The 17 Hostel

do not book the women only dorms, they will place you in a room with men regardless. I had paid for a woman's only room and the first 2 nights were ok but on the third 2 men were staying in the same room. One of the men was drunk and fell asleep in thecommunal bathroom as well. I did not feel safe in that environment.

We didn’t stay at the 17Hostel but transferred to Macarena Beach Hostel (don’t know why). Ended being in a 12 persons room instead of 6. Not clean. No locks on toilet… overall not a hostel where I’ll go back even if the owner was nice.

We had not such a great experience. The rooftop was really nice and I think you could have a lot of fun there. However, we did not feel comfortable because the room, bathroom and kitchen were not clean and there was only one bathroom for the floor without AC. In addition, when asking for help, the communication was difficult. Tommy the owner was nice, but he usually is not there and only came over due to our issue. To be honest, I would not recommend staying there.

Not one of the best hostels, my biggest problem was that it only had 2 toilets and showers for the whole hostel which really didn't work in a place where everyone goes every day to the sea.. definitely not value for money

A relação qualidade-preço é aceitável, mas a nível de higiene deixa muito a desejar. Os lençóis e capas de edredão parecem não ser trocados entre hóspedes, o que é bastante preocupante. A cozinha também não é muito limpa. Além disso, há bastante barulho à noite devido aos bares próximos. Por outro lado, o staff é super amável e o ambiente é descontraído e acolhedor.

There's not really a hostel atmosphere, everything is kinda improvised. The Bar from downstairs is very loud and there is only one bathroom on one floor which is as well not very clean and not up to date. It also looks like the owner is staying with friends in one of the dorms, kinda strange. But the Lady at the Check-in was very friendly and the dorm had a balcony. Overall, would not stay again.

There was no hot water in the shower of my room, my friend didn't have a locker key for his locker, it's right next to a bar so it's incredibly loud through the night and ended up with a 5cm scratch on my upper leg - I'm not sure if it was from the coils of the bed/frame or if it was bed bugs.

Destaco la amabilidad y coordialidad del dueño (Tomy). Los voluntarios no limpiaban los baños ni el resto de los sectores. Ademas, tenian mala predisposicion para colaborar con alguna inquietud de los huespedes. Tiene muy buena ubicacion y se respeta el silencio luego dde las 23 hs.

Absolutely lovely staff!! Very welcoming. Wasn’t the cleanest of hostels I’ve stayed in. There was no sink in the upstairs bathroom and the kitchen sink was constantly blocked. Very basic place but lovely lovely staff and good location. Lockers and key was provided ;)

The vibe here is great, friendly staff with easy check-in! Cute rooftop patio area to enjoy the morning or evening sun! Kitchen facilities are available and the rooms were super clean and great bathroom space! Super convenient location with plenty of bars, restaurants and coffee shops only a few minutes walk away! Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend to anyone visiting the area!

Great location but for the price I paid it wasn’t amazing. Still a decent hostel but nothing super special

Absolutely perfecto location easy walk to beach. Property was lovely and fairly clean with remote operated a/c, making it a nice retreat from the heat. Close to lots of night life and cool places.

Had a great time staying at this hostel but most of my social interactions were at the owners other hostel down the street: The Macarena. The 17 hostel is still a great place to stay, with clean facilities including a kitchen. Although it is loud because of the bar downstairs earplugs and being tired from the day do the trick. The owner Tommy was very friendly and made it a great stay.

Amazing hostel!

Tommy the host was lovely! Amazing location right in the centre of old town. Unfortunately not very clean, only a couple of bathrooms.

we loved our stay and tommy is the best!!

This hostel is amazing. I stayed almost a week and had a great time! The rooftop view is the best place to have a slow breakfast or some drinks in the evening. The staff was very welcoming and the owner is the best host ever. The rooms and bathrooms are cleaned everyday and they make your bed too, it’s just a nice surprise to arrive from the beach and see it made. I absolutely loved it! The location is great, very close to the beach and some small markets. I wanna go back asap!

I love this hostel. The facilities and the quality is not necessarily top tier, but the staff and the atmosphere totally makes up for it. The hostel is close to most of the beaches and theres plenty of dining options right at your door. Theres a nice terrace and of course, the price is unbeatable! Its noisy at night because of bars in the area. It wasnt a huge problem for me personally - just something to keep in mind when booking.

We stayed in this hostel for 30 nights and it was fantastic. The staff members are lovely and owner Tommy was so kind. Lovely atmosphere and clean hostel.

Tommy was very kind and helpful, you can tell that it is important to him that his guests are well. The rooftop is very nice and you have a nice view. The hostel is very centrally located, which is why the streets are a little louder on some evenings, but headphones help!
