I do not recommend this hostel if you’re a solo traveller. I didn’t feel welcomed by the staff or the owners at all, tried to make conversation and be friendly but since I only speak a little bit of Spanish I could not engage in the conversations. I arrived at the hostel when there was no other travellers only volunteers. I wish the hostel would have informed me about this as it left me feeling very excluded. All the activities that the hostel has posted on HW didn’t happen either...
Bathroom were not clean, couple was sleeping on one bed in dorm.
the manager Coco sent me an email saying the wifi didn’t work and electricity was out in some rooms but there was AC in the room. They offered 25% discount in an email but only gave me 15% even when I pointed out the email. No light in the bathroom or showers. No AC in the room had to sleep outside by the pool. Horrible miserable experience. Something super fishy going on. 20 minute walk to beach and restaurants.
Aggressive dogs roaming outside the hostel, poor atmosphere, unfriendly staff, inconvenient location. Pick somewhere safer and closer to the beach
Quite disappointed with this hostel given it has high reviews. Although the high reviews could be helped by the fact you receive a free drink if you leave a review and show them- I believe in organic reviews!! Pros: - nice garden and pool area - the volunteers are nice Cons: - too expensive for what you get - not the most social and weird vibes - water was dripping from the AC onto me while I was sleeping and I was just told to turn the AC off (even though it's super hot).
I advise people to avoid this hostel. Was recommended by a friend who previously stayed here however new owners took over recently who treat the place like a family home that you’re not a part of , rather than a hostel. Incredibly exclusionary, clique staff and generally just a weird vibe. The place is 90% volunteers and barely any guests. It’s not just unfriendly, it’s as though the people there go out of their way to ignore you - you are made to feel like an inconvenience just being ther...
Some Staff weren’t particularly freindly apart from Brian and the French lady.
Don't believe the description. The "co-working area" is a few outlets and tables on either side of the bar. There's loud music playing almost all day and well into the night, so don't expect a quiet working atmosphere. And "quiet garden?" The aforementioned music is piped through multiple speakers throughout the hostel so there's no escape - including in the dorms sometimes. This is not a co-living space. This is a nightclub you can stay in. If that's what you're into, you'll enjoy it. If, howe...
I was confused why I didn't think this hostel was awesome like the reviews, until I saw the signs offering a free drink for a review. It's not bad, it's just not that great and worth half the price they charge. It's a good place if you're visiting from France because all of the "volunteers" are French. One of them was nice and helpful but the rest... I dunno. Felt like I was a stranger in their house. Beds were clean and no bugs. Free breakfast was bad, might as well not be any.

Really lovely and relaxed atmosphere, easy going staff/owner, peaceful set up. Good communal facilities
È un ostello molto economico. La posizione è buona. 20 min a piedi dalla spiaggia di Carizzalillo. La sera è tranquillo senza rumori. Staff inesistente, totale anarchia.
We had the best stay at Nopalero hostel, the kindest staff and volunteers! Lovely kitchen and lots of cool spaces and hang out spots, 10/10 recommend :))
Very friendly welcome form a female volunteer who was behaving like Brits. Professional and open-minded. To my surprise she was French, not German. The Canadian male volunteer was kind as well. However there was a group of French staying there. I left France and a job that was generating +10 thousand euros a month to be far from French closed culture and suspicious French people. This group attitude at the hostel reminded me of why I left.

Very calm, amazing volunteers/staff, not a lot of guests, would recommend if you want to stay away from the party hustle.
Nopalero was one of my favourite hostels I’ve ever stayed in, and definitely the most magical. The volunteer staff were so lovely and accommodating, and the first thing they said to me when i arrived ‘was welcome to the Nopalero family’. The atmosphere and chill areas were amazing, and the rooms super comfortable. I can’t recommend this hostel enough for people going to puerto escondido.
Nopalero was my home away from home! I have never felt so comfortable in a space that wasn't my own! The host and host family were attentive and kind and always participated in the activities with us. When I wasn't sure what to do with my time, the volunteers would take me swimming at the beautiful beaches or would just hang out with me at the hostel. I truly could not recommend Nopalero enough! The vibes were chill, comfy and safe, and there were several family-style activities and meals. I can...
This was one of my favorite hostels. It was like a little oasis in the center of town. The garden area and hammocks were so nice and I absolutely loved the pool and chilling in the sun under the trees. There was always music playing, such a great vibe there. The staff were so nice and accommodating. The showers were great, nice and big and lots of water pressure. The dorm rooms were well equipped with lights, fans, charging stations, lockers and AC. Safe and Secure. Great kitchen as well. Loved!
A really cute hostel, a little hidden paradise. The hostel offers pretty much all the amenities you could wish for. The staff are all super friendly, there are daily activities and the kitchen has plenty of space. The internet wasn't quite sufficient for my needs and the showers could be checked more often, all in all I still recommend this hostel
