Ratten und Kakerlaken im Zimmer und Küche. Hinter der Rezeption werden zwei Welpen in einem Hamster Käfig gehalten. Bettlaken waren auch sehr fleckig. Trotzdem sozial aber echt ekelhaft.

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE IS THE WORST HOSTEL IN SYDNEY Very disappointing stay. Only 1 bathroom for 24 people on our floor, roughly 1 toilet per 30 guests overall. Every morning we waited up to 30 minutes just to use the toilet or brush our teeth. Facilities were dirty, overcrowded and poorly maintained. On top of that, I was charged more than stated in my booking confirmation. I request clarification and a refund for the overcharge and poor conditions.

This is probably the worst hostel in Sydney. The whole hostel absolutely stinks. The kitchen is tiny and gets left a complete state. But the worse part is the rooms which are tiny, with zero floor space so that you’re stepping over people luggage just to get to your bunk. There is zero air conditioning and one fan on the floor if a room of 8 people. The temperature of the room was unbearable and nobody was able to sleep. Would not recommend this hostel to anybody

Did not enjoy my stay here. The rooms were so stuffy and tiny, and there were not enough bathrooms to go around. The kitchen was disgusting, and extremely uncomfortable to cook in due to the heat. Would never stay here again or recommend to anyone.

Visited this hostel during Swifties bashing weekend so the prices were astronomical. The facilities were below average and the rooms were very cramped. The hostel did not feel clean, as for the cockroaches we had to shake it off ;P The kitchen was tiny for how many people were staying there. However staff tried hard to make it a sociable place, making the atmosphere friendly and fun. Great if you are travelling alone and looking to meet new people.

4 bagni singoli per tutto l'ostello di cui solo 2 funzionanti! Scarafaggi in bagno, pioveva dentro la camera e pulizia terribile. Costo assolutamente esagerato per quello che offrono. Non lo raccomando a nessuno

Simply to flee from, a hostel completely under renovation, 2 bathrooms for the whole hostel, cockroaches everywhere, mold everywhere in the bathrooms, a smell of garbage on the terrace, unfriendly staff who overcharge for one night.

Really poor hostel. Sleeping quarters really small and cramped. There was only two bathrooms with shower facilities in the whole place. They were always being used so we constantly had to use the shop or the train station toilets close by. The staff were nice and friendly. During our stay there was constant construction work being done so you weren’t able to use certain rooms and were woken in the morning to banging. None of this stuff is we reflected in the price of the hostel.

I got there at 2 am and they didn't let me go to my room because they were not accepting my drivers licence, eventhough it's valid everywhere in Australia.

When I arrived I was informed I could not stay as I was over 35yrs, This is disgusting ageist behaviour !! I was sent out onto the street, if something happened to me it wld be on you -!! Lucky I phoned a friend ,and was safe ,

Best hostel I’ve ever stayed in! Great vibes, great people and lovely and clean! Owen and Tilly on reception are so helpful, can’t fault it :-)

atmosphere and events are lacking

I would have had a good stay if I had not been in a room with a guy who had a girl in his bed during the day for the first three days, and another guy who had weed in the room and ate meals on his bed. The staff were great though. Kitchen too hot. WiFi great for about 5 days and then it was awful. I would stay there again.

It’s actually a really nice hostel, the price performance ratio is great, they had events going on ever night (not all of them involving alcohol but enough), the staff was really helpful when I needed help with something, they were cleaning rooms every day and kitchen and bathrooms multiple times per day. I had a great experience in Sydney and mad monkey east side was a big part of that 👍

Ostello bellissimo, pulito, staff simpaticissimo e gente stupenda dentro, pieno di backpackers e ogni sera attività interessanti da fare

Overall a decent hostel because it is fairly priced, but unfortunately the rooms get insanely hot without AC (fans only) and the street the hostel os on is not great during the night.

Such a welcoming and social vibe! The kitchen and common rooms have everything you need. You get a very good deal for the cheap price! Also very lovely staff!

it is chaos it feels like a massive house, the rooms are so hot(fans not ac) and the showers are not fun as there’s gaps in the doors, the kitchen is also too small but apart from that it’s perfect

Let me start by saying: the staff were lovely and responsive, and the location is very convenient (albeit not a very charming street - gentlemen’s clubs and fast food chains surrounding the hostel). The rooms themselves were also very clean, quiet, and cool. My issue with the Mad Monkey were the bathrooms. Only 3 showers, 2 toilets per floor, and all coed. I selected an all-girls dorm, and perhaps this is my own naivety, but I didn’t realize I’d be sharing the bathrooms with other men. T...

Best Hostel in Kings Cross very nice staff. Best Location right in Kings Cross. The Events everyday are very fun and everyone is very friendly. Would definitely go here again

the hostel felt to small for how many people there was. The kitchen didnt feel big enough, the lounge areas felt to cramped to ever sit in there, didnt really feel comfortable there. Not enough toilets and didnt like people could hear you on the toilet while they were going down the stairs. Staff were really nice, always helpful, place was always clean just the overall atmosphere i didn't get on with.

Comfy beds, some bathrooms are really nice, kitchen is great, cinema room and dining room are nice. Downsides are that the main road is noisy at night on weekends and the bag storage room isn’t locked, meaning anyone can come in from the street and take the bags.

Okay hostel, run good events. Ensuite bathroom wasn’t very clean and bunks could do with curtains. Relatively sociable, big party energy
