Al-Amer Hostel

No air conditioning, lights in room didn’t work, pool was out of commission, and the boxed lunch was not worth it(local restaurants have better deals). Staff was great but not having any of those things mid summer made the Petra experience rough. Easy upgrades, hopefully they invest in themselves.

It was shared room and there wasnt curtain with other people so it was hard to sleep in the bright light in the room. Also there is not plug in the room for european adaptor and they dont have the changer they have just 2 shared plug and room was for 7 person. I put my phone until morning and still didnt charged properly. The staff was good but the sheets wasnt clean at all. Also internet connection was very poor in my room. It is not worth that money actually.

I booked female only room and every day they accidentally put male traveller in female only room. There was no door in this female only room and there was a curtain that didn't close. Female room was advertised as ensuite and washroom is not attached to the room. I went to Wadi Rum tour that was organized by this hostel and it was over priced and I didn't enjoy at all. There was no guide and the driver spoke no English. The camp that we went had little food for meals.

Nice hostel with super nice owner Abdallah! He gave me a great welcome and also gave me a upgrade of a room as there were not many tourists (everywhere in Jordan due to the war).

Ahmer was nice with us, he received us with good humor and he even invited us a classic jordán dessert. Although i have to say that we made a tour with him and things werent as we expected, i hope it was a missunderstanding and not a scum. He promised us a breakfast that never existed and he told us that we could go to petra without paying more than the price it was in the tour, but we had to pay the entrance to petra Park.

Thank you so much Rushdi for your hospitality! We originally booked the hostel away from the beach, but he helped us change our booking to the beach side instead which was very beautiful. Warning - there is music outside 24h. I had noise cancelling headphones and slept well but if you are a light sleeper, bring earplugs! We especially loved the breakfast in the morning, which included the most delicious falafel. Wifi for free. Lovely beach terrace. Drinking water, showers, microwave and kettle.

It was amazing staying at Al-Amer Hostel. Abdullah and Amer are very wonderful hosts. Breakfast was amazing! I got to meet over 15+ guests from all over the world during my 12 nights stay! Absolutely recommend this hostel! Hands down! Mashalla! 🙌🙏

Il proprietario e la sua famiglia sono gentilissimi e sanno comunicare molto bene in inglese (cosa non scontata) Viaggiavamo in 3 e ci saremmo dovuti fermare 2 notti ma cambiammo i nostri piani perché capimmo che Aqaba non era ciò che cercavamo per la nostra vacanza (ed anche per il caldo afoso di questa città 🥵) Togliemmo una notte di soggiorno ed il proprietario della struttura non ebbe nulla da ridire anzi ci aiutò a trovare una guida (che si rivelò stupenda) per il deserto del Wadi...

It was a nice experience in Al Amer. They threat me like family. Top place to stay.

This is easily my favourite hostel I stayed at in Jordan. The communal area was beautiful, food was great and Amer and Abdulla especially were amazing hosts. Cannot recommend more!

Abdallah was an amazing host. The free tea is lovely and the common area is super social. It’s very homely. I stayed twice, before and after wadi rum and would stay again.

I loved my time here. Amer and his family make you feel at home straight away. I moved after to their other hostel next to the beach where I could meet with fellow travellers. Abdallah gave us tips on where to eat, any activity and for the dives ! Absolutely loved it, see you soon !

Nice hostel in Aqaba! A bit further out of the city but still very much walkable. They offered diving and snorkeling. Nice hangout areas and Abdallah was very kind and helpful!
