TRAVELERS BEWARE- this hostel advertises AC but it’s HIGHLY restricted. It’s only during nighttime hours 8:30-8:30 and they actually come into your room to turn it off and on each time. It’s also set at 77 degrees or 25. Would not recommend staying here especially when there’s nicer hostels with unlimited AC for the same price in better locations. I’ve been traveling Mexico for over a month and this is the worst hostel I stayed at.
Avoid this hostel. It’s a 20-min drive from La Punta with no Uber, making it unsocial and inconvenient. The place is run-down: broken bunks with no curtains or plugs, dark rooms, tiny lockers, cold showers, and AC only after 10pm. The kitchen is unusable, our labelled food was stolen, and staff didn’t help. The linked laundry ruined our clothes. Constant weed smell and no real management. Stay in La Punta instead.
Fatal ubicado. Te dicen que la playa está a 7’ en bici pero que peligro si vas en bici porque las carreteras no están hechas para ciclistas. Y desde luego no están a esa distancia, sino a unos 40’. Tuvimos que cambiar de hotel. No recomendamos.
Fatal location. they tell you that the beach is 7 by bike but what a danger if you go by bike because the roads are not made for cyclists. and of course they are not that far, but about 40. we had to change hotels. we do not recommend.
Probably the worst hostel I have ever stayed at and first time I have ever left a review below 7. The sheets are plastic which makes u very sweaty and sticky to the bed. The AC doesn’t work and when then have a power cut it never turns back on as they keep the remotes. Also was extremely empty with only staff who weren’t interested in showing us around the hostel let alone anything like where the bathrooms are or the kitchen. Save your money and go by the coast or La punta.
Not as clean as I expected from the photos. We stayed 4 nights, we asked reception on the 3rd day if room service are coming and they said "if you had stayed more than 4 nights we would have cleaned on day 3" and the receptionist then just shrugged which I thought was really rude. I asked twice for my towels to be changed, the first time they gave us hand towels, second time there were no towels at all. Cold solar powered showers. Location isnt close to either the beach or the town
I'm unhappy with the service here. Someone working on reception charged me twice for my stay and said she would resolve the issue later. I went back to reception and asked for a refund and the girl was really unhelpful, hungover and said she doesn't know the answer to any questions im asking and couldn't be bothered to help or just refund after showing my bank statements. I emailed and they refunded the wrong amount and still not resolved!!! please refund me for paying twice!!!
Bad location and bad facilities overall.
An sich kein schlechtes Hostel , aber trotz teurem Preis für ein Einzelzimmer kein fließend Wasser gehabt über den Aufenthalt, sprich man hat sich mit allen anderen eine Dusche und eine Toilette geteilt. Kann mal passieren , jedoch gab es keine Auskunft wann es wieder Wasser gibt noch eine Art Entschuldigung. Es wurde erwartet dass es einfach hingenommen wird. Daher auch nur 2 Sterne für Sauberkeit , wenn sich 50 Leute eine Toilette und eine Dusche teilen kann es schon gut eklig werden.
An mal passer, however, there was no information when there is water again or a kind of excuse. it was expected that it would be taken simply. therefore even just 2 stars for cleanliness, if 50 people share a toilet and a shower it can already be well-liked.
La atención del personal súper amables, el tema son los cuartos que no tienen ventilación adecuada y se sienten súper húmedos , de ahí en fuera todo bien
Attention from the super friendly staff, the issue is the rooms that do not have adequate ventilation and feel super humid, from there on out everything is fine

Esta fue mi segunda vez en Puerto Dreams y es un lugar totalmente espectacular e increíble que siempre te hace sentir como en casa. Las habitaciones son cómodas, las actividades son bastante divertidas, el staff fue bueno y siempre amigable. Es un lugar que siempre recomendaré por su buena vibra y calidez en cualquier época del año. Espero regresar pronto ❤️

I would go back ! I felt very comfortable here , and the staff and volunteers were accommodating and helpful ! The free salsa dance class was definitely a plus! Lots of plants, friendly vibes, good location, lots of recommendations!

we had a private room with its own bathroo. and AC. the AC was so worth it. the room was so big i loved it. i also loved the location of the room compared to where the things in the hostel were. it was right below the rooftop but when things ended on the rooftop it was quiet tto sleep. the curtains kept out the light it was great actually

Puerto dreams is an amazing place, the atmosphere is extraordinary. It felt like I was part of a big family. Also there was always plenty to do and fun activities going on with all the volunteers being super friendly.
really lovely stay, hostel had so many fun free activities as well as excursions - i would highly recommend the horse riding!
I had a fantastic stay at Puerto Dreams. Good location, close to beaches and very close to the market. The volunteers were all incredibly welcoming, especially Tara and Mila. They offered great recommendations and really went out of their way to make sure everyone had an enjoyable stay.

The private room was great. They let you use bikes for free. Lots of restaurants and stores in the area but I would prefer staying in La punta area the next time. I think the hostel is suitable for young guests with a bit of a party vibe. Music was playing loud at the rooftop till 00:00 and sometimes later. It is run by young volunteers (which were really nice and social) but I think it affects the atmosphere. Also some of the activities are more party oriented.
Puerto Dreams is amazing if you want to have both a laid back hostel vibe and/or an activity-packed, adventure-filled stay in Puerto Escondido. You can adapt to whatever you are looking for, whether thats partying and surfing and beaches and meeting new people and other travellers or chilling and having a relaxing time in this beautiful city. The location in the centre gives a much more local and authentic experience, closer to the best swimming beaches and gorgeous sunset spots, as well as amaz...

So ein wunderbares Hostel! Die Volunteers und Mitarbeiter lassen einen sofort wie zu Hause fühlen und die Atmosphäre ist einfach toll. Social und gleichzeitig relaxed, aber sie wissen auf jeden Fall wie man Party macht🌟 Es gibt jeden Tag Aktivitäten, das Hostel hat ein Café und eine Bar mit sehr guten Getränken. Ehrlich gesagt finde ich das Hostel perfekt gelegen, mit den schönsten Stränden easy zu Fuß erreichbar. Ich werde wieder kommen💓💞 Danke Puerto Dreams
So ein wunderbarer Hostel! The Volunteers and Staff make you feel right at home and the atmosphere is just great. Social and at the same time relaxed, but they definitely know how to party There are activities every day, the Hostel has a Café and a Bar with very good drinks.
excelente habitación, la cama es muy comoda! El personal 10/10, muy buena limpieza. Los voluntarios son lo mejor del hostal. El cafe de paulo es el mas rico de puerto. Sin dudas voy a volver algun dia

Mila is very helpful and welcoming. She showed me this wonderful hostel and the weekly events that are being hosted here. I had an amazing time meeting new friends and the check in check out process is smooth. I will definitely come back to the same hostel when I’m in town again!
