Like Home - Chiang Mai

A big disappointment. When we got there, we waited for the host to arrive, and when she did, she told us the building was fully booked and that she would take us to another place for that night—without even apologizing. She put my suitcase on a motorbike and a stranger man took it away without my permission. Then we got on other motorbikes, carrying more large luggage, and followed her without knowing where we were going. We ended up in a location not even central as we booked.

Het begon bij het inchecken, online werd geïnformeerd dat we vlak naast oldtown zaten. Maar we moesten een auto in stappen 25 min lopen er vandaan. Daarna zagen we de kamer, grote gele vlekken op het kussensloop en kussen, vieze dekens, bed overtrek. Je zou haast zeggen dat het niet schoon gemaakt is. Verder was er geen lampen kap, vieze douchekop. Ook was de deur tot het appartementen complex altijd open. We hadden ook geen ontbijt en avond eten, omdat dat in het andere gebouw is. Honnêtement on ne comprend pas les bons avis, il doit y avoir plusieurs types d'accueil dans cet hôtel. Pour notre part nous avons eu la même expérience que certains commentaires, Nuy l'hôte n'a pas répondu avant notre arrivée et nous ne l'avons jamais croisée. Sur place quelqu'un nous a amené à un autre hôtel bien plus loin du centre ville, 20mn à pied demandant de conduire un scooter que nous ne voulions pas. La chambre était correct mais pas l'emplacement qui est mensonger. Ne co...

I stay in hostels often and rarely leave bad reviews. This time I booked a private room to treat myself, but it was a terrible experience. I arrived in the evening and no one was at reception. I waited almost two hours because staff were at a Muay Thai fight. Near midnight I was told my private room wasn’t available and I had to take a dorm. When I spoke up, another guest supported me and was kicked out. I left too. Very unprofessional and disrespectful. I don’t recommend.

We had such a bad experience here that we ended up leaving and not checking in. It was so unclean and unsanitary - there was dead fish on the floor for the cats, I got bitten all up my arms from fleas or mosquitos whilst I was sat in reception waiting. When we turned up they then decided to go clean the room and we were left waiting over an hour. The staff working here are clearly unofficial workers staying in the rooms. Total lack of professionalism and we ended up booking elsewhere. Avoid!

I had bed bugs!!! Do not go here. They did offer me a full refund but the whole place had really off / dodgy vibes. Wouldn’t recommend.

1. Check-in was delayed and due to that I left my luggage and went out for my previous appointments. 2. When I arrived at the room #2 the bed was full of bed bugs. 3. I left the room and tried to contact the staff but no one answered. 4. While in the front desk area trying to find another place to stay overnight, the cat was playing with a live rat. The live rat was found inside of the rice tray left uncovered since dinner time. And there is more that don’t fit this short space.

I think this place is a bit of a scam. At check-inn the staff told us that our booked room is not in the location we were at. So we got assigned a room in a different guesthouse (JJ guesthouse) that is at least a 15 min walk away from the main place (where breakfast and dinner was served). In addition the guesthouse we ended up staying in the end had actually cheaper fares than what we paid. They didn't give us any money back. None of this was communicated when we made the booking.

Don't do it. As discussed in other comments, upon arrival the owner informed us that our room was not available so She put us in a car with another member of staff and drove us a 20 min walk away where she happened to have another room... which was clearly in poor condition and had not been cleaned properly. We decided to book somewhere else last min on air bnb. As we tried to leave she was waiting down stairs and made it awkward. Never got deposit back just wanted to get out.

This was my first night in Thailand, and unfortunately, it was very disappointing. I arrived late and had to wait 45 minutes to check in because no one was at reception. The room smelled musty, the bathroom drain was clogged, and the next morning I woke up covered in bedbug bites. I had booked again for the Lantern Festival and asked for an alternative, but the owner never followed up. I really can’t understand the high ratings, as my experience was very poor. No recommendation!

Wonderful host who would go above and beyond for you, cooks you breakfast in the morning and dinner in the evening and can help with any bookings or bike rentals. The property itself gave you that backpacking feeling and it was in a lovely area of Chiang mai with easy access to everything Chiang mai has to offer. The only issue I’d say was the air conditioning machine didn’t work to full capability but apart from that, it was spot on

awesome place to stay. Nuy is absolutely amazing and really helpful. breakfast and dinner is really tasty. highly recommend

Die Besitzerin war die netteste Person, die ich in ganz Thailand getroffen habe. Für nur 600 Baht konnten wir ein Privatzimmer, ein Roller, Frühstück, Abendessen und kostenlose Wäsche genießen. So etwas Günstiges habe ich noch nie erlebt. Die Atmosphäre war nicht wie in einem Hostel, sondern als würde man mit einer großen Familie zusammenleben. Sie waren alle sehr zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit.

You will be captured by family vibe in this hostel. Even if you are not a social person you will have great time staying there, having breakfast and dinner together with lovely people with lots of stories. It is place to be in Chiang Mai.

Everything was amazing

Un endroit agréable! Belle rencontre, nourriture gratuite (déjeuner/souper) très t’es bonne, vélo gratuit et lavage! J’ai adorer

What a great place. Nuy is one in a million there's nothing she won't do for her family (as that's what you feel like when you are there).

Nuy is an amazing host! Her cooking is delicious and she is kind and helpful. I met wonderful people at this hostel:)

Amazing hostel, such a great atmosphere. Family breakfasts and dinners really make everyone socialise. Would recommend to anyone visiting Chiang Mai
