Most of the staff are lovely but the owner likes to get drunk around the hostel and share his racist views with guests in an aggressive manner. Unfortunately the staff aren’t able to say anything to him. Not sure why someone who hates Muslim has decided to open a hostel in a Muslim majority place like Lombok. Location wasn’t great either. Shame but would probably recommended staying elsewhere.
I booked a female dorm. I saw all the good reviews about Abdul, but when I met him he told me a strange story about women always want him to join there trip. When I walked in my room he asked to come in and I answered that it was a female dorm. He came in anyway.. The girls in the dorm asked him to leave too and he stated a big argument. He came in without nocking a couple of times before. He got really mad and I was scared. Then he slammed the door. We couldn’t lock the door it was scary.
Very average stay. Private rooms were basic although the shower was very weak.
Dans l’ensemble, pas génial. Les chambres sont bien mais le reste beaucoup moins. Les femmes qui travaillent là sont désagréables et pas très honnêtes et l’un des hommes est assez déplacé. Pour ce qui est du restaurant ils proposent une carte mais n’ont rien de ce qui est sur la carte. Le petit déjeuner est bon mais il n’y a que des pancakes banane, pas d’autre choix possible. Pas d’eau chaude dans les douches et une odeur nauséabonde constante… Possibilité de louer un s...
Overall, not great. The rooms are good but the rest is much less. The women who work there are unpleasant and not very honest and one of the men is quite displaced. As for the restaurant they offer a menu but nothing of what is on the menu. The breakfast is good but there are only banana pancakes, no other choice possible. No hot water in the showers and a constant smell of plentiful... Possibility to rent a scooter but no helmets.
The staff were very nice and considerate, but it’s impossible to ignore the facilities — there was no hot water at any time, and there were many insects in the room.
Wir waren in einem Privatzimmer und leider hat es im Bad unfassbar gestunken. Wir waren zum Glück nur für zwei Nächte dort und haben möglichst wenig Zeit beim duschen und co dort verbracht. Es war aber gut als Zwischenstopp bevor es auf den Rinjani ging.
We were in a private room and unfortunately the bathroom smelled unbelievably good. we were only there for two nights and had as little time as possible to shower and co there. but it was good as a stop before going to Rinjani.
The female employees were quite rude unfortunately. On arrival after a long travel day, the receptionist told us to wait until she’d had her lunch before checking us in. There was no hot water in the shower either. During happy hour, the lady working told us we couldn’t order cocktails as the barman was off that day. Can’t be that hard to make a rum and coke. Abdul was great however, great vibes and even better pancakes. Big potential here but very odd staff interactions
De hostel was ok voor 1 nacht. Lekker eten, goede locatie om Naar Gili eilanden te gaan. Slecht geslapen omwille van luide moskee vlakbij, ook de gasten waren heel luid in het midden van de nacht, geen huisregels.. Service kon beter, we werken niet welkom onthaald en ze konden weinig info geven over de ferry naar Gili T, ik had wat meer ad ies/tips verwacht. Uiteindelijk was iemand anders van de hostel wel behulpzaam. Over het algemeen veel personeel met lang gezicht..
The hostel was ok for 1 night. good food, good location to go to the Gili Islands. bad sleep because of loud mosque nearby, also the guests were very loud in the middle of the night, no house rules.. service was better, we work niet welkom onthaald and they could give little info over the ferry to Gili T, i had a bit more ad ies/tips expected. finally someone else from the hostel was helpful. generally a lot of staff with long face..
I booked this hostel for 1 night and was hoping to extend so that I could explore the area of Senggigi. It was shown on Hostelworld as being in Senggigi. This annoyed me as it was nowhere near Senggigi and as someone who wasn’t riding a scooter, come the evening I felt quite unsafe in the local area. This feeling was enhanced by the people staying at the hostel were mostly men of a certain age who wanted to get pissed (I’m sober) be loud and hit on me. I just felt unsafe here and it wasn’t...
Staff were friendly and rooms were clean, good sized pool and facilities were good. I would just avoid drinking cocktails from here. I ended up in hospital the next morning after drinking a cocktail in the evening. I was unwell the next day. Unsure if this was definitely the cause but I felt sick straight after drinking the cocktail.

The only hostel on this part of Lombok where people typically stay just a night or two before starting a Rinjani trek or Komodo boat tour. It's quiet and has a little pool. Shower with warm water. Just lacked drinking water. You can go to Pandanan or Nipah beach for best swimming and sunset dinner. Beaches closest are more for boaters

I stopped in here for a night on the way to Gili T and I’m thinking of going back!! The staff were so lovely and the breakfast was fantastic. It’s a great little hostel if you are looking for a super chill night just to have some time to yourself. There is a dinner place just up the road for Indonesian food and they really have everything you need for a short stay. My only issue was the wifi but that was due to bad weather ❤️❤️
The staff here are lovely, especially Abdul, he chats to everyone and makes sure everyone feels included, he took us up to a cool viewpoint at the top of the hill nearby and organised a bonfire on the beach as well as making yum pancakes for breakfast. The location is good if you are willing to drive yourself around on a scooter, otherwise it is quite hard to get a grab/gojek scooter around here, the volunteers are also super lovely.
Loved my stay here. It felt like a little family. Was very easy to get there from the harbour. You have to rent a scooter otherwise there is not really something to do in the area.
I LOVED my stay here - the staff are soo lovely. The hostel isn’t actually in Sengiggi but it’s in a lovely quiet town area for a proper authentic experience!

I usually never write reviews, but Lala Salama hostel was easily a top 3 hostel I have been to in Asia!! The staff is so friendly. The hostel is super clean. The owner Joe is so awesome. I stayed during slow season, but still had a great time at this hostel! I miss it already!!
A place in a calm area with very helpful staff and good Bar. Accros the road is a beach beside boats are crafted, nice to chill. I recomend to rent a scooter. The roads are good on Lombok. Discos, Clubs and Bars in Sengigi are
The best hostel ever
Good hostel, maybe wasn’t the most social because I came during the low season. Staff are very friendly and helpful, and they make great food in the restaurant, including banana pancakes for breakfast! AC in the rooms worked well, and you can rent scooters and organise transports/ tours from the hostel which which is useful.
Amazing hostel, very social. The staff go above and beyond to help with your needs. Una at reception was very helpful and allowed me to keep my bag there for 5 days whilst I did a road trip. The volunteer working there was also very nice and made an effort to ensure everyone was included! Amazing stay! Thankyou :)

Incredible staff who help to include you with the other travellers. They sometimes do bonfires on the beach and trips to Senggigi or Gili T in the evenings. There is a good selection of food in the onsite restaurant. Very happy I stayed here and met such lovely people. Breakfast banana pancakes were fab. The only thing is that the hostel is not near Senggigi beach - but you can hire scooters at the hostel for the day, or get a grab/taxi into Senggigi. Overall a great experience here :)
Amazing hostel. The staff are super nice. They even took us surfing and were really helpful and fun. Highly recommend!
Pros: The best social hostel I've stayed at my whole trip. We spent every evening chatting and playing cards, and I met up with a few travellers I met there later in my trip. The staff are also amazing, and the restaurant food is delicious. You can rent scooters and go explore nearby waterfalls. Cons: I stayed in the 12 person dorm and it was quite cramped and the wifi was very slow in the dorm room. The showers didn't have hot water. Overall still one of my favourite places I stayed.
Die Lage der Unterkunft ist nicht ideal, man braucht einen Roller um zu Restaurants zu gelangen. Das Frühstück ist sehr lecker und die Mitarbeiter sorgen für eine gute Stimmung. Obwohl es insgesamt nur 2 Duschen und 3 Toiletten für das gesamte Hostel gibt, ist es einigermaßen sauber.
The location of the accommodation is not ideal, you need a roller to get to the restaurants.The breakfast is very delicious and the staff ensure a good mood.Although there are only 2 showers and 3 toilets in total for the entire hostel, it is quite clean.

Recommend staying here, clean hostel. Staff were all so lovely. Shout out to Abdul for showing us a beautiful sunset spot and being a please to be around.
