Villa 92 City Stay

Als ich dort war war ich die einzige - sehr gruselig. Der Mann war total lieb und hilfsbereit aber das hat’s nicht wirklich besser gemacht. Das Bad war sauber aber auf den Bettlaken waren Flecken und ehrlich gesagt gab es glaube ich auch Bettwanzen!! Ist sehr gut gelegen aber würde nicht wiederkommen

Quite a dodgy place… very dark and a bit shady. The hotel manager is a weird old guy. I had to argue with him to get the remote for the AC in the dorm room because they usually take it away to save electricity. Lol. It’s okay for one or two nights, but it feels like a haunted house.

Staff were rude and unhelpful, place was clean enough but the beds were rock hard. The area around the hostel felt unsafe to walk at night.

L’établissement est très propre et vraiment proche du centre ville. Cependant si vous cherchez à faire des rencontres ou passer une nuit au calme c’est pas l’idéal. C’est assez bruyant et il n’y avait quasiment personne quand j’y ai passé une nuit. Pour une nuit c’est très bien.

The stay was ok. When I checked out the next day and wanted to explore the city a bit, it was not possible to leave my luggage there. Only if I would book another night. In this respect my so far bad hostel in Sri Lanka.

Outside door is often locked and you have to ring to be let in which usually takes a few minutes. Bed slats were broken. The walls were mouldy and the room stinky without a window to let in fresh air. The toilets were very clean and the air conditioning worked. Cheap hostel if you are only looking for a place to sleep and don‘t plan on spending any time there.

Wir haben zwei Nächte in dem 6er Dorm im ersten Stock verbracht. das Badezimmer und die Toiletten waren super sauber. Ein riesiges Problem ist aber der seeeehr schimmelige Geruch. Zudem waren die Betten durch die Luftfeuchtigkeit und den Schimmel feucht. Die Klimaanlage wird erst ab 3 Personen angeschaltet, lässt sich aber über die Fernbedienung nicht in der Temperatur verstellen. wir haben so gefroren. die Unterkunft liegt jedoch super zentral. man ist in wenigen Minuten in die Stadt gelaufe...

Positives: Close to downtown Clean Very nice owners Negatives: Right next to a mosque, so you will hear the call to prayer at 4:45am!!! No social atmosphere You need to buzz to get in outside business hours, which can disturb the guests No breakfast options

wifi didn’t work, in the bathroom there was barely any privacy but it is very close to the train and bus station and the restaurant next to it was really good

You get what you pay for. The beds are rock solid and you have no control over the AC as they take the remote away into another room. It was freezing cold. Rooms are tiny. Its more a bed for a night rather than a hostel so if that’s what you’re looking for it’s fine

For one night it was totally alright, there was no one really there so it’s definitely not for meeting people but I wasn’t mad about a private room for the price, the showers are also alright and the staff was veryy nice!

Myself and two friends stayed here in January 2026 for one night. The hostel owner is super friendly and welcoming. We stayed in a 4 bed dorm which was quite small, but okay. The bathrooms were great and clean. Well located and a great price. The hostel itself is in an old large building, which was cool. Would recommend!

Nice hostel, good for one or two nights The beds were comfy and clean with good storage. Wifi was good. The hostel was central and had good food places around it. The bathroom was not very well lit. Staff were nice.

L’établissement est très bien situé, le gérant est adorable et près à vous aider( merci encore à lui pour tout) ! L’endroit est très bien situé, malheureusement c’est un peu bruyant ( prévoir des bouchons d’oreilles).

Die Buchung über Hostelworl war nicht im System. Und bei starkem Regen hat es durch die Decke getropft.

We loved staying at Villa 92. Calm, clean and the Staff was really Nice.

Great location and lovely staff

Good location for train and food. Was directly under the AC unit - not the hostel’s fault but classic case of one guy insisting he was too hot and kept the AC on high while the rest of the room felt cold.

Amazing service, the manager is a super nice guy and makes sure you feel very welcomed!!!

The location is perfect, just 5 minutes walking from the train station and 10 from the bus’. The owner goes above and beyond to ensure your stay is perfect. The beds are comfy, we had an AC in the room but we did not need it since the ceiling fan was enough. The locker was large enough to hold my big backpack. The lake wasn’t that far neither. Everything about this place is perfect!!! #GlobeSpeedy #SpeedyAroundtheGlobe

Nice hostel for a quick stay in Kandy. The owner is lovely and chatted away with us over breakfast

Petit hostel très simple, on était pas nombreux quand on y a dormi mais c’est pas plus mal Très bien placé dans le centre ville, à 15/20min du temple Un peu bruyant la nuit mais ça nous a pas empêché de dormir L’eau pour la douche n’est pas froide mais pas très chaude non plus, mais ça suffit amplement

Manager / staff were lovely! Good sized room. First room we had smelt of sewerage we got moved to a different one which did not however the aircon was dripping straight on to the pillows so couldn’t turn it on. Room was fine but bathroom had a bit of mold etc, not too bad though. Tv worked well had good sports. Location not much around but close enough you could get a tuktuk. Front manager guy organised driver for us he was so lovely! Atmosphere was off season so nothing too exciting :)
