Hostel was good other than only taking cash for any food and drink but they charged me twice for the room, and are now ignoring my emails and not refunding the money to me

My experience was negatively impacted due to bed bugs that bit one side of my body. I showed these to the folks at reception who told me I was mistaken that 100+ red bite marks were mosquito related. Didn't appreciate that at all!
Please don’t pay by cash at the hostel. They would charge the same amount to your credit card again. They also didn’t respond to my inquiry about the matter and I had to pay double price for one night….
We were disappointed with this hostel despite its great location, vibrant international vibe, and effort in creating social events and maintaining a well-kept garden. For $50–$70/night, we expected much more. The private room had ripped, stained linens, uncomfortable mattresses, and a bad smell. The shared bathrooms poorly designed, the kitchen was dirty and inadequate for the number of guests. While good for socializing, the poor cleanliness and facilities made it feel like wasted money.
Great hostel in Livingstone where you can meet people and socialize. The pool area is great to spend a relaxing day while tanning. Facilities are great and clean but the kitchen could be improved and isolate better the cabanas and room to avoid mosquitoes to go in
Some hostels feel like a businessa nd some feel like a second home, this one very much feels like a business. $20 for a dorm bed is far too much considering how much money they must make on tours and the bar. That being said it is a nice hostel with a good atmosphere in a central location.
I stayed in a private room which, for $60ish a night, was far overvalued. There was no desk, fridge, TV, wifi, soap/shampoo, or other amenities you’d find in any hotel room of the same price. Upsides: Air conditioning and a nice shower, and the beds were comfortable. Besides that, the hostel was very welcoming. Lots of bright colors and great staff hospitality. The atmosphere was exactly as I’d normally anticipate from a hostel.
This is my go to place when visiting Livingstone. I've stayed at many hostel around Africa and the world. Jollyboys is by far the best! The only downside is that it can get a little noisy at night. So, for early to bed, early to ride travelers, like me, the evening noise can be a little much. But not enough to keep me from coming back each year.
Did not like the welcome I had. After riding 6 hours, I was told that I did not say thank you and say goodbye when I left last time…in front of people… . Also, told me my booking for a week which was not the case…apparently it was an attempt as a joke. Did not find joke good. Just increased my stress level.

I had an amazing time at Jollyboys. The staff is welcoming and helpful with anything you need. A special thanks to Ruth at the reception! It is a very chill atmosphere and it's easy to get in contact with other people. The food is delicious and there's a wide selection of dishes.

Super fun social hostel with lots of events and activities going on. The location is great to see Victoria Falls and even travel into nearby countries (Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia). While I didn't book a safari directly with the hostel, others did and had good experiences. The free airport pickup and shuttle to the falls made things very convenient.
Great place to stay , and cater for yourself for a few days. Kitchen is oldish but is clean, well organised and has everything you need. Rooms were wonderful and we upgraded to en-suite with air on. Amazing, hotel style!
Positive - a great hostel witha wonderful social atmosphere, bar and pool. Staff are very nice and helpful too. I stayed twice as long as expected! Negative - the bar closes too early, it should not be closing at 10pm on a Friday. WiFi does not reach the dorm rooms. No mosquito nets in the dorm I was in. All in all, fantastic, but some little issues that can couldbe very easily fixed. Recommended.

+ Great location, friendly staff and clean rooms with good AC. The free shuttle from the airport as well as to the falls was also a bonus.
- Wifi wasn't great. It doesn't reach the rooms and only worked in some areas. It's also a bit of a party place, so if you're older like me, maybe best to go somewhere quieter. I booked it to potentially have someone to go to the Falls with, which happened, but it's not my scene otherwise. Food also took forever.
Absolutely wonderful, straight 10’s. Nothing to complain at, at all. Everything was awesome.
Schönes Hostel mit gemütlicher Atmosphäre. Unser Zimmer und die Waschräume waren sauber. Das Essen sehr lecker und man hat die Möglichkeit selbst was zu kochen. Das wlan hat leider nicht zuverlässig überall funktioniert und ein paar mehr liegen am Pool wären schön gewesen. Würden jederzeit wieder hier übernachten.
Nice hostel with cozy atmosphere. our room and the bathrooms were clean. the food was very delicious and you have the possibility to cook yourself. the wlan unfortunately did not work reliably everywhere and a few more beds by the pool would have been nice. would always stay here again.
Loved my stay at jollyboys. It’s very lively and fun. The atmosphere is great, bathrooms are clean and it’s close to the center. Very friendly staff
The people are friendly , facilities are clean and the things to do accessible thanks to the staff on the suggestions. I met a lot of good people and will definitely come back in future.
The biggest con is lack of Wifi in the rooms (E-sims are non-usable in Livingstone & internet roaming is expensive). There is wifi in the common areas. Another con is their "free shuttle" to the waterfall was totally disorganized and took me somewhere entirely different, after being very late. So I had to pay 200 kwachas to get to the falls myself ( +200k back). Positives: Clean borehole water. Upmarket looks. Awesome aircon & mosquito-free room. Guest kitchen. Central location. good security.
We're father and son travelling . Jollyboys was The perfect place for us to stay . The accommodation was perfect for us. The organised tours last minute. The food was of a good quality. But the main thing is that they organise trips into Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe. If you want go further a field it's a fantastic base to go and come back too. Bravo jollyboys .
Wir hatte einen sehr angenehmen Aufenthalt in diesem Hostel! Das Essen war wirklich lecker, auch wenn die Wartezeit leider ziemlich lang war. Dafür waren alle Mitarbeitenden unglaublich hilfsbereit und freundlich. Besonders positiv fanden wir den Pool und das große Angebot an Aktivitäten, alles war super organisiert und gut durchdacht. Ein weiteres Highlight: die zutrauliche Katze, die immer mal wieder vorbeischaute. Alles in allem ein tolles Hostel, das wir empfehlen können.
We had a very pleasant stay in this hostel! The food was really delicious, although the waiting time was unfortunately quite long. For that all the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. We found the pool and the wide range of activities especially positive, everything was super organized and well thought out. Another highlight: the caring cats, who would stop by from time to time. All in all a great hostel, which we can recommend.
Great stay. I had a private room with bathroom which was lovely but the shared bathrooms were perfectly clean and fine. Lovely pool. Food is good, fairly priced (cash only)
Auberge très bien située, près du centre et de la rue principale qui va vers les chutes Victoria et le Zimbabwe. Chambres doubles tout confort, climatisation, prises électriques européennes. wifi de bonne qualité. Repas sur place possibles. Je recommande.

It’s says jolly boys is the best hostel in Zambia and now I know why! Great food, amazing staff and a great atmosphere. Wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else!
