J-Hoppers Beppu Guesthouse

I stayed in the female dorm and i’d recommend this place. My only complaints are abt the lack of proper duvet sheets (there were blood stains on my quilt) and the fact that people in the dorm talked loud early in the morning. the room was nevertheless clean, the common area is nice and the owner has great music taste :) and let’s not forget the adorable Kinako!

Good location near the station and bars/restaurants, but not near the site for Beppu hells. Quiet atmosphere - J Hoppers take note of what you would like out of your stay but don’t offer anything.

9/10 because the smell was kind of very nagging. But besides that: top!

One of the best hostels I have been to. The facility is beautiful, the position convenient and the staff is incredibly friendly and supportive. Thanks to their suggestions I had the best time in Beppu. Highly recommended :)

We stayed in a private room, not a dormitory, so I don't have much to say about them. However, I did notice that the upper beds in the dorms had ministairs going up and not the moreusual, and less useful, ladders. The beds in our room were very comfortable, and the shower was huge. The receptionists were extremely helpful, going above and beyond the usual. The common room was also well arranged and lent itself to socializing.

I enjoyed my 3 night stay, and staff were very nice. Close to city center.

Awesome hostel! Very big rooms, comfortable beds, ensuited bathroom was amazing! Clean, lovely staff, good amenities, lots of recommendations for local restaurants & onsens. Not a very social hostel, but all I met were friendly

It was a nice location in Beppu.

Very friendly staff at this clean and tidy guest house, just a few minutes walk from the JR Beppu station. Big comfortable beds and a nice common space with kitchen facilities. If you’re heading to a local onsen, they have soap and shampoo in a little basket you can take with you which is very handy.

Perfect to stay in Beppu. Central location that is just right secluded.

Very welcoming hostel. Clean and spacious. Great kitchen and communal area. Close to the bus/train station, close to shops. Staff are friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again.

Great hostel and a great host who always is open for a small talk! He also gives you tips about Beppu for activities and locations to eat. Further the rooms are spacious and clean. The beds are good and I had some of my better nights in Japan here in 2 weeks.

My favorite hostel in all of Kyushu. The location is right in the center of downtown Beppu, close to the main station. The building itself is quaint and homey. The only downside is the showers seem to only have hot water on during certain hours of the day, which are listed on the shower door. Since this is a hot spring town, it’s not a deal breaker by any means. Go bathe at an onsen instead. The staff are very friendly, fun to talk to, and super helpful. I would stay here again in the future.
