Hostel Roots

hostel was fully booked, except my room was suspiciously empty. turns out the room was full of bed bugs. obviously they knew the room had bed bugs yet still decided to place me there. i got refunded and laundry got reimbursed, stuff members were friendly.

Nice clean hostel with cosy chilling area and clean facilities. No kitchen or lockers in rooms, and very expensive for what you get, but it seems to be the only hostel in Tilburg.

No limpian las habitaciones hasta que te vas. Es tipo albergue con literas, aunque hay una habitación individual. La entrada hay que hacerla temprano xq luego no hay recepción, y si la tarjeta deja de funcionar y llegas tarde igual duermes en la calle.

Après avoir fait pas mal d’auberge de jeunesse en Europe je dois avouer que celle ci n’a pas un super rapport qualité / prix. Les installations sont vétustes. Le personnel n’est pas très agréable et les horaires d’ouverture de la réception ne sont pas très pratiques. Bon emplacement pres de la gare mais heureusement ce n’était que pour 2 nuits…

Was ok, maar ook niet meer dan dat. Locker stonden niet op de kamer. Fietsen stalling zou ook wel wat netter en beter mogen voorzien worden. Bovenstaande kan je bezien als iets dat beter zou kunnen. Maar niet onoverkomelijk. Het ontbijt daarentegen vond ik beneden alle peil.

A perfectly acceptable option as the only hostel in Tilburg, but room for improvement. Great location by the train/bus station, clean, and staff was helpful when I needed to change my booking dates. However, some issues. Guests were BLASTING music from their speakers with their door open until 1am and staff knew but didn’t do anything; made it impossible to sleep. The receptionist checking me out didn’t have cash access so I didn’t get my $20 cash deposit back. Finally, no lockers in the r...

This place was seriously the best. Super convenient location from the train station, really spacious rooms, and incredible vibes. It's listed as having self catering facilities, but I couldn't find any. The showers were really nice though, the best I've seen in any hostel so far. The doors block out most noise, and my room had blackout curtains, so it actually stayed dark while everyone was sleeping. Really comfortable, safe, and convenient! The staff were really friendly too and accommodating.

had such a great time here! the staff and volunteers are definitely the best part, making sure everyone’s having a good time and enjoying the city! the rooms are great and spacious and I love the common room and bar. the bathroom and shower on the top floor could’ve been a bit cleaner, but that’s my only downside really

Pleasure to be there

Overall pretty good place to stay! Had to change rooms bc I changed my travel plans, and th second night street-level room was loud. The place could really benefit from upgrading to pods instead of bunks. But the rooms were clean and well-equipped w outlets and such, and the staff couldn’t have been nicer. Social vibe, which wasn’t my deal, but may be yours.

Can’t fault this place! For the only hostel in the city it does a great job at providing a space that’s clean and has close to everything you need in Tilburg. Hostel is not super social but a lot of people stay there for techno/hardstyle events if you’re there that weekend you’ll have a lot of friends to go with.

Wat een fijne plek om te verblijven. Bij aankomst zeer hartelijk ontvangen en de sfeer is erg gezellig, vertrouwd en sfeervol. Zeker een plek om nog eens terug te komen als we in Tilburg of omstreken een slaapplek nodig hebben.

Very good location. Clean room but no lockers. My first night I booked a mixed dorm which was downstairs, right next to the outdoors area where the staff hang out. They stayed up very late talking outside our room, they seemed lovely (and their conversations were very interesting haha) but it was a little bit annoying. My second night was in a female only dorm and that was good.

We was here for Decibel Festival. Hostel has a good location, for move with bike or shuttle bus. Good room if you wan quiet.

Very great hostel with nice clean rooms. I stayed in a dorm and it even had AC! The staff is very nice and everything was perfect. I’d also recommend getting the breakfast. It’s very good for the price.

Clean and tidy facilities, including bed, toilet, and shower. Good air flow with a window and enough light. Friendly and welcoming staff. Convenient location with easy access to both quiet spaces and nearby nightlife. Everything went smoothly and met my expectations.

Very cosy and clean place right across the station. Good shower with hot water and decent water pressure made me feel like home. I felt very safe as it was quiet and my room mates were friendly. However, if you are looking after new friends, I’m sure you could join the party at the living room. All in all: worth of stopping in Tilburg. Charge, wash up, enjoy the easy life in town with full of restaurants and terraces, and then only keep on travelling to hectic big cities 😊

This was so convenient to find from the train station. The building is inviting and well maintained. The green room we had was awesome with the balcony. The staff was very friendly and helpful upon check in. It has been one of my favorite places to stay so far!

Overall I was pleased with my stay there. Great atmosphere and super helpful staff. I had a good night’s sleep and the breakfast was individually prepared. My bike was securely parked in the yard. I guess the only thing was that some guests responded to the door bell in the late evening after reception had closed and suddenly there were strangers in the lobby.

We enjoyed our stay at Hostel Roots. It is situated in a beautiful part of Tilburg. Staff are friendly. Continental breakfast is reasonable. We would stay again.

The hostel is located just a few minutes away from the train station by foot, as well as near the city center. The cleanliness of shared facilities was great, though only one restroom and shower for a floor seems too little. In general, it was a pleasant stay (with a comfortable bed) and easy access by foot to explore Tilburg!

The staff is very nice the place is great and the rooms are big with 8 bed in one room! is great to have a nice time with your mates is very close to the centre and is cheap per night …. No🧢!
