Stayokay Utrecht Centrum

Avoid. The room had one window which was into the hallway where school kids would look in and be running around screaming. Construction going on even at night. No hand soap or way to dry hands. Worst of all they placed a 60+ yo man in the room who was beyond creepy and told us about his job managing girls in Amsterdam red light. We were so uncomfortable and scared we left the room until very late to avoid him.

Pros: great location, lovely staff, clean rooms. Cons: no kitchen or even kitchen supplies (no kettle, cups, toaster, nothing). No communal space. Poor laundry facilities– only one washer and dryer in the whole building and each cycle takes about an hour so if someone is already using it you have to wait. The laundry facilities are also super expensive (€9 to wash and dry) but my clothes didn't come out particularly clean and were still damp after the dryer. The wifi was basically non ex...

Terrible place, I didn’t turn up and they still charged me, luckily my card blocked them.

Bon pour un court séjour : Pas de place pour les valises. Un casier et 2 cintres pour les vêtements ! Des fenêtres pas isolées : le froid pénètre dans la pièce. Peu ou pas de réponses aux mails.

The bathroom looked nice, but otherwise the room was not clean and my only blancket (they gave me no drapes) was yellow and they would not change it.

Great location, terrible atmosphere

L’unica nota positiva è stato il personale, che era gentile ed attento, mentre la struttura è una un prigione. La nostra stanza era priva di finestra, non c’erano ventole e la temperatura non poteva essere regolata. Abbiamo passato notti insonni perché l’aria diventava irrespirabile dopo 10 minuti. Sconsiglio vivamente a tutti, non capisco come una sistemazione simile possa essere a norma.

Absolutely no atmosphere and expensive

Awful do not stay here. There are “recoding studio” rooms where you’re only window/ source of light is into the hallway. Which is also kinda scary experience for 4 girls travelling alone. We were never warned about construction and all facilities were closed. The staff hospitality was awful. We were so disappointed in this hostel since Utrecht is a beautiful city

Overall a good place to stay! Really clean and the beds were comfortable and private. Although I would say if you’re solo travelling it isn’t the most social place to stay compared to other hostels. I think the lack of kitchen adds to that. But I would still recommend staying here as did enjoy it

Nice,centrum :)

Very nice hostel, close to center. The only downside was that they don’t have air dryers in the room, you have to ask at the reception, orherwise it was all good.

The location and amenities of Stayokay are perfect! Comfortable beds, clean bathrooms and an accessible luggage storage. What was missing was a shared space like a lounge or kitchen which may encourage more opportunities to meet others and connect. I would recommend this hostel!

Good central location in Utrecht, as far as i could tell there was no common room etc, but overall still a good experience and had plenty of room in the dorm

Que no se os olvide traerse vuestro candado y toallas! Todo correcto, excelente ubicación y muy limpio, se ha sentido muy seguro, tranquilo y de lo más barato que se puede encontrar en Utrecht, aunque sigue siendo bastante caro. Guay para venir en pareja para una noche/un par de noches, si es verdad para solo travelers quizás no tiene tanto ambiente.

I stayed in the Stayokay in Utrecht for 2 nights. The establishment is quite clean and the staff friendly. The big advantage is the location. Very central and close to the central station. I would stay there again.

Er is geen gemeenschappelijke ruimte waar je kunt rusten, andere reizigers kunt ontmoeten of anderszins contact kunt maken. Ook ontbreekt een keuken. Ontbijt afnemen kost 10 euro en hoewel een zeer goed ontbijt wordt geserveerd, is dat bedrag dat best veel als je ervoor kiest om in een hostel te verblijven en er ook geen keuken of een simpel aanrecht met koelkast beschikbaar is. Verder zit het hostel gekoppeld aan een restaurant, en de verhouding tussen beiden is wat lastig te snappen.

Had a lovely stay here, it's in such a good location right in the centre of the city. Great for limited mobility and hostel is wheelchair accessible (cobbles in the streets can be quite bumpy though!).

Booked last minute and was not worth paying 40 euro a night but it was okay to stay there.

My hotel was fully refundable and I paid for 6 nights but I stay only 2 nights but they not return my rest amount and that was really strange so they are not cooperative.

Posizione comodissima, posto molto pulito e moderno.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hostel. It’s very clean, and the location is perfect—right in the center. The staff are very friendly, and there’s also a restaurant in the building, which is very convenient. It’s also very close to TivoliVredenburg, which is great if you’re going to a concert.
