Food was yummy, location is also good. They had a family in the 10 bed form, so the vibe was not too solo traveller friendly. But othee than that value for money. Also if you need a locker Pl carry a small lock. They have trunks below bed to place uor stuff, you bed to have your own lock. The 10 room form is on 2nd floor, there is no water there so you have to go to ground floor to get.

Unfortunately it wasn’t a good experience. If you are travelling and you look for a hostel where you get a warm welcome I recommend to choose a different hostel. Also especially if you travel alone and would like to get some help about potential Trekking sides or other activities you can do in Ooty don’t expect to much help from the team at the desk. But if you do a trek call Massi he is a local guy and has lots of experience and is good fun. Sadly I think that place is overrated.

Well, it's a corporate hostel at this point. Their focus is more on the domestic crowd that comes for a comfortable weekend getaway. And for that weekend getaway it's a great place. But it's not a typical travellers hostel where the staff will sit you as part of the community.

good place but for mixed dorms washroom and bathroom facilities are bad ... it's outside the dorm room at the end of the hostel property which makes it difficult to use

It was a good stay here. I booked the 4 room dorm and it was on the opposite side of a door to the kitchen and was noisy when trying to sleep early. The food was good and the location is great.

Fine, nothing special. Staff helpful but kind of cold, charging for a fire seemed a bit ridiculous, like they aren't interested in fostering a social environment.

Das Zostel liegt ein wenig außerhalb des Stadtkerns auf einem Hügel mit wunderschönem Blick auf die Stadt und in ruhiger Lage. Es ist ein guter Ort um Menschen kennenzulernen. Jeden Abend gibt es ein Lagerfeuer. Die Köche kochen täglich über den Tag verteilt leckeres Essen frisch. Das Zimmer war sauber, mit Schließfächern und Steckdose am Bett ausgestattet. Die Mitarbeiter waren freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Nice room and location

This provides a gretgreta place to overlook Ooty. The food is great. The 8pm campfire is a nice way to meet people. It is only a 10 minute from the bus station. The location is a bit far from anywhere else though.

Overall good hostel close to the center of Ooty and main bus station, comfy beds, good food, nice vibes, I can recommend it

My first experience in Zostal was very good. I met new people. Food was yum! Overall good experience.

Awesome Stay experience in Ooty, with good hosts and delicious food. You'll be entitled to late night star-studded sky views , and bonfire experience was just icing on the cake.

The most friendly and helpful staff. Great place do meet people. Loved the campfire in the evening.

A very memorable experience at Zostel Ooty.A very helpful staff + a friendly manager made the stay comfortable. The perfect destination for solo travelers. The location is hilltop with a beautiful view of the city.The temperature is very chilly at night but the bonfire makes up for it! Value for money in terms of food is spot on. I'll recommend this place to everyone who is travelling solo. You'll definitely make some friends here.

The rooms were spacious and the beds were clean and spacious. It was super easy to meet people here. There are spaces indoors and outdoors to chill. The female dorm was extremely loud. It’s right next to the kitchen/dining area so you’ll hear everything going on. You’ll also hear people walking upstairs. If you don’t mind that, it’s a good room. But I personally would go for the mixed dorms.
