+ In dit hotel rekenen ze graag onnodig kosten aan voor een trouwe klant. Geld primeert boven een goeie klant verhouding. Soms levert jou dat op termijn minder op als je steeds onderste uit de kast wil. Je kunt natuurlijk alijd puntjes op de i zetten maar er bestaat ook zoiets als menselijkheid en redelijk zijn. Daarom kan ik dit hotel niet aanbevelen. Je merkt het ook aan de inrichting die gebaseerd is op zeer goedkoop. Met de bedoeling om vooral veel geld te verdienen en weinig service te bieden. Wellicht ook de reden dat de hotel kamers nu reeds te koop staan op immo web. Doe zo verder.
- De mentaliteit waarmee ze hier zaken doen. Men heeft totaal geen interesse in klanten die regelmatig terug komen. Meer op snel verdienen voor zo min mogelijk service.

- The worst hostel ever. Bathroom smells horrible and I did not receive any information for checkin. It seems to be sent via WhatsApp instead of email (I did not use WhatsApp). The night staff is not friendly at all.

+ It was very bad experience, nothing was good at all starting with the reception and end with a dirty and stinky room. You can see the photos what I’m going to share.
- Dear all, Unfortunately I didn’t want to write a bad review about the hotel but I have too. This not my first time and no my last time in the Ash but this is the most bad experience I ever had started with the reception girl on 10/08/2025 in the morning at 8.30 ( Yulie) the attitude and unknowingly and today as well with girl who working today (Merel).This the problem when the place hires people doesn’t understand at all what they do and they think that they own the hotel. I made a reservation for 4 nights and I arrived yesterday and I asked through the WhatsApp of the hotel and I asked the reception face to face for lower bed and I got completely different one. The room was really dirty and stinky and the shower and the toilet were like a public toilet in the street. The garbage can was almost full. I explained my problem to the night manger and he said he will make a report and will solve it in the morning. The morning I met the receptionist ( Merel) wooow attitude. Without even know the problem or read the report she said to me what you want the hotel to do for you in away that can really make you upset and you don’t want to stay anymore. After all I hope that the hotel management can really choose the people who working with them because in meanwhile the hotel will lose the reputation and for sure the clients. The main purpose if you working in the hospitality to make your guests satisfied for sure with a logical way for both sides not with the way I saw from (Merel and yulie). Sorry for my long review but the explanations are important.
+ Guys I paid crazy amount of money for one night. One night before Tomorrowland. They didn’t even have a working fan in the room. It was sweating all night my whole festival was affected for this

+ Lo único que me gustó fué la ubicación. Tuve que buscar alojamiento repentino para una noche por una emergencia y no volvería ni lo recomiendo. Pagué un precio más elevado que en los hostels de lso que venía enlos que las instalciones eran maravillosas. Fue un gran contraste.
- Las camas literas son muy muy bajas, no tienes locker grande para maleta y necesitas candado de seguridad por que la locker no funaciona con la tarjeta de la habitación como en otros lugares. Llegué agotada a las 21h y tuve que hacer la cama yo mismo, como norma del alojamiento, siendo bastante dificil e incómodo, tuvimos que quitar el colchón de la cama para poder meter la sábana bajera que era mas pequeña que el colchón y terminñe agotado y sudando, y cuando te marchas has de quitar las sábanas de nuevo y bajarlas a recepción. Pasé por la puerta del hotel 2 veces y no se ve el letrero fácilmente. Además la habitación compartida era muy muy pequeña, sin aire acondicionado, con un ventilador de pie.
- Last month I had a booking and got a message that reception was closing early at 11:30, in 14 minutes, so check in physically at 21:30, or online with their FLEXIPASS system. This system failed, specifically not uploading one of the ID pictures requested - despite different attempts with different jpgs at different times. This is denial of service. I messaged them and phoned but their automated phone system said call booking.com, whose phone system said call the property. Rather than drag my case around the city in 30C+ heat for the whole day, I found another place to stay. Subsequently I got a message from The Ash which failed to acknowledge anything I had explained to them, and was clearly a cut-and-paste job of the terms and conditions. They refused to return to my money. In two long calls to booking.com, extremely sympathetic human agents understood the problem, but claimed they are only a mediator (not true, they provide a service so have a responsibility for customer care). Booking.com tend to defer to the property, and when there is a bad actor at the property, as in the case of The Ash, they let them get away with it. In conclusion: (1) any algorithm-driven check-in system may be liable to fail - so be wary. (2) The Ash denied service, kept my money despite being at fault, hid behind Terms and Conditions, and 'ghosted' the issue (3) don't count on booking.com to resolve any issue with a property acting in bad faith.

Overall very great property and great place to meet people. Only few knocks are 1 tell me why it’s a student hostel and there was like a 55 year old dude there idkkkk. And 2 I labeled my food and seran wrapped it and someone ate my food so BE CAREFUL W FRIDGE.
This was a very disappointing stay after reading very positive reviews. We ended up having to leave after 1 night, and eat the cost of our 3 night stay as no refund was allowed. The beds are so tiny, if you are taller than 170cm you will struggle to fit . The private rooms are clean but very spartan and bare. You're only given one towel for everything, and there isn't even hand soap at the sink, instead it's inside the shower (???). No AC nor any amount of airflow, so room was hot and stuffy.
Black mold in the shower and sink. I reported it, but reception denied it and promised daily cleaning—which did not happen. Not worth the money! No hand soap provided. Also, loud noise at night (knocking, slamming doors, shouting) disturbed my sleep.
Really nice hostel, and in a great location too. Great public transport links close by, but was easily walkable for me. Staff were great. Really nice common areas, bar, kitchen etc. No lockers in the room, only small ones outside, so that would be the only improvement.
het personeel was erg aardig en was een goede hulp toen mijn gemixede kamer alleen maar jongens waren. Ik vond het wel lastig om contact te hebben met anderen omdat in de avond de common room werd gebruikt door een school. hierdoor kon je daar niet meer zitten en was je bijna verplicht om op je kamer te zitten. de locatie was wel top!!
The staff was very friendly and was a good help when my mixed room was only boys. i did find it difficult to have contact with others because in the evening the common room was used by a school. because of this you could not sit there anymore and were almost obliged to sit on your room. the location was top notch!!

Erg vriendelijk personeel. Het hostel zelf was niet geweldig. De bedden waren oncomfortabel, er was niet echt een sfeer en vieze badkamer voorzieningen
The hostel itself was not great, the beds were uncomfortable, there was not really an atmosphere and dirty bathroom facilities.
Everything was perfect. So close to the flixbus bus stop and not far from the central station. Great decor, quiet, friendly staff, spotless room. Couldn't recommend them more.
Overall a good hostel but the reception wasn't exactly friendly, and the room was a bit odd because the beds did not have curtains (which I've barely ever experienced in a hostel), the bed lights were in the middle of the bed making them a bit useless, the plug was there too but there's no easy spot to place the phone or larger devices. Other than that the hostel layout is nice and well placed. Pretty good price point.

Place and staff are great, lovely people working there. Beds should have curtains just to have a little bit of privacy. Also I was in a 4 persons dorm and it felt like we were 12.. These people were so loud (at 1am) it was awful.
I stayed in a double room which was v clean & comfortable & at back so v quiet. The staff were v helpful & available which made my stay so much better.
we woke up with bites in the morning and assumed it was bed bugs, they changed our room and striped the old one
The room ventilation is terrible. The rooms are so narrows and the sink in the room is barely enough to wash your hands properly. The staff are great, the locations not bad however there really isnt any social activity happening here at all.
Loved this hostel the staff were amazing and everything was very clean, perfect location close to the station made life so much easier, would definitely stay here again. Only downside is that it wasn’t very social, there was a big range of people staying here from kids on a school trip to businesspeople on work trips.

Really nice stay! Staff is super friendly, room was clean and well maintained. I stayed in a private room which was spacious and had everything you need. Only struggle was with the check in process: I never received an email to check in online and as I arrived late on Sunday (after reception had closed), I was worried I would struggle to check in. The night manager came quickly to help however. Wish the process was explained a bit better beforehand.
Sehr gutes Hostel!!! + die Lage war super!! Der Service und die Mitarbeiter warten sehr sehr gut und sehr nett! Das Hostel selber war sehr ruhig, Frühstück klein & fein, aber top! - dass ein oder andere könnte in den Zimmern erneuert werden, Bsp. Duschkopf. Im Bad befand sich in den Fugen Schimmel, welches schon ersichtlich zu gespachtelt wurde. Die Sauberkeit war völlig in Ordnung! Schimmel in den Fugen finde ich persönlich nicht schlimm. Es ist aber definitiv vermeidbar.

Duschkopf. im Bad was in the Fugen Schimmel, which was already visibly too spatched. the Cleanliness was completely in Ordnung! find Schimmel in the Fugen I personally not bad. but it is definitely avoidable.
