Booked a room with a private ensuite and even after showing my reservation to the staff, they told me I did not book a private ensuite. I had already paid cash by the time they showed me my room. They refused to refund me or provide different accommodations. I was a bit shocked by the staffs unapologetic and cold response. As a solo female, this did not make me feel safe. Do not recommend.

Worst hostel I have ever stayed at!!! Staff we SO rude. The double room we couldn’t even fit our bags inside it because there was only about 10cm either side of the double bed to walk around it!!! And then we got charged 90GTQ for a rip on the shower curtain when we didn’t even use the shower!!!!! An absolute rip off. Would not recommend!

We stayed in a private room which was very loud! Staff were surprisingly unfriendly and didn’t really say much. There was no backpacking atmosphere either which was odd. Facilities are good. We stayed at somos for 3 nights and wish we had stayed more there! They offer discounts to local businesses and the hostel itself is nicer/easier to meet people. Overrated and pricey at this hostel, look elsewhere if you can! Don’t be fooled by the awards…

Beautiful building with great build quality, beds were actually very comfortable. I would have slept better with air con but at least they had a fan. I was however annoyed that I didn’t get the included breakfast before my volcanoe hike as the staff got up to late/hungover to serve it before my 7:30 pick up leaving me very hungry

The driver I booked through them did not show up to the airport and I waited for over an hour. I was made to pay $90USD a driver who didn’t show up (plus $18 for the bus I ended up getting), I later was able to get back $45USD. I ended up being charged over $200USD for 3 nights in an 8 bed dormitory despite my invoice from the website only being $57. I did thorough research to try to stay somewhere safe and this place has amazing reviews but my experience here was scary and expensive ):

Terrible hostel, a lot of noise, showers not working, staff was unhelpful and very pricey. There are much better alternatives and less costly like Barbara’s I don’t understand the high rating

Honestly - avoid avoid avoid. Sure it's a pretty hostel, but that doesn't matter so much when the rooms are so unbearably hot it means you can't sleep. This was in a private - can't imagine the situation in a dorm. Had booked to go back after the volcano but firmed the $ loss as couldn't deal with the lack of air flow in the rooms again. Much better accom in town.

Overhyped hostel. Incredibly unpleasant staff, I thought I was the only one but reading through reviews it seems to be a pattern of behaviour. In addition to being rude, staff members made several of the girls feel uncomfortable, with weird stares and comments. Save your money and go elsewhere!

Ich war nur eine Nacht da und kann daher lediglich das Zimmer und die anderen Räume bewerten. Das Zimmer hatte kein Fenster und war dementsprechend sehr dunkel, es war direkt gegenüber von der Bar und innerhalb des Außenbereichs, weshalb man von draußen alles hören konnte. Und ich muss sagen, dass ich mich nicht wirklich willkommen gefühlt habe. Abgesehen davon ist die Anlage schön, die Gemeinschaftsklos- und Duschen sind sehr sauber und schön gestaltet.

I had the worst night of sleep here (8 bed female dorm, upper bunk bed). No air circulation, window was closed by other room guests, fan was shut off cause too loud, people hanging out in front of window loudly speaking. Also, no atmo and overpriced. When asking the staff to cancel my second night ( I could have only changed to 16 bed dorm), their response was: no :). So I booked a night at Somos (I recommend) and paid double. Wish the staff would’ve offered a better solution.

Not worth it, expensive for what they offer

Beautiful hostel with wonderful facilities and garden. A really lovely chill vibe, feels fancier than your average dorm room.

This hostile feels like a small boutique hotel. The space is amazing and communal. It’s super clean. The way the dorms are arranged gives you so much privacy w/ mattresses are super comfortable. Bathroom/shower - wow! breakfast was delicious and bar opens at night spins great music & yummy cocktails. The staff clearly care about their job because they’re hanging out giving people information and going above and beyond the call of duty. It’s no surprise Maya gets booked out way in advance!

Top hostel..bien placé dans Antigua..super petit déjeuner..dortoir spacieux..hostel très propre avec une belle ambiance végétale..on a adoré

great hostel! Easy to socialize and meet people while also chill and quiet. Breakfast is great as well and all the staff are so fun and easygoing!

I LOVED this hostel!!!! The atmosphere wasn't really a party but it was so social and so fun. We went to the free salsa class and it was a highlight of my trip! The beds were SO comfy and they give you two huge pillows. My only complaint is the top bunk was very difficult to get into! Showers were nice and hot as well. The staff was so friendly and I had the best time here! Get the banana pancakes for your free breakfast- quite literally the best breakfast I've had in my entire life! Cannot reco...

Amazing stay overall! Great beds, clean rooms / bathrooms, good breakfast and a cool social vibe (if youre interested). Its a good location as well!

We really enjoyed our stay here, breakfast was nice our room and the bathroom were clean and they had hot water! They also allowed us to store our bag while we did the volcano hike.

Great hostel, everything was super clean, great location, staff were beyond kind. I’ll be back for sure :)

Comfortable, welcoming, and a great location. This is one of the best hostels I’ve stayed in.

Die schönste Unterkunft meiner Reise :-) war hier leider nur eine Nacht, aber selbst im 14-Betten-Dorm war es super angenehm, wunderschöne Waschräume, alles sauber, super viele Sitzmöglichkeiten draußen, Wasser-Refill und sogar eine Küche, große Locker für den Backpack, super Frühstück, sehr nettes und hilfsbereites Personal – und eine sehr gute Lage! Winziges Manko wäre vielleicht die fehlende Dachterasse :-)

Not worth the money. The breakfast was good, but I would choose a different hostel in Antigua next time. It wasn’t very social and there were mostly couples. I also had a horrible experience with a staff member at check-in, which affected the rest of my stay and made me feel uneasy.

This hostel was fantastic! Best shower of my life after the volcano hike! Hot water. Three lovely dogs too! Stayed in both a dorm and a private room and both were amazing! Great location. Would return here!
