Hostel Makarska

Super unwelcoming - we booked a 7 bed mixed dorm and got put in a 10 bed room that looked nothing like the photos, Kitchen was a mess. We were accused of checking out late when we had our bags in the Storage area (in the corner of the common room) by 10, when we returned to collect our bags later that day we were told to leave immediately & one of our friends was sworn at by staff. Bit of a shame since the location is perfect but overall just find somewhere else to stay, is not worth it at all.

bonjour , Personnels hautains et pas sympa, pas de place de parking free pour voiture place de parking payant prix exorbitant 10 euros pour la nuit , chambre avec trop grand nombre de lits , salle de bain pas fonctionnel un toilette pour 12 lits et une douche sur 2 qui fonctionne , pas de café , pas de sucre ,pas de corn flakes rien pour le petit déjeuner personne ayant aucune empathie pour les voyageurs que ns sommes tous au final .

there's an angry elderly woman who berates the guests and verbally bashes any young women who are around. The young manager is pretty cool, very helpful and makes up for the angry old lady. GREAT LOCATION! the dorm pictures are of another hostel. you get what you pay for at €20 a night

L'emplacement de l'hostel est parfait mais plusieurs autres choses ne m'ont pas plus : j'avais réservé pour un dortoir de 6, finalement on est 12 par chambre, pas d'eau chaude, la WiFi ne fonctionne pas, pas de lumière dans les toilettes et la salle de bain de la chambre, pas d'amélioration malgré le fait de l'avoir signalé, un seul et unique frigo pour tout l'hostel donc difficile de trouver de la place pour mettre ses affaires, propreté moyenne. Location was very good, since it's close to the bus station and the port. The dorm was small for the number of beds, and the toilet had 2 showers which were directly connected with each other, so functionally there was only one shower for a dorm of 8 beds. Same for the regular toilet, only one. The room was never locked and was easily accessible for everyone, so not quite safe.

Was an okay stay overall.

Das Zimmer ist durchgehend geöffnet, man kann jederzeit durch die Fenstertüre reinkommen. Es gibt keinen Schlüssel oder sonstiges. Auf den Fotos sieht das Zimmer doppelt so groß aus, es ist deutlich kleiner. Für eine Nacht ist es ok, länger würde ich dort nicht mehr bleiben. Es ist auf jeden Fall kein typisches Hostel und man lebt sehr anonym. Sauberkeit war ganz ok, aber auch dort gibt es noch Verbesserungspotential. Die Bandsituation ist etwas nervig, da es nur ein Bad gibt mit einem WC

Has an amazing location and modern. The advertising is false to the 7 beds, it has 10. Has a chill outdoor common area n kitchen and so much potential to be an outstanding hostel. Staff were lovely but unfortunately the place needs staff to actually work and look after the place more and manage like a hostel/hotel. Reception opening at only 3pm is a problem with guests having to deal with new comers in the mornings. Also very untidy and not professional looking. I could deal with this though as...

Weird vibe here. There are paintings leaning on the wall and rubbish in the hallways. Feels like its half renovated. The private room had stains on the walls that couldnt be wiped off and the room didnt feel very clean, except for the bathroom. Staff were friendly but there was no social atmosphere at all, as well as screaming children staying in the top floor. Wouldnt stay again unfortunately.

Great location, 2 mins from main town and harbour area. Beds are comfy and the owner is lovely. The bathrooms need to be cleaned more, and there was a drunk menace when I was there lmao. But over all pretty good !

Enjoyed my stay in Makarska. I found the staff to be really friendly , the lady at reception provided me with a free towel, bath mat and bedding. So close to the harbour & lots of restaurants/bars. My 4 person dorm had an en suite bathroom which was great. Kitchen could be a bit cleaner. Recommend for anyone that wants to be close to the harbour.

Only one staff member was nice amd normal ,.one lady was very rude she didn't let me.sit on few couches cause they hold this for someone idk, so I arrived earlier to check in and they were very strange about it and rude saying how I came earlier and what do I want really :D I felt like they wanted to leave ? But then eventually they let me enter the facility . Beds are horrible I still have back pain and very small. Stayed with girls in the room so this was nice but nice hostel in general.. li...

Ein super klasse Hostel...fühlte mich absolut wohl. Modern, zentral, günstig...jederzeit wieder. Bei Sicherheit zog ich etwas ab, weil es hier so viele Zugangsmöglichkeiten.gibt ( die jedoch auch den Charme ausmachen)

The hostel is clean, close to the bus station and to the beach. The hosts are hospitable and funny enough, they make you feel like at home

Place was in a good location. Not much security and people could go in and out. Bit of a confusing environment as it wasn’t clear who was staff/guests or locals. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Great staff, location, well-designed rooms with a view, dog and cats. But walls are not soundproof, so if some guys enjoy drinks at 3AM, sleep is nearly impossible

Kann die negativen Bewertungen nicht verstehen. Super Preis, alles tiptop in unserem 3er Einzelzimmer. Nette Begrüssung, alles sauber. Kühlschrank könnte man mal aussortieren, Matratze/Lattenrost bisschen unbequem. Aber wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und die Lage ist unschlagbar, 4 min zum busbahnhof und 1 min ans wasser.

Close to the beach, not much of a social hostel vibe, as it’s more of a family campground place. Kitchen was well stocked, but other people left it messy

L’hostel est bien situé et est propre. Les chambres n’ont pas de serrure, mais il y a des casiers avec des cadenas. Le ville est hyper sécuritaire alors ce n’est pas si grave, mais ça peut être stressant.
