Somit Paying Guest House

DON’T STAY HERE !!!! I rarely write reviews but I strongly advise against staying here. There are much better places in varanasi to stay. On the first night there were bed bugs all over the bed. When they moved us to a new room there were also bugs all over the blanket. The rooms were extremely unhygienic. The AC also didn’t work for most of the time there. Me and my girlfriend were forced to leave the hostel at 1am with no help from Sormit. Although being a local he claimed he didn’t know other places we could stay which forced us to find a place to stay ourselves at 1am. He didn’t even bother to help carry our luggage from the third floor and instead laid on the sofa. The next day I came back to speak to him, to see if he understood how badly he treated us. He replied to me with a persona that he’s this enlightened spiritual person without taking proper accountability. On top of this, him and his family lie about the market price of getting a henna tatto and astrology reading. Sormit is charismatic and I believe this is the reason he has so many good reviews. He is able to convince people who stay for only a few days that he is a good person just trying to help children while the locals say something different about him. When I spoke to the locals about Sormit (the man who runs this place) they agreed that he presents himself as this enlightened human while scamming. Some locals told us not to volunteer at the children’s school as Sormit instead of actually educating these children uses them for profit.
