A death trap if there is a fire and you are on the third or fourth floors. The door to the fire escape on the third floor is bolted shut in three places. The windows of the dorms are likewise bolted shut (which also makes them sweltering hot - no fans provided). It seems the owner does not want people to have fresh air to cut heating costs. Floors and walls appear to be constructed of cheap unfinished plywood. Thick mold in the shower. Staff were great but these issues are serious.
Had a very bad experience. There was construction going from 08:00-20:00 without a single warning. This resulted in my bed being covered in sawdust and it being noisy, so if you wanted to go to bed/wake up early to hike, you couldn’t. They put me in a different room but proceeded to give my old bed to someone else the next day. Additionally, the kitchen really was not big enough to accommodate the amount of people staying there. The toilets were clogged and the showers were full of mold.
Had a very bad experience with the employees giving bad vibes, putting up political agendas about freeing Jerusalem, Palestinian flags, and generally making us feel unwelcomed there as Israelis. When confronted the employee pretty much told me it’s not her problem and didn’t care much, wasn’t offered a refund either.
Do not stay here. I booked one night during check in hours and they were closed and never gave me a code to get in door. My friend and I were stuck outside and had to walk to another hostel and book for the night.
Door did not close at all, no lockers for gear. Pillow was incredibly lumpy and flat, mattress also very uncomfortable. No ladder on the bunks. Bathrooms were unclean with some toilets not flushing. Walls were also very thin so you could hear everyone at all times. Very expensive hostel for the state of it. Would not recommend staying here. Only good things were the location and that the tap water was drinkable.
The hostel is run-down and smells like a sewage pipe has exploded inside. I’ve never experienced anything like this during my travels in Patagonia.
Very small hostel for the amount of people that can be there, toilets stink up all the bedrooms, you can't be in the common area after 11:00 PM, it's very difficult to cook with all the people in a very small kitchen, very expensive for the value, not recommended
The only good thing about this hostel is the proximity to the bus station. Hotel is not secure, no locks on the front doors or the individual dorms so anyone can walk in. Tiny kitchen that barely fits 3 people. Barely an area to socialise. Bathrooms are dirty and smell of damp/mould.

extremely close to bus station so great for early morning bus, but further from walk start point. kitchen had enough, fridge was a bit gross. beds were clean enough, though the pillows were very lumpy. would reccommend as a budget option for one night maybe, if not you can find better in el chalten for slightly more
Un ostello basico, posizione molto comoda attaccata al terminal.
Really nice hostel with comfortable beds and nice people! They offer quite some services like laundry or transfers etc. The only negative thing is that you can only pay in cash which is a bit difficult when you don’t have enough with you (and there’s no western union in el chalten)
Cosiest hostel ever with the sweetest 2 dogs and cats. Feels like a home away from home!!
Cocina sucia y pequeña Mesas pequeñas Habitaciones pequeñas Camas malas, almohadas malas No hay servicio de candado No había televisor El baño estaba sucio, inodoro sucio y duchas incómodas
Staff not super welcoming but lots of other travellers to hang with, room was warm. Kitchen had everything you needed.
Such a great hostel. Close to the bus station which is helpful. Really social vibes met people to go hiking with. Volunteers were amazing - shout out to paddy. Some reviews mention it was dirty - we saw people cleaning constantly round the clock. Honestly was super clean and lovely think it’s just a constant flow of people getting back from hikes with mud etc. we loved this hostel. Nice social area out front our mates from other hostels ended up chilling with us here !
Great hostel for a few nights, it’s clean and quiet at night. As some people mentioned before the kitchen is terribly small, some stoves work not very well and some pots come without handles. It’s the only place to hang out at so in bad weather it’s packed. Other than that it’s a good affordable hostel for el chaltén
It is a very good hostel with good environment, very close to the bus terminal. The bed that I was staying was a little bit loose so every tiny move the whole thing was shaking, despite that the rest was amazing. Kitchen is small but I personally like it because it makes people talk with each other. I definitely recommend.
The whole room that i slept in had bed bugs! kitchen is just overcrowded and small. You really have better options to stay in el chalten
Not very cozy, the lockers didn’t have doors and the kitchen super busy. Only one toilet since one was broken.
A cheap hostel with all the important amenities and very sociable. Right next to the bus stop and the staff were friendly. the bathrooms could have been nicer, but very affordable for travellers on a budget
Kitchen is a crowded no doubt and the beds are a little shaky but the vibe is great to meet people to hike with and the staff is helpful and friendly. I’d recommend this place if you’re staying in el chalten
A death trap if there is a fire and you are on the third or fourth floors. The door to the fire escape on the third floor is bolted shut in three places. Nice people but feels like the place is falling apart
Solid place
This hostel is in a great location to the bus station and not too far to walk to the start of the hikes. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend. As well as enjoying our stay, I ended up leaving something behind and the hostel staff went out of their way to find a way to get it to me in a different country. This was so nice and thoughtful and shows that they have good people working there. If you need a place to stay, come here, they go above and beyond!
cuisine un peu petite mais sinon le reste est top
I'd stay again!
