Overall the hostel appears tired and worn. Rooms were below standard. Worn mattresses and bedding, poor decor. Overall appearance was grotty/dirty. Showers were poor and took forever to warm up. If you shower for more than 30 seconds the shower tray floods. A light attached to each bed would help so as not to wake anyone sharing the room. Expensive for what is offered
The website (as of April 14th) stated check in was at 3:00pm. I arrived at 3:00pm and no one was on staff. A random backpacker notified me that no one was around and I'd have to come back at 5:00pm to check in since no staff would be around till 5:00pm. Our group had luggage and prior engagements for 3:30pm. Since we had no where to leave our luggage, we were forced to find other sleeping engagements. It was a terrible experience, because we ended up being late to our appointment.
Quarto mau cheiro, chuveiros com pouca água e ralo entupido.
If you can pay a little more I would go anywhere else. It’s much too crowded the rooms are super small there’s no space for your luggage, no lockers. The bathrooms are really bad, very dirty, there were just two toilets and you had to wait every time to use them. There were no outlets near the beds. We were in the basement and it was very dark people who stayed at the first floor maybe had a better experience .. I wouldn’t recommend it.
Super arrogant staff who was aggressive towards me for no reason. Have requested for full refund and would not recommend to any Asian female traveling solo
Very domp odor/smell in the rooms, bathrooms old and untidy (hair everywhere, smell), slow checkin (bring time with you), no parking lot, very unmotivated staff, WiFi doesn’t work, only two power outlets for a 6-bed-room
Shower and toilet facilities were not only awful but so dirty! Staff didn’t seem to want to be there and when I was making chat and asking about anywhere that served a particular food I just got a blunt answer. Advertised as with parking but it’s a tiny thin strip of 3 spaces out the back that was already full with guest and staff cars so I had to drive away and pay for parking overnight, and then walk back 15/20 mins. I only booked for parking included and I now wish I just went elsewhere...
Basic Hostel, broken beds
This hostel has a nice location close to the city center. My roommates were consistently friendly and respectful. There was a very large group of French children staying there, which made it difficult to use the common areas, but you couldn’t hear the noise from the downstairs room. That was a plus. All that being said, this has been one of my least favorite hostels. Cons: - musty/moldy/bad smells in rooms, hallway, bathroom - lumpy pillows and duvet, and my bedding smelled like body odor -...
The only good thing here was the people and location. The hostel shuts down between 12-5 which is the biggest pain in the bum. There were no lockers or storage at all for bags or smaller items. It was not clean and the facilities sucked.

Great place, very friendly and convenient. Nice staff, nice guests.
Very expensive for what it is. Beds arent comfortable at all, the room was very cold. There was only one outlet in the entire room. So to charge your phone, you had to leave it on the floor and get out of bed to turn off the alarm in the morning. The kitchen and common areas are really good.

Great location, helpful staff. Little bit annoying that there are no power outlets in the rooms, but that did make the downstairs area more populated and had some fun conversations.
I had a late arrival from the airport and a longer wait for my next train, and the Inverness Student Hostel was the perfect place to rest between travel. The staff was incredibly kind and friendly. The accommodations were clean and well kept. I would absolutely stay her again next time I visit Inverness for longer than a few hours.

This is my second time at Inverness Student Hotel, and somehow this stay was even more enjoyable! My only issue this time was coming in around 22:30, and trying to buzz in, as instructed. It just took a while for someone to come let me in, but otherwise was a great visit!
Nice place. But please change your laundry detergent to one without perfume.
There were bugs in the bathroom and the shower. The water didn’t drain properly in the shower, so I was just standing in dirty water. No outlets in the room to charge, until they miraculously installed ONE singular outlet the next day after complaints. The staff were ok. The bedding barely reaches feet, and I’m short. There were three toddlers during our stay and one farted in the bathroom for everyone else to smell. The floor was sunken in at the exit of our room. But it does the job I gues...
A homely and comfortable little hostel, that's perfect to spend a couple of nights in. The dorms, bathrooms and common area were very clean and there's a fully stocked kitchen to cook your meals. Located right next to Inverness Castle, which makes exploring the town very convenient.
Great hostel with friendly staff and cozy atmosphere, highly recommend!
All things considered, decent place to stay but the shower facilities were quite terrible. No vestibule area in which you can leave your clothes and it's not exactly the best idea to leave everything outside of your stall. The shower area didn't have a fan at all so it was constantly muggy. Kitchen and the actual rooms themselves were fine.
It was a great stay everything about the hostel was good but it’s really not a social hostel at least while I was there and there’s a 2:30 curfew.
I loved this hostel, beautifully clean and such a peaceful vibe. This hostel has one of the loveliest kitchens I’ve seen, it was the perfect place to explore Inverness from. (No lockers in rooms though)
This hostel is so cute! With multiple rooms to lounge, talk, or play games it creates the perfect atmosphere for any travelers! The staff is super friendly and the whole experience of staying there was wonderful! I met some of the nicest people and had such a great and memorable time!
good for students.
Bathrooms were overflowing so flowing out on the ground. The showers didn’t have proper ventilation and trash and dirt on the ground. Sinks didn’t drain properly or quickly. Bugs in bed from unclean window seals. Big stains on sheets and hair that wasn’t ours before sleeping in. Unclean kitchen utensils.
Amazing place! Looking forward to going back. :)
Ambiance conviviale et très chaleureuse, cuisine bien équipée et bonne localisation. Nous avons passé un très bon moment!
