Das Hostel ist wirklich in Ordnung. Das Problem ist ganz Belize. Total teuer und abartig vermülllt. Überall!!! Wir haben nicht einmal gebadet, das Meer ist total ekelhaft. Die Enttäuschung war riesig. Belize ist definitiv keine Reise wert. Die Abzocke ist auch sehr schlimm 😔
The hostel is really in order. The problem is all over Belize. Total expensive and all kinds of rubbish. Everywhere!!! We didn't even take a bath, the lake is totally disgusting. The disappointment was huge. Belize is definitely not worth the trip. The Abzocke is also very bad 😔

We were only there for one night but it seemed very clean and the staff were friendly. The location is great.
Helpful staff. great location, walk one minute to the beach or a couple minutes to the main strip. it was quiet and comfortable. our room was hot, but manageable with fans. good value for money.
Lydia est très accueillante et arrangeante ! L’endroit est très bien située sur la rue pavée piétonne à deux pas de la plage. C’est propre; de l’eau potable est à disposition.
Lydia is very welcoming and organized! the place is very well located on the paved pedestrian street a few steps from the beach. it is clean; drinking water is available.
Lydia's Guest House is peaceful and is located in a location that's easy on the eyes! I enjoyed the upper level front porch with the pretty tropical views, as well as the short path to the water. The staff is kind, helpful and always has time for visiting. It's close enough to the action in Placencia, yet comfortably removed from the bustle. Rooms are small, clean, and comfortable. Bathrooms are immaculate. Both refrigerators and freezers are available. Kitchen is adequate. A lovely place!

Nice location. Kitchen a bit dated and unclean. Room small but the AC worked well. We used a local beach clubs facilities on a sunny day which was amazing. Good location.
Hostel très bien situé. Chambre lit double avec ventilateur (une climatisation serait appréciée au mois d'août), salle de bain et toilette propres. Un balcon très agréable avec table et hamac permet de se détendre, avec vue sur les cocotiers. La cuisine est bien équipée. Mais a ce moment là de l'année, ne cherchez pas la fête. Préférez plutôt l'ambiance calme de cette guesthouse. Je recommande
Hostel very well located. Double bed room with fan (air conditioning would be appreciated in August), clean bathroom and toilet. A very nice balcony with table and hammock allows to relax, with a view of the coconut trees. The kitchen is well equipped. But at this time of year, do not look for the party. Rather prefer the quiet atmosphere of this guesthouse. I recommend
Lydia and her niece are warm and welcoming. We stayed 3 nights. The bed was comfy, shower was hot, no ac but fan was great (had 3 in our room). Free laundry tub or pay for machine. Location was central to grocery, beach, and restaurants. Kitchen was very basic but usable. Definitely would stay again.

Lydia’s place was wonderful! It had everything we needed! We booked an a/c room and unfortunately there was a mix up and we had to go to a non a/c room. The receptionist was incredibly apologetic and gave us some money back. Despite this mix up we had a wonderful stay! It was very clean and the use of the kitchen was great! Would definitely recommend to anyone staying in Placencia!

Lovely guesthouse in a perfect location. Rooms are comfortable and communal areas are kept so clean. You even get beach towels which is great!

Great hostel with nice kitchen and good clean rooms. We had three shared bathrooms for 6 double rooms which is a nice ratio. Close to beach and everything else in placencia.

We really enjoyed our stay at Lydia’s. The location is excellent with such close proximity to the beach. It was really clean and the outdoor area was great to relax in. Excellent value for money.

Ik zou iedereen aanraden hier te verblijven. Veel huizen, shops, restaurants en hotel zijn of worden overgenomen door rijke amerikanen. Ik vind het belangrijk om de lokale bevolking te ondersteunen. Ik heb me laten vertellen dat Lydia sinds kort niet meer onder ons is, en dat de dochter(s) het nu runnen. Het komt nog wat onwennig over, maar ze zijn enorm flexibel en meedenkend! De locatie is perfect. Zowat aan het strand, op 100 meter van restaurants en live muziek, en toch rustig!
I would recommend everyone to stay here. Many houses, shops, restaurants and hotels are or are being taken over by rich Americans. I find it important to support the local population. I have let myself be told that Lydia is no longer with us, and that the daughters are now running. It's still a little uncomfortable, but they are extremely flexible and thoughtful!
Perfect location Clean safe and quiet
Lydia’s was the perfect spot for the right price. It’s located right off the main walk of Placencia. I opted for the private room & it had everything i needed for the night. 10/10 would stay again
Lydia has been so nice! I was the only one staying at the hostel, since I went in the very slow season in beginning of September, I can't say anything about the vibe in the hostel. But Lydia made sure I am feeling taken care of. The facilitys are simple but nice. A very nice Caribbean Beach is just 100min away from the hostel. Also the sidewalk (that's extra to the road) is connected to the back of the hostel. The Hostel is in the more slow area of Placencia. But everything is walkable.

Sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt! Es ist eher wie ein Airbnb als ein klassisches Hostel, dadurch sehr ruhig und entspannt , genau das habe ich gesucht. Die Unterkunft ist sauber, die Lage super, und man fühlt sich sicher. Wer mehr Gesellschaft und ein klassisches Hostel-Feeling sucht, sollte sich bewusst sein, dass es hier ruhiger ist. Für mich war es perfekt, um zur Ruhe zu kommen.
Very pleasant stay! it's more like an Airbnb than a classic hostel, making it very quiet and relaxed , exactly what i was looking for. the accommodation is clean, the location is great, and you feel safe. who is looking for more company and a classic hostel-feeling, should be aware that it is quieter here. for me it was perfect to come to the quiet.
The location and rooms are just perfect. The staff is really friendly and helpful. There is a nearby pool which is really cheap to make use of. Overall amazing place to stay!

Lydia’s has a great location and for a private room by the beach the price can’t be beat. Everything was very clean. There was no locker in the room for valuables but an option for Lydia to store things. It is not a very social place with activities to meet people. It is more like a hotel with a shared bathroom. Would stay again!
