Comic atmosphere, small rooms, very darkly decorated
Great place to stay for proximity to khao San road and awesome street food both morning and night! Staff was constantly cleaning it showed. Honestly bed was the most uncomfortable and hard/small mattress I’ve ever slept on and the private felt like a dungeon! The whole room was maybe 5 feet wide. Overall good party hostel but far better value for the money exists just down the street and around the city.
Helaas voelde ik me niet veilig in het hostel. Er is nergens een slot/sleutel om naar binnen te komen en ook naar de kamer toe is dat niet. Dus iedereen kan gewoon vanaf de straat naar binnen lopen. Helemaal geen fijn gevoel. In de huisregels staat dat de muziek om 22:00 uit is, dat is ook niet zo (ging nog aardig wat uren door). Als je dus optijd wil slapen, is dit geen fijne plek. Ik ben wel ontzettend vriendelijk ontvangen en weggegaan. Hele aardige mensen achter de balie.
Unfortunately I didn't feel safe in the hostel. There is no lock/key anywhere to get in and also to the room is not. So everyone can just walk in from the street. Not a nice feeling at all. In the house rules it says that the music stops at 22:00, which is not so (going is still nice when you open the door). So if you want to sleep on time, it's not a nice place. I was very kindly received and left.
They using like a room spray that really stinks and it’s strong af clothes gonna spell like that for weeks
The hostel was okay and the staff were friendly. However, I think it needs to be more clear that it’s a very weed friendly hostel, the whole place stunk of it and as as non-smoker it wasn’t ideal. I could have got past this but it also has a karaoke bar inside the hostel with zero sound proofing that is open past the advertised quiet hours. Overall the hostel was fine and tbf the staff were very friendly but I think both aspects should be more clear when booking as I was expecting a quieter ...
The stuff was really nice and they had free water, but they have really strict rules. It is not really couple friendly and they don’t let you sleep in one bed ( that was not something we knew before because it was not one of the rules.) It was not much going on in the hostel either. So not really social. The rooms and bathrooms wehre really clean but had a really bad smell.
I spent four nights at Hostel Area 81 in Bangkok. Unfortunately, I was confronted with a very unpleasant situation yesterday and would like to share my concerns with you because I don't want other guests to experience the same thing I did. I missed my check-out because I was in the city and lost track of time. When I returned to the hostel, my lock had been broken and my belongings were in the lobby. The bed I was sleeping in was still available but the let me pay double and give me a worser bed
Nice hostel, clean bathrooms, beds are a little bit solid but still comfy. Near khao san road 5 min walk. Free water is a nice perk.
Basic facilities. Friendly staff. People were shagging in the dorms, multiple people. Very loud, had to tell staff. Shagging continued
Hostel is in a great location, the staff is so helpful and lovely, and the facilities are very clean! The rooftop bar is directly above the dorms and can be quite loud if you need an early night. The atmosphere of the hostel is not very social, and if you are a solo traveler it may be difficult to meet people. Overall a good place to sleep, but tough if you’re looking to socialize

Social hostel, nice Hangout area.
A really lovely hostel in a great location. The staff were so lovely, I had to extend my stay a few times due to some travel issues and they were so helpful. Great social vibe at the hostel as well, and far enough away from Khao San Road that it’s not too noisy. Rooms and facilities are all clean and comfy. Would absolutely stay here again!

I enjoyed the stay thoroughly and made some incredible friends.
Good price for the location (if you want to be near Khao San Road). Only 2 showers, 2 toilets and 2 urinals for a 20-bed room; was fine when I was there, but could be an issue when booked up. Everything was clean, but the bathroom smelled bad. Warm water was consistent but did not get hot. Not a super-social hostel; there is a small patio bar with ping pong and beer pong, a co-working area and an upstairs bar that no one seemed to use. Unlimited free cold water bottles is a very nice bonus!

Super clean hostel with well-maintained common areas. Loved the Japanese touch—no shoes inside! Karaoke nights were unforgettable. Perfect location near Khaosan Road. Staff are professional yet warm. Great balance of party vibes, chill spaces, and daily yoga. Free water, coffee & tea, plus a solid workspace. Highly recommend for backpackers seeking fun and comfort!

Excellent. Air con wasn't totally cool at all times in the shared room but otherwise no complaints. Great atmosphere, staff and location!
Amazing stay, not affected by Khao San‘s noise but super close. The staff is amazing.
