PESSIMO, I arrived at 15:35 and was told to wait until 16h for the check in and ok I wait in the hall, at 17:10 I ask if I can and I am told to come back later because the manager is "busy", I come back later and I realize that the only thing I had to do was show me the door since the bed had to be made and unmade by myself! I had a bed upstairs WITHOUT a tent and with the light bulb 1 meter from my eyes, I was uncovered, zero privacy, uncomfortable bed, dirty bathroom ac
I arrived to Jiufen earlier than check in, and found the hostel locked. I called and messaged the number listed and did not hear back for 2.5 hours! Once I did get let in, the staff was cold and not welcoming. The downstairs smells strongly of cigarette smoke, and cleanliness is lacking. I would not recommend.
Unfriendly staff, but other than that it was a fine place to sleep at night. Clean and quiet.
Good stay, amazing location. No windows so kind of dingy and the workers there use the common area as their work/living space. They are all very nice but found not a lot of space. Main complaint is that the heat was not working and it was absolutely freezing and pouring rain outside.
Jiufen is better if you spend 2-3+ nights there! I found a group to rent motorbikes with, and we made the journey from Taipei. There are tons of great places to explore near the village, like Shifen, Reifung, Keelung, and the east coast. This hostel was nice and the owner was very welcoming. Its just steps away from walking street.
Nice cozy hostel. A little cramped, but nice for a night or two. Great location. Slept really good
A good place to stay for a night in Jiufen which is well worth it. It’s not the most luxurious and shower situation is a bit weird. Bunks have zero privacy but owner is very kind. Phenomenal location.
Nice place if you want to stay the night in Jiufen. The staff was really kind, they’re all foreigners doing the volunteering in exchange for free accommodation thing.
Nice hostel. Good vibe
This is a good place for a quick overnight stay. There is 1 shower for all 16 beds and it shares space with the laundry and 1 of the 2 toilets. If you are someone who needs privacy, bring a sheet to hang as the top bunks do have privacy covers. Alan the host was kind and helpful and Nancy the volunteer was super sweet. I went in the off season so not many people.

Great fun atmosphere. I made a lot of friends here. It is in a great area and it has many games! It is a chill hostel and it fits basic needs but is not fancy or luxury. I think this hostel was a great experience. Also the staff is amazing! Make sure you talk to them!
One of the best hostels ever based on location. The perfect base for a Jiefun trip, so convenient to get to from the bus stop and watching the lighting of the lanterns until they turn off at 9:30 long after all the crowds have left to catch the bus back to Taipei. Great for doing a day trip to Shifen- really felt like I explored both areas fully without having to rush them into day trips
The hostel is very clean and the beds are comfortable, a nice place to meet new people as well. Located downtown that made it convenient for walking to most anywhere you wanted to go.
Cozy and ideally situated
Great option for a Jiufen pitstop. All the guys working there were super chill and friendly. The hostel couldn't be in a better location as it's right off the main street. Also, close to PT to get to hikes or to explore further out.
The staff I conversed with were so kind - take the time to get to know them! Beds had enough privacy, showers were pretty good and an overall good vibe! Also very convenient location.
Direkt neben der Old Street. Für den Touristen-Hotspot Jiufen sehr gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis.
Right next to the Old Street. for the Tourist-Hotspot Jiufen very good price-performance ratio.

This is a really cheap place if you love jiufen old street or wanna explore the area. The place is clean, you are not allowed to bring outside shoes in the dorms so no funky odor . Theres even washer , dryer for $50 ntd coins.
Loved the place, the two volunteers, one of whom was her first day, were very kind! a small hostel with an excellent location, right next to old street. Despite its smallness, if you make the effort to communicate with others its a worthwhile stay!

Great place to stay in Shifen! The only thing is the social atmosphere is a bit awkward in between travelers, but the rest really is pretty great I loved it and would definitely stay there again. The front desk guy I forgot his name was incredibly sweet and attentive. It would’ve gotten a 10 but as a solo travelers I expect a little more effort to make travelers be more social!
Staff are amazing! So nice and helpful. Really social vibe among travellers. Walking distance from station. Most importantly, there is a hostel cat and it is the sweetest loveliest cat on earth
very nice hostel, comfy beds and close to everything
Such a lovely hostel! The atmosphere is very chill and it feels like siting in the living room at home
Super sweet spot with kind staff and social atmosphere :)
