Porto Wine Hostel

The main issue with this hostel is the extremely noisy night life right outside the hostel, playing loud music until 5am. No one in our dorm got any sleep until morning. This basically ruined any possibility of waking up refreshed at a reasonable time. (We shouldn’t need to sleep in until 11 am just to get some rest. Should’ve stayed in Gaia.) O acesso ao hostel é por meio de escada, não gostei por isso, ele fica na parte superior do prédio, a equipe é maravilhosa “, principalmente a menina da recepção Janaína.

I booked this hostel only because it was close to the city center, but the stay was disappointing, as the beds are completely open with no curtains or privacy and everyone can clearly see each other, the rented towel was brown instead of white so I had no way to know if it was clean, and even deluxe rooms were extremely basic and dull, making the overall experience far below expectations.

Asked for invoice a few days ago with no response. very quiet hostel. I saw a few cockroaches in my room and in the passages.

For the rating this hostal has I expected way more. The bar and welcome wine is nice, but I definitely got bed bug bites here. Wouldn’t come back

Auberge bien située pour visiter Porto à pied ou en transports en commun, très propre mais chambres privées petites et chères. Celles coté rue sont très bruyantes car situées au dessus de bars fréquentés tard la nuit, nickel pour les fêtards. Personnel très accueillant qui nous a changé de chambre au bout de 2 nuits car à coté de 5 anglais venus pour faire la fête jusqu'au matin ! I loved every person who worked here, they are truly amazing but if i had do choose again i would’ve chosen another hostel. There’s no place to hide yourself for a little bit. There’s really no privacy anywhere. I’d rather choose a hostel with at least curtains

L'auberge est particulièrement bien située, mais une partie du staff n'était pas forcément très aimable, et nous étions seules dans l'auberge, donc ambiance pas géniale. Mais surtout, la chambre individuelle ne correspondait pas bien aux photos (filtres) et la SDB (qui n'avait pas de photos sur l'annonce) était minuscule et assez sale. De plus la chambre était très humide, au point que les vêtements qui étaient posés contre le mur étaient mouillés.

Wonderful place, extremely clean, always felt safe. Our room was at the front of the building, the noise from the square made it a bit loud in the evening/night

Great location, great staff. Rooms at the front are noisy at night from the outside bars on both sides so request a rear room if its a problem for you.

Very kind and helpful staff, fun environment and atmosphere, and perfect location. Be aware that you have to go up at least 3 flights of stairs for your dorm and there is no elevator, so do not book this hostel if you have mobility constraints or very heavy luggage (though the staff is very strong and will help you). It could use some upgrades and curtains for each individual bed, but it's not terrible. Location is awesome, right near all the university with active nightlife.

I loved my stay at the Wine Hostel. The location is AMAZING. Very central and right across from a small park. The kitchen is well-equipped with everything you might need. The atmosphere is definitely more chill. For me this is a bonus, I prefer calm, quiet stays, but if you’re looking for a super social hostel with organized events, this may not be your vibe. The only odd thing was that the bathroom was connected to the mixed-gender room, which may make some people uncomfortable.

Such a lovely hostel. The staff are amazing and so attentive. It had everything you need and is a really cool spot in the city. Not to far from everything. There a few cool bars just outside that do get a little noisy in the evening but nothing some earplugs can’t sort!

Das Hotel befindet sich zwischen mehreren Bars, somit war es abends immer zeimlich Laut. Mit Ohropacks ging es aber :)

A fantastic and warm introduction to Porto and Portugal. The staff were genuinely friendly and welcomed us with smiles. And they didn’t even laugh at me when I tried to speak Portuguese:)

The location, the staff, the activities - everything was amazing. I am definitely coming back to this exact hostel

This is one of the cleanest hostels I've stayed in! The staff was really welcoming and nice too. The hostel is also right next to a park which was a big plus:)

El mejor hostal en donde me he hospedado hasta ahora. Sumamente limpio y muy bien ubicado. El staff super amable, en especial Clarissa, siempre dispuesta a ayudar en todo lo que se necesitara. Definitivamente volvería a quedarme.

Super schönes Hostel, sauber und sehr nette und zuvorkommende Mitarbeiterinnen. Das Bad war etwas klein, aber insgesamt in Ordnung. Ich würde auf jeden Fall wieder kommen!

We had an amazing stay in Porto Wine Hostel :) After a warm welcome followed by a glass of port wine, we checked into a really clean room with comfortable beds and a private bathroom for the dorm. The kitchen was just as clean and we loved eating and hanging out in the reception area. As the hostel is located in the city centre, most of the places that we visited were in a walking distance. The staff was super friendly and helpful, especially Mathilda who always had an open ear for every one :) ...

Amazing hostel with a great selection of wines and easy access to everything worth seeing in Porto!

For my first hostel experience, this was out of this world! Not only was the location great & the people kind, but Porto as a whole is lovely. Would definitely recommend the Wine Hostel, especially if you enjoy meeting new people & having some fun drinks. Would most definitely stay again!
