There was a guest in the room that had plastic bags of clothes across the floor of the dorm. The guest had asked me if I used meth and if I had any.
Don't stay here when in New Orleans, this hostel doesn't represent the city very well. The staff is the worse part, they are unmotivated, unhelpful and rude. The hostel itself is mediocre, the fridge smells terrible, there's no kitchen, the drinks are overpriced and the rooms are tiny and dirty (our sink would not drain, we had to brush our teeth in the shower). The architecture and feel of the place was bland and the location ok, nothing very close to it. There are places way better than this.
I don't know where to begin. Was in town for Mardi Gras Area flooded where watered rushed into lobby where staff began adding towels to the front door and outside elevator. Staff was the only positive experience. The staff was helpful and all working. The room was very small. Bed sheets had dried blood and hair. Hair Barretts left on bed. Part of floor sticky. People in the lobby were intoxicated. 2 men let me know they seen my BMW and it was in a bad area bc no parking garage. No food
I booked a mixed room but when I got there, I was put in a room full of Black men with tattoos and dreadlocks. They were all high all the time and one of them was coughing non-stop. I know that I am also a Black man with locks, but that does not mean that you have to put me in a room full of Black men, who are high, with dreadlocks, and deny me the room that I purchased or booked for. Other races were also or mostly in their own rooms. This is very wrong and made me not like the place at all.
Place quite crowded and noisy. The common space was too small for all the people hanging out there. Staff not interested in customer. There was no place to store the bycicles even though we had expressely asked and we were told there was.
overall poor experience after the housekeeping disposing of all my possession when someone else in the room checked out. i got 80% of it back by dumpter diving. review left because they offered me compensation for lost items and then they changed there minds next day. ill never return to new orleans
I would have rated this hostel higher if it wasn't due to one particular cleaning lady with a bad attitude. She literally threatened to physically hurt me because I took her bowl of food out the microwave once it was done, lol! She was extremely rude and abusive towards me and needs to be fired as she's the bad apple of the bunch. The rest of the staff weren't unpleasant but not the friendliest lot either. The free breakfast needs some fruit as an addition. The 4pm check in time is ridiculous.
Too bad the breakfast of 08.00 is not 1x of the 3am that I was there it was also there. 1st morning it was done at 08.45 and the other 2 times I had to leave at 08.15.
it was good to stay there but the location and atmosphere are not good.
Homeless people around and inside the hostel. Alex from the reception very rude. This guy should do other job not related to help customers feel ok. I asked him for cheese and salami for the breakfast and he said he was very rude throwing a couple of slices of salami to my plate. Cheese he decided not to give it to me that morning. Definitely brought my day down. The rest of the reception staff very nice!

Absolute gem and the staff were all amazing! Would recommend and will definitely stay again!
lovely spot smack in the middle of the cbd, streetcar right outside your door and super walkable to a bunch of nearby spots
What a great place to be in Nola! Appreciate the Staff and the cleanliness, price, and location of the place.
Ericka, Ari and Mary in housekepping are wonderful and keep things neat, tidy and in order so do not forget to tip your housekeepers please. Marcel, at the front desk handles the many people checking in and out for Jazz Fest and I hope that they get raises because they do so much like keeping the lobby ccleaned, making our breakfast look amazing and answering our questions about everything New Orleans. My trip wouldnt have been fulfilled without meeting Marcel, Ericka, Mary and Ari!
I had a decent time overall. Staff were great, beds were comfy, and our room itself was very clean. In the communal room the bathrooms could get a little messy, also the speakers were loud and blown out, and the front door was malfunctioning. It’s the people who make the experience great though. Just loved everyone I interacted with, and it was very easy to make friends here. Just watch out walking around the neighborhood, there can be some alarming addict behavior taking place nearby.
Great stay!
Overall good hostel, staff and beds were great! However atmosphere within the hostel wasn’t that easy to meet people
I mean it was definitely worth the money. I payed roughly 25$ a night and stayed 4 nights. It is located right next to a tram stop that takes you close to the French quarters. However it is also located quite close to homeless camps and I lived on the bottom floor and could hear everything going on outside the window (where a Popeyes is located) and you can also hear everyone and everything trough the walls and doors. If you are traveling on a budget I would say it’s worth it.
Most staff was ok. Housekeeping was great
Amazing experience! The price, the staff, cleanliness, other travelers, all impeccable!

I wish I worked here

In general this was a good hostel. But, the staff kept the music and TV in the lobby area obnoxiously loud all the time. It was uncomfortable at breakfast because people had to shout to talk. One morning I was woke up because of heavy drum/bass music at 6:30 am. I went downstairs to complain. The music was still loud enough to hear over the shower in my room. Let your guests sleep. Dont turn on the music until 8:00 am. Getting woken up by the staff is NOT cool.
The hostel was nice overall! Close to transit and the CBD. My only complaint was the breakfast was meh and they consistently ran out of bagels very quickly.
The Quisby was great! The staff especially was welcoming and helpful. The bed was clean and comfortable, and you really can't beat the price. The location is directly next to the #12 streetcar line and so very easy to get into the downtown area.
Good location, right next to a streetcar stop and close to both French quarter and Garden district. I stayed in a private room that was spacious and clean.
Had a fantastic time staying at The Quisby with my girlfriend. Stayed for 6 nights. Located right next to a streetcar stop, it's an easy journey to French Quarter & bourbon street. Also only about a 20 minute walk. Kitchen downstairs was useful & I mostly made food to save money. Made some great friends who were also staying here. Would stay again!
it was very clean and the staff were nice. first time in hostle and it was a great time.
I stay at hostels a lot. The Quisby is squeaky clean, cleaner than a number of hotels I’ve stayed at in New Orleans. The rooms are spacious, the bathrooms spacious, and the staff flexible and helpful. I’ve already booked my next stay at the Quisby.
