Pretty terrible to be honest. Extremely loud from the hostel nearby. Absolutely zero social atmosphere, all outdoor and indoor furniture was old and worn and gross. Bathrooms smelled terrible from the drains. Hostel is down a sketchy alleyway. No privacy in the dorms. Wouldn’t stay here ever again or recommend it to anyone.
Don’t stay here if you need WI-FI; I do online work so I asked if I could change my 2 night reservation to a one night after finding out the internet is worthless (the hostel was empty so I wasn’t costing them a sale) and the guy basically told me to kick rocks. Stay anywhere else if having internet is important to you
The staff were unfriendly. They charge you $5 to leave your bag there, even if you will be staying the next day or previously stayed. I was unimpressed with the room & my bed was covered in stains but comfortable. The hangout area is small on the rooftop. The property is secure but you cannot bring friends to hang out here. You can only enter with a key or ringing the bell and they check everyone to see if they’re a guest. I enjoyed Hostel Corazón much more and it was half the cost.
The hostel was very much against it, the staff is not really friendly/interested. The room was supposed to be 4 but was 5. And was more of a hut. The 5th guest was a regular who worked with paint so the whole room smelled like paint. The hostel is super neat. Positive note: the beds were great and the staff helped us look for something when we lost it. Besides we found it a shame we didn't leave our stuff (well for a fee) and didn't want to wait until our bus left either.
Not happy at all with our stay. Even though we had cancelled the first night in advance, they fully charged it. Receptionist was not flexible to consider any goodwill. The private room itself was f****d up, not clean and the blanket smelled really bad and was very dirty. The toilet flush in the en-suite bathroom did not work properly due to lack of water. Finally, for two laundry bags they overcharged us and claimed it was 6kg instead of 3kg we measured. No cooperation at all from staff.
First, it is not pleasant to go down the alley to the hostel. second, the rooms are not comfortable. there are unpleasant smells. need to be renovated. third, the toilets are rudimentary. there is no hot water for the shower.
I left the hostel a few days early, the doors to private rooms were shower doors, placed right beside the common are and kitchen, so noisy. Bed was so uncomfortable, much better value elsewhere
The hostel is fine but unfortunately it's right next to the biggest party hostel in town, so you can expect absolutely no sleep whatsoever. The music is so loud it hurts! Not Mandala's fault but unfortunately it made 2 nights here unbearable.
I did not enjoy this hostel. You have to walk down a long dark alley to get there because it is hidden off the main road. I booked a private room and it just felt dirty. The bathroom was gross and there was a vent open straight to the outside so there were so many bugs. The shower did not have any hot water and the sink barely had any water pressure, the water that did come out was yellow. Also without a doubt the most uncomfortable pillows and bed I’ve slept in a hostel. Also VERY loud.
Lugar para pasar una sola noche, es un edificio viejo, sin ambiente.
Place to spend just one night, it's an old building, no atmosphere.

No me gustó la ubicación del hostal.
I didn't like the location of the hostel.
Really nice and clean hostel with a nice kitchen. Unfortunately you can hear the party hostel all day. Except this, a really nice hostel I would recommend!
good location relative to the rest of the town and had good views. The towels were clean enough but pretty ratty. all the communal area furniture looked dirty/ripped up. Very walkable -as said in other reviews it’s down an alley which is like fine but sketchy. I hated that they held my ID for a key deposit, then when I tried to leave at 8am (when reception is supposed to open) no one came until 8:20 with a beer in his hand and not able properly process c/o & took out all guest IDs for me choo...
I only stayed here for one night and I didn’t love it. Lots of noise from Mr Mullet’s. Excursions organized by the hostel are a lot more expensive than the agencies. I found the kitchen and bathroom not clean. You also had to step through the shower to get to the toilet. The cat’s cute though.
The beds were quite hard so we didn’t sleep that good. On saturday we heard a lot of noise coming from Mullets hostel wat was behind our room. The other days were fine. The shower was okay but one day only cold water. The chilling area was nice and cosy and it is chill that you can get a drink there.
Great hostel! Beds were comfy and had the best pillows I’ve ever had at a hostel, like memory foam. Mr Mullet’s is right across so it’s super loud here until 11pm, but then the party ends and it quiets down. You have to go down what seems like a sketchy alley to get there and ring a doorbell on a gold door to get inside, but it’s all super safe. Friendly staff, and same day laundry service was a nice touch.
I liked this hostel, it had comfy beds, good facilities, and a great outdoor area with a great view. It's close to Mr Mullets so you will hear the parties in the evenings. It was easy to book shuttles and laundry from the hostel.
Nice hostel. Beds had basically no privacy (not bunks and no curtains). Not really much of an atmosphere either but was clean and got the job done.
Thank you for such a great stay! Close enough yet far enough away from the party. Great staff that are so accommodating. Comfy beds and big rooms. Love the kitchen for making meals. Upstairs hangout spot is nice to relax. Great hostel!
The hostel is well located in the centre of San Pedro, with the entrance down an alleyway. If you are driving the hostel at the end of the road has space you can use. We stayed in a private room that was spacious and clean. The bay windows gave a good view down to the lake. The communal area at the top of the hostel was great for meeting other guests and there are cheap beer/coke cans you can buy from a fridge. It is a bit noisy but that'll be an issue anywhere in central San Pedro.
Really great hostel, SUPERB kitchen, comfy, nice staff and friendly travelers. Only downside is there are only one bathroom per floor. If you’re someone who loves your baño time this may not work for you as they’re always occupied.
I was nice and clean and secure. The staff were helpful too. I found the atmosphere a little lacking and a bit too chill even though you can hear the party hostel nest door until 11pm. The location is a little hard to find but also very central.
Love this hostel, made many friends and really close to everything.
The hostel is unique. It should be noted that it’s close to other hostels that can be quite noisy.
I stayed for 2 nights and it was great. Felt safe and staff were nice. Beds are comfy n the rooms are spacious ( I did the 4 female dorm). You have to pay for a towel (15Q). The only thing that was meh r the bathrooms. The shower sucked tbh and bathroom wasn’t like super clean but not bad.
This was such a good hostel. I am glad I stayed here instead of Mr. Mullets. This hostel was chill and has a rooftop with views. Also, you can go to Mr. Mullets every night and have no obligation to stay there. the staff is amazing, the bathroom were clean. No bunk beds is a +. Stay here. Trust me!!!
I liked the hostel, especially the terrace with an amazing view. The kitchen has everything you need, the staff is super nice and everything is clean. But there is no social vibe at all.
Amazing hostel! The bed was really comfortable. The hostel has hot water and is clean which is really great!
The lady at the front desk wanted to forcibly keep the passport when I had a license. I had my reasons and she was teasing me in the face and she was not at all polite or wanted to give you the information. the rooms fine but the fact that it is a shared room could put curtains on every bed for privacy
