Friends Hostel

This place feels less like a hostel and more like a private family home where guests are not happily received.. I found the dorms to be very clean and comfortable but the kitchen was constantly filthy my whole stay and was always occupied by an unfriendly grandmother who seemed to strongly dislike the guests in her home. It was an unpleasant and unsocial atmosphere and the door to the hostel was left open all the time giving direct access to the bedrooms to anyone walking by outside…

Pros: very friendly and helpful staff, comfortable bed, good location (though difficult to get to with trolley, as anything in the old town world be). Cons: kitchen not clean. There was food and dirty dishes left out overnight, and there was a bad smell from that. lounge not conducive to socializing. Heater in the room as well as hair dryer seemed broken.

Stayed in a few hostels in Tirana and this one doesn’t come out on top. It does the job but wasn’t somewhere I’d recommend.

Cute place, good location, didnt feel like a hostel because of the young children and the grandparents. If you just want a place to sleep, it’s fine.

Het hostel is goed gelegen. Alles was proper. De bedden hebben gordijntjes en de airco was heerlijk.

When I walked into the reception I thought it was someone’s living room. Atmosphere was non existent Stay at the other hostel up the road

The hostel itself is alright but the social atmosphere is missing. Socializing there is difficult since there is not really a common area. The staff is friendly and helpful and the dorms are clean, which I can not say about the bathrooms. If you are looking for a quiet place to stay by yourself, this place is okay but I have heard that the place to go to if you want to socialize is "Stone City Hostel". I wanted to go there but is was fully booked.

El sitio ofrece todos los servicios necesarios, buena zona de comedor donde descansar. Las habitaciones estan bien, y la zona de baños y duchas tambien estan acordes al precio. la cocina es grande y un poco caótica, hay demasiadas cosas. Hay que tener en cuenta que la propiedad tiene un perro que está dentro de la casa, si eres alérgico no es tu sitio.

Beautiful hostel, run by kind people! Felt so safe and welcomed! Also their coffee is great!

Le hostel était très bien situé! La famille à qui l’établissement appartient est vraiment incroyable. Ils nous ont offert un lift en auto pour se rendre à l’arrêt de bus, le matin où on partait et ont répondus à tous nos besoins!! Si vous aimez les chiens, les propriétaires en ont un qui rôde près de la réception, mais si vous n’aimez pas trop, il reste dans son coin et ne vous dérangera pas!

Lovely hostel with terrific views. Great accommodating family running the place. Highly recommend

Everything is great, it is just that you need to go uphill for 20min from the bus station to come to the hostel. But, the location is still pretty good since it is right in the old part of the town.

Amazing , this is a family owned business. Every member was amazing to us, including the dog.

We loved staying here especially because of how helpful and kind the owners were. Plus it was a super cozy space in the best location especially if your wanting up to the castle

Clean beds, comfy as well. Clean bathrooms, large spacious showers and toilets. Separate living space that is warm and friendly.

La famille est adorable. La vue de la terrasse est magnifique. L'auberge est a proximité du bazar.

really good experience! very cozy hostel with a beautiful view on the castle. the beds are very comfortable and the owners are amazing. Evina was so kind to drop me off at the bus stop the next day. Vasalina is a sweetheart and her English is so impressive.

Perfect hostel for people who are traveling through G town. The hosts are very nice and the breakfast is 💯 Spent 3 nights both in dorms and the private room !

Great little place to stay in Girokaster! The terrace is lovely. Atmosphere was good but that’s more so from the guests than any organised events. Good for a stop in Girokaster and great to see the city of a night

Stayed here for one night and definitely liked the cozy atmosphere. Can't comment on the social aspect but it is not far from the main old town area so an easy walk to the restaurants, stores and castle. Cleanliness was good and staff was friendly. Would recommend for backpackers passing through and couples mainly.
