Also ich hatte ein Zimmer gebucht und hatte mich an den Fotos orientiert. Habe sogar etwas teurer bezahlt weil ich gerne ein Bett mit Holzwand und nicht nur Gardinen wollte. Vor Ort wurde mir ein Bett nur mit Gardinen gegeben. Dann habe ich gesagt das ist das falsche und ich würde zum richtigen in einen gemischten Zimmer gebracht. Das war aber günstiger. Auf häufige Nachfrage ob ich die Differenz in Bargeld zurückbekomme wurde mir gesagt nein. Und das Café war auch nicht offen die ganze Zei...

An employee asked me to leave a review, so here you go: This place was very disappointing after weeks of staying in much better hostels for less money across KL+Penang. Zero atmosphere even though my 16-bed dorm was full. Reviews say the host is a lovely person but I didn't get to meet her, and I was ready to move to a hotel after just 2 nights as I found it hard to sleep in the hot, stuffy dorm and hotels in Ipoh are much more comfortable and just as social for only a little more money.

Decent hostel if you’re coming for hikes and exploring but for the price per night it’s kind of small and cramped bed spaces with not the most comfortable duvet. Showers and toilets are okay, not enough between 2 rooms and it’s not the most social hostel I’ve been too.

Very tidy and calm hostel with comfy beds and modern facilities. Elisa was a lovely host. Was very quiet with little atmosphere and there isn’t a clear common area for backpackers (other than a public café).

Very good location, the staff are friendly, very clean but the rooms were different from the photos and only had a curtain to separate you from the bed next to you. It was not very social so i wouldn’t recommend it to someone trying to make friends but was quiet and peaceful. The cafe downstairs was also very nice to have breakfast at and you get money off when you stay in the hostel which was a bonus. I enjoyed my stay but wouldn’t stay for longer than a couple nights.

Een heel chill hostel. Het personeel was vriendelijk en behulpzaam en de ligging is echt super centraal. Ik vond het niet een super sociaal hostel.

Really nice and cozy hostel! They arrange nice activities (movie night and night market) and the owner is really nice. They also have really nice info package from Ipoh. One minus was that the dorm room smelled a little bit musty.

liked my stay here a lot. nice room and bed, staff is really nice, streetfood tour was super fun, only thing i didnt like was the smell in the bathroom… they could have emptied the bins more often

Weird smell in the doorm from the Wood I belive! 2 wc and 2 showers/ sinks for like 16 people! Nice and clean good vibe! Great with the whatsapp chat, to meet friends! Cozy bunks, need to have your stuff in the bed and most important outside the room in lockers! Free water, fridge for food! Very central in the city. Just nice place to be in Ipoh!

I had a great stay overall. The staff were super friendly and helpful, the atmosphere social and chill! Highly recommend that place

If you're looking for a chill hostel in a nice part of town, great beds, and a document with all the activities and best restaurants nearby, stop your search. Dé Cafe & Rest House is the place to be. Elisa is a wonderful host and will make your stay worthwhile. Don't stay just one day, because that will not be enough for the hidden gem that is Ipoh.

One of the sweetest hostel experiences I’ve had! Elisa does an amazing job making sure every guest is looked after and has what they need. She helped us plan our time and booked a train for us. Also one of the comfiest beds I’ve had in Asia. Clean, friendly, would definitely book again!

Elisa is a great host, she went above and beyond during my stay. Created a really social wholesome vibe in the hostel. And I love her Ipoh guide. Great location! Gorgeous - highly recommend!

Meilleur hostel à Ipoh !! Très bien placé, très grand lit avec de la place et un casier à l’extérieur. Très bonne ambiance également, pleins de rencontres garanties ! Les activités proposées via le guide que l’on vous donne à l’arrivée et via l’hostel sont top ! En particulier le marché de nuit :)

Elisa, running the hostel, is the sweetest! So if you want a local friend, this is perfect. Very relaxed vibe, as it is a smaller hostel. The only drawback for me is that there weren’t that many other backpackers, but still quite social and I met some really nice people!

loved it so much, Elisa the owner is the heart of this hostel. She creates a fun playful and save environment. very grateful I could stay there! therefore meeting people in the hostel was very easy. Had a great time

Really lovely place to stay in perfect location. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, they even provide a guide for the area. Not hugely sociable but they put on a movie night whilst I was there. The top floor female dorm was so cool, only thing was the shower was cold.

A lovely cozy, welcoming hostel in the heart of Ipoh. The staff make a great effort to make it feel homely and promote a social atmosphere. Also helpful with any questions with regards to onward travel. Visiting the night market as a group is a nice touch also!Would definitely recommend!

we loved our stay here! the location was great, and the food was lovely. we had a movie night in the cafe area which was perfect and such a lovely idea

Everything was clean, beds are huge and comfy, location perfect and the staff was super friendly! :)

Really enjoyed my stay at the hostel. There‘s not too much to do in IPoh but the hostel is in a good location, the seating area in the cafe downstairs is great, the staff is very friendly and they offer daily social activities. The beds are also very comfortable:)
