A cochroach on bedroom curtain & in the bathroom. Dorms not clean daily. The bed base had a vacuum not supporting my body on the mattress at the lower back & hips area. I had turn base around for better supporr The bathrooms floors are mostly wet after usage. The duvet inner under the covers had yellow strains of dirt or sweat showing at the duvet cover opening. Hostell fees & backpacker fees are not joined. Few nights the bar area admitted non residence play loud music 2 distirbing sleep

The hostel is not clean, and the storage lockers are very dirty. There is party noise until early morning, and then construction starts from 10:00 until 17:00. If you want to party every day and can fall asleep despite all the noise, then this place might work for you.

This is the worst hostel I have been there is no quit time There is music and loud noise till 2 am it looks like a hostel full with teenagers . I had a hard time sleeping you would hear the music in all the rooms I suppose to stay 6 days but left after 3 days The kitchen is mostly messy

Horrible experience. It’s a filthy place, roaches everywhere, smelly, extremely noisy (it feels like you’re inside a club). I was harassed and followed to my dorm by a man there.

Stayed for fourteen days during December (Xmas and New Year’s). They literally opened my sealed luggage and stole a BOSE speaker along with pieces of clothing. The property did absolutely nothing to help. They will rent you a shower towel with a deposit. Since I had no local money, I had to leave 10 EUR. When checking out I completely forgot about it but the towel stayed in the room. When I contacted them about this, they provided absolutely no solution for me. Their answer in return was: �...

The staff was friendly but my main problem here were the bed bugs. I woke up my last day in extreme pain and went to the doctor who told me it was caused by bedbugs.. I had about 30 large welts all over my body that still haven’t completely gone away in over a week. Kind of put a damper on the rest of my backpacking trip.

It was supposed to be a private room in a hostel, but to get to my room I had to go into the dormitory, which was separated from my room only by a very thin door. I also didn't receive a towel, which should be present instead.

Absolutely disgusting, cockroaches everywhere!!!

My room was full of mosquitos and bugs...people were nice but would definitely stay somewhere else

It was one of my worst experiences with accommodation in Africa. The room had no door, no privacy or security. A lot of people came in all night. Uncomfortable, thin and worn mattresses. A lot of noise (inside and outside) at night with no rules of coexistence and respect. Very dirty, there were worms on the floor of the room. I can't say much about the atmosphere, but a very strange man slept with us who apparently had entered the hostel without paying, something that the owner warned about.

Staff are lovely but the rooms aren’t great. Beds are super wobbly, no curtains and only one power point by the bed and no others around the room, no light by the bed either and the sheets were dirty. I saw 3 cockroaches around the room and bathroom whilst I was there, it didn’t feel very clean! It’s also really loud and hot all night basically. The location is also a little dodgy at night. A good place if you’re keen to party but otherwise I wouldn’t recommend it

Amazing staff,beautiful hostel,allows you to braai(super important),has a bar and the atmosphere is great.Totally recommended,would defenatelly go again when in Cape Town.

The hostel is suuuper social! There are hostel activities every day and a lot of solo travellers! Unfortunately it is really loud and hot at night. The location is close to bars and restaurant, but i personally didn‘t felt super save along the street..

I loved staying here! The people were lovely, there were many fun activities to keep me entertained and the whole atmosphere was great. There is ample common space that is ideal for socialising with new people and making new connections. The rooms on the street side were a bit noisy, but that didn’t bother me, personally.

I had the most wonderful time at LSB. The staff and volunteers are extremly welcoming and friendly. The rooms itself are clean and the common areas are compfy with quiet spaces and hang out areas. The atmosphere and vibe is great and the group activities made my first few days in Cape Town truly special. If you feel like going out and party until 6am you will always find someone to join you, but you will also always find someone to join you for a sunrise hike or an afternoon at the beach.

LSB is the place to be especially if you are a solo traveler. The hosts are super helpful and amazing. They will ensure you have a wholesome budget friendly experience.

When I first arrived, I felt so overstimulated by all the noise and everythinh going on, but somehow this place grows on you. I left after a few nights, just to end up beinh there every day anyway so I ended up moving back and staying a month. The vibes are great, socializing has never been this easy. The best is the staff that make this place so lovely. Bar staff, receptionists, cleaning and maintenance, volunteers - fantastic job. Thank you for everything!

Outstanding stay with LSB. The complimentary room upgrade elevated the experience for my family. 10/10 rate!!!

Highly do not recommend for non-smokers.

Absolutely loved my stay at long street. The staff were so friendly I ended up extending my stay. Definitely go for it. They have fun activities every day you could join or just do your own thing

great backpacker community there! most people are from age 20 until 45 and from all around the globe. a few are remote workers, a few are travellers. you will find mates for going or hanging out, for going to the beach and also for planning a trip together.

Laidback hostel with amazing stuff, cozy area for socialising, and a bar. It is situated in a buzzy area with bars and clubs, so expect a lot of movement. The staff is super helpful, kind and doing their best to create a nice atmosphere between the guests. Also the place was clean overall. Can only recommend!

Best hostel ever

I had a generally positive stay at Long Street Backpackers. The hostel is very social, with daily activities and friendly staff, and it’s easy to meet other travelers. Security felt good with two gates, and the Wi-Fi worked well. However, my dorm had no AC or fan, making it very hot and humid at night, and the en-suite bathroom door could not be locked. The location is central but can feel a bit dodgy at night, so personally I’d choose another area next time.
