This hostel does not exist anymore. It is now a private home. I already paid the booking fee and didn’t receive my money back.
Unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing, even though the house itself and the garden are pretty. It was very difficult to find the hostel because NONE of the information online was right. The welcome felt unprofessional, and during my stay the service level was very low. I once ordered a cup of coffee and it took nearly an hour to get it. VERY uncomfortable beds, bedlinen were not changed, room never cleaned, garbage in the room not emptied. Level of customer service highly needed.
Ovviamente, a pagamento, tutti i servizi mancanti comparivano magicamente.
Unfortunately the reality of the facts is very different from what is written in the description on the site. not only is there none of the services described. the kitchen, is very dirty, there is little space in the refrigerator to store food and very few utensils to cook with. the water to wash (when there was) was very little. but the worst thing was the staff, except for the very kind cleaning lady. of course, for a fee, all the missing services magically appeared.
To spend a night is not bad, but it is more of a house than a hostel. the host lives there and the common areas like living room and terrace are occupied with people sleeping at night (maybe not always). this makes you not have much personal space in the common areas They have a nice terrace and sofas The room was clean, the kitchen a little less The house is in a private development, it is safe. the bad thing is that it is not close to almost anything walking distance, but that is common here
Tom was very nice, but the pictures did not look like reality. Damp in the bedrooms, bathroom not cleaned, no toilet paper, no soap. We stayed only one night instead of 2 but had to pay for the 2 nights. The garden is beautiful and it is in a gated community so very safe. Better hostels for the same price and do not believe the 9.7 rating than the hostel has at the moment.
I struggled with the tuktuk to find a road which leads to the place, then the doorbell was broken so we had to pound on the door. When I left again, the lady reassured me the door would be open and I can just push or she’ll hear us yelling when we came back- that wasn’t true at all, I was stuck outside for 10 minutes shouting and banging on the door when I returned. It’s a very modest home, so be prepared- you get what you pay for. No plugs, lockers, basic kitchen - wifi barely works upst...
we stayed in the akogo house for onenight. The staff there was nice to us though the place is not really like a hostel but more a private house which also rents rooms and bunk beds to foreigners. It was a bunch of guys hanging up there and it did not feel very safe at first when we arrived there.
Quite nice, safe and clean.
Nice people, everything you need:)
Very nice and quiet hostel. A little bit far away from shops etc but easy to take a 10 min ride to a shopping centre. The staff was very friendly. Overall nice stay

A very welcoming place. Nice interaction with staff and guests. A very nice place to feel at home. Also by being guests we are contributing to their worthy project, visit it or order meals to contribute more. I felt very much at home there. Thanks for everyone.
This hostel is in business, I almost didn’t book it due to previous comments, it’s just at a different location. The location is great, ambience is peaceful, they also do great charity work, highly recommend!

Tom is such a careful person! His priority is making the guests feel comfortable and at home! Also the place is really clean (Gift cleans everyday). I can recommend to everyone visiting Akogo House! :)

I had a great stay at Akogo house, Rachel and Tom were both very helpful! The only thing missing would be a locker to safety store our valuables.
Nice people, everything you need:)

Great hostel and staff:)
Very friendly and has everything you gonna need. Some of the mosquito nets at the windows are broken though.
For 5€ there is of course not much to expect but the Moskito nets have hole's. Doors don’t work…. I wouldn’t recommend to stay even though the staff is very friendly. The risk of getting malaria is just to high for foreigners
Un Hostel muy agradable, tranquilo y acogedor. Está atendido por gente que está pendiente de uno. Cerca de la playa. Lo recomiendo; ideal para relajarse.
A very nice, quiet and cozy hostel. it is attended by people who are looking out for you. close to the beach. i recommend it; ideal for relaxing.

I total I had a great time there and I really love the story behind the Hostel :) Only the mattresses could be more comfortable
