So Young Hostel

Nice and friendly staff. But I got bed bug bites everywhere, that killed my experience.

The location of the hostel is nice but the staff really annoyed me. They made many trouble of me changing beds: two time times in one day. The reason was « ah somebody told us that they prefer this type of bed.. ». They really annoyed me all day with this and at 8PM they change my bed to the top one. Moreover, the bed I had at the end was with no plugs and the light was not working. So do not think of going to toilet at night! For this price its not worth the trouble.

I did not love this place. Firstly, when I arrived, I was the last in the room, and yet someone had put their wet towel on my bed. Not only that, but another person had taken over the last locker. When I brought this up with staff, I didn't get support with getting settled. The air conditioning was also not working very well and the room was extremely hot at night. The showers did not have places to put your change of clothes and were extremely humid.

This place is massively overpriced for what it is. Showers barely work and staff isn’t there. It’s a joke

Careful if you’re renting a spot in the women’s dorm; the room is NOT as shown on pictures and it is, I tell you, not nice. The dorm is adjacent to the reception area, so be prepared to hear people coming in and out and talking loudly all night —> super noisy. The room was messy with other people’s stuff all around and wasn’t aired properly —> felt heavy and suffocating. Entry front door is locked properly, but the dorm’s door is NOT locking properly —> make sure to leave ur stuf...

Le lit est très dur et la porte de ma chambre faisait un bruit d’enfer. Donc chaque fois que quelqu’un ouvrait la porte, ça me réveillait. Aussi, ça a pris un bon 10-15 minutes avant que quelqu’un vienne me répondre à l’accueil alors que je cognais.

BEDBUGS!! Nice hostel but has a bedbug problem. My partner woke up covered in bites. I also literally saw one crawling in my bed.

I wasn't a fan of Heraklion, I stayed two nights and I wish I didn't. The hostel was incredibly quiet, not social, and the rooftop bar wasn't open. The room was musty and dark but the bed was comfortable and it had curtains. Staff were lovely. I just didn't feel that comfortable with the people in my room and I only met about three people in the hostel for the entirety of my stay. The showers don't have a shelf or hook. I wouldn't recommend staying here - go to Chania or Rethymno instead.

Pros - Good location, very secure, staff are really friendly and helpful (especially the guy with the nose rings, didn't get his name). Cons - Got eaten alive by some kind of insect on more than one occasion, lots of bites even wearing repellent in bed. Coed showers are small compared to female only showers

Unfortunately, the staff is not really welcoming. I am used to be shown around and so on. The hostel does not offer any activities and the staff also does not really do a good job to accommodate new people. The hostel is very clean and you have enough room in the dorms. Th terrace is nice. Easy to reach by foot from the bus station.

Sehr gemütliches kleines Hostel in guter Lage. Sauber und sehr freundliche Mitarbeitende. Einziger Kritikpunkt: Wände sind sehr hellhörig und in den Zimmern und den Bädern ist es sehr warm und stickig. Sonst alles top.

Overall good experience, staff were super friendly and hostel was clean. I stayed in early May, so before peak tourist season, but the atmosphere was only ok. The terrace and kitchen were empty most of the time so I didn’t meet many people other than staff

Incredible hostel, ended up staying twice as long as I had planned. Staff are super super friendly and it is obvious how much they care about this hostel.

The facilities were great and spacious. It had a great socializing section upstairs. The only thing I wish they could change is to have darker curtains. The lights from other beds were especially noticeable.

First time in heraklion and there was no receptionist in site when I arrived late afternoon.There was a keypad and ineeded a code to get in. I was able to find a whatapp contact number and get them to assist me. Very clean place and close to the airport.

Pretty good overall. The privacy curtains and the kitchen is good. The layout of the bathroom and showers is a bit strange and there’s no atmosphere.

One of my favorite stays! Idk how it didn’t come up first when I searched the city but trust me, stay here! It’s so clean, the kitchen is great, the bunks you can sit up in, there’s even women only showers

This (unfortunately only one) night was just comfortable and nice – and I don’t mean only the beds. From the welcoming until the goodbye and also the house itself. Would definitely book again whenever I’m back in Iraklio. Thank you so much, you’re doing a great job :)

This hostel is AMAZING! The air conditioning is awesome and keeps up with the heat! The lockers are nice and big so you can fit a lot in there. The showers were clean, drained well, didn’t smell like bad in anyway and the water pressure was good/the water warmed quickly and the shower head height was adjustable. The staff was so amazing the entire time- from check in, to putting up with my endless recommendations questions, to rooftop bar time!!So kind to me! Would HIGHLY recommend this spot...

Ce fut ma première expérience en hostel et j'ai passé un séjour très appréciable. Proximité avec bars, restos et commodités d'Heraklion, le rooftop est très agréable, il facilite et permet éventuellement d'y faire de merveilleuses rencontres. Aussi, l'accueil des volontaires et salariées fut également excellent.

Great facilities. Super clean. Good location. Only thing is not much of a social atmosphere at all, I stayed in a female only dorm. Everything else good though!

Had a great stay. There was a small problem when one of their tradesman took a long time to finish a job in our room, but the staff were not to blame and very apologetic - and it’s not a everyday occurrence, so the way they dealt with it is more a positive than a negative. Highly recommend. Suggestion: maybe they could offer a basic continental breakfast in the kitchen or on the roof, so it might be a bit more social. But plenty of social life within 20 metres.

Very great. Kind staff and good looking hostel.

Quite nice! My only complaint is that there was no air conditioning on the second floor of the building, which was not great on hot days. The staff were very nice here too! 15 minutes walk from the ferry and main bus station was manageable and fairly convenient for getting in and out, although it would be trickier with larger luggage.
