we had a room with no windows and the ac did not work. Also it rained and everything got flooded
Wouldn’t recommend for solo female travellers - didn’t feel very safe/secure.
The owner is a nice guys who is very helpful and has lots of tips for around Kuching. We had the double private room with ensuite bathroom. It was clean! There was not a lot of room to store your stuff. Only a few hangers on the door and one small shelf. The tap of the washbasin was loose, so you need two hands to put the tap on. Next to this, the tap is so small that you can't even properly was your hands. Bed was okay-ish. Only springs, no foam. A/C was pretty dirty. All in all a high...
Great place to stay at kuching. As above mentioned: good security you need a key cart to enter the premise and a key to open your rooms. Great location. Good facilities. Water is available for 1 or 2rm. As for negative feedback: 1. We booked one of the private rooms with shared bathroom and the only problem I would mention is that there was mold on one of the walls. We mentioned this to staff and they said they would take care of it. 2. The pool is out of use and is empty.

Very nice and helpful owner. The room with ac is really good and the shower is warm with a lot of pressure. Toilet and shower could be little cleaner and I miss a place to chill/ area to meet people.
Hostel has seen better days, pool is out of commission, rooftop terrace has rotten floor boards and some toilets marked as out of order. Cleaning not done daily in bedrooms, toe nail clipping on toilet floor was still there after 5 days. On the plus side, beds were comfortable, breakfast was provided ,cereal,toast and bananas and the location is 10 minute walk from waterfront. There are also lots of cheap restaurants nearby.
Ein nettes kleines Hostel, was zentral aber ruhig gelegen ist. Es war sauber und es gab ein Frühstück. Die tolle Terasse ist leider ganz schön runter gekommen und es könnte mehr aus den Räumlichkeiten gemacht werden.
It was a nice little hostel, which was central but quietly located. it was clean and there was a breakfast. the great terrace unfortunately fell down quite nicely and there could be more done with the premises.
pool was not the nicest. owner was lovely but he is the only guy working there. was clean
The good thing about this place is that it is super secure, you have to use an electronic keycard to get in. Another positive is the amount of tips and information they give you upon check in. Downsides: a lot lot of hairs in the shower of my private room, "pool" was out of order and there was no social atmosphere.

My stay was great! The hostel room was super nicely decorated, the breakfasbreakfast was good, but my stay was especially great due to the friendly and forthcoming host.
Das Hostel liegt wirklich gut, nur 15 Minuten zu Fuß von der Waterfront entfernt. Direkt nebenan gibt es außerdem einen Waschsalon und viele gute Restaurants. Der Mitarbeiter war total sympathisch und hat uns mit guten Tipps weitergeholfen. Würde auf jeden Fall wieder hier übernachten!
The hostel is really well located, only 15 minutes walk from the waterfront. directly next door there is also a laundry and many good restaurants. the staff was totally friendly and helped us with good tips. would definitely stay here again!
Basic amenities but you got everything you need. Great wifi and AC. Wayne helped us out big time by driving us to the airport in the early morning when we struggled to find a ride.

Really great hostel! The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. Toast with toppings or cereal for free breakfast. Good water pressure in showers, clean bathroom and rooms, air con works well, and the location is very close to everything and the bus stops! Loved it.

Really nice hostel with very friendly and helpfull personal. We hat a double room with window and ac and it was really spacious. There are also lots of food places around and its only a short walk to the city centre.
The dream hostel! Super clean with lovely decor. Rooms were really comfortable and it has a huge communal space with a good selection of food. Honestly the best hostel in Kuching by far! The guy who works there is incredibly friendly and always willing to help or offer ideas on where to go. He even managed to help my boyfriend find a place to get his camera fixed and always greeted us with a smile. The whole place has a lovely feel to it and we were actually sad to leave it!

Hallo liebe Reisende. Ihr werde auf der Suche wahrscheinlich auf viele Hostels kommen, wie auch das Marco Polo Hostel. im gesamten ist das hier aber deutlich besser. Ich bin in beiden gewesen und leider wurden wir vom anderen besitzer gescamt... was etwas traurig ist. Grundsätzlich war das Hostel oke, aber das Check in Lodge ist deutlich besser. Ich hatte einen sehr guten aufenthalt und viele leute Kennengelernt
Hello dear travelers. you will probably come across many hostels on your search, including the Marco Polo Hostel. overall this one is much better. i have been to both and unfortunately we were scammed by the other owner... which is a bit sad. basically the hostel was okay, but the check in lodge is much better. i had a very good stay and met a lot of people
Fabulous hostel, the guy who ran the place was amazing he was always so friendly, attentive and helpful! Free brekkie was nice, options of cereal or toast and teas/coffees. There’s normally a small pool but was broken when we went but gave us the option to go to a public pool and reimburse which is very kind of them. Showers, toilets, room was clean. Location was decent a lot of nice restaurants etc near by, bus stops near by to get to attractions again. Fantastic value for money!
