitchen.

Cet établissement n'est pas vraiment un hostel, mais plutôt un regroupement de chambres types Airbnb : il n'y a pas de service d'accueil fonctionnel, la personne qui active notre code d'entrée se trouve à distance et ne peut être jointe que par téléphone et uniquement langue roumaine. La femme de ménage a essayé de nous aider mais elle n'avait pas le pouvoir de générer un code elle-même. Ceci n'est pas un service digne. Juste du business sans les qualités minimum d'accueil. A évite...
This establishment is not really a hostel, but rather a grouping of Airbnb-type rooms: there is no functional reception service, the person who activates our entry code is located remotely and can only be reached by phone and only in Romanian language. The maid tried to help us but she did not have the power to generate a code herself. This is not a worthy service. Just business without the minimum qualities of reception. To avoid !!!
Pretty solid hostel- I’d stay there again def worth it for the location- I was there in March so there was like no one there lol but love Cluj napoca!!
+ All the spaces were very clean and comfortable, and the atmosphere in the hostel was really pleasant and relaxing. The staff were incredibly polite, helpful, and welcoming. The location is very central, with plenty of options for food and coffee just a few minutes away. The host welcomed me with a coffee, which instantly made me feel at home. I would definitely choose to stay there again.

- Das Zimmer war kalt. Die Temperatur des Heizkörpers konnte man nicht einstellen 18°C wenn draußen minus Grade herrschen ist zu wenig

+ Rooms were not cleaned, brushed or moped for weeks (at least this was the look. A lot of dust and unclean areas, the bathrooms upstairs unclean.
- The location, the openness of the staff when they were present .
+ Very nice people, they let me store my luggage there during the day for no extra payment. They brought my phone when i forgot it in the room and they offered me coffee. Although small, very nice to have the shower and bathroom, inside the room.
- Would be good to know if you have a very heavy troller like a did, to avoid the rooms at the last floor. Also, for a tall person i felt a bit claustrophobic, but over all a very ingenious way of fitting all amenities in one small space.
There are no lockers for your stuff… there’s also no curtains on the beds. there’s also not really a common room to hang out in. it’s very so-so. overall, it was fine, but i probably wouldn’t stay there again
