The worst place I ever stayed

Florian m'a demandé de lui ramener du vin de France, en me proposant d'échanger avec son vin qu'il vend 10 euros la bouteille. Je lui ai donc ramené 4 bouteilles de 75cl à 10 euros. Au moment de repartir en France je passe chercher son vin. Il me tend une bouteille en plastique d'1.5L. Je ris et lui dis que je lui en ai donné 4. Alors il m'en donne une 2ème en me disant que ça fait la même quantité de liquide. Mais ça ne fait pas du tout la même valeur !!! Et en rentrant, je goûte so...

Really could not be worse. We're totally down with simple, family accommodations. But this place has almost nothing going for it and a lot of negatives. The worst is that it was not clean. Not being picky, just not clean. Florian took us on his standard tour but more or less abandoned us at a site that was closing as it was getting dark. He ran errands and later came and got us. Pas d'eau chaude, locaux pas très propre, accueil mitigé, prix excessif par rapport à la qualité, peu confortable par contre dîner correct nous sommes partis au bout d'une nuit

Pros: Fresh milk, well secure to park your vehicle Cons: Dinner cost 10 Euros per head, it was very oily which resulted in diarrhoea in the morning. The bathroom requires a good clean as there is mould everywhere. The room is cramped with very little air conditioning so I can’t imagine what it would be like during the height of summer. I did not appreciate the owner getting irritated for us organising our own transport as it is not difficult for one to organise transport from Shkoder to Teth.

This is an authentic Albanian experience staying in a family home. The family are kind and generous. Florian organised everything for us making it easy to get to Theth and the Komani lake. The guide and drivers were all professional and drove safely. Our guide to Theth was exceptionally good. If you like rustic and like being in the country this place is ideal.

Great opportunity for family of 5 to experience beautiful courtyard with 3 generation Albanian family and meet fellow travellers. safe for kids. Florian’s English is excellent and he gave great insight into Albanian history and culture. We left our car keys with him for 2 nights. 3 bunk beds in 1 room was a little tight - 1 bathroom shared - very basic accommodation and most expensive place we stayed (especially cooking course) but great memories, especially homemade birthday cake for my so...

Florian was helpful in arranging travel to Teth and full of info on Shkoder. But, I was surprised by the state of the hostel based on the ratings and reviews. The bathroom and especially the kitchen, both indoor and outdoor need a really deep clean. The dorm room is cramped with poor ventilation and one wobbling fan propped up on the couch, particularly an issue during the current heat. The bike I was provided to get to town had no working brakes. Florian complained about previous guests to us.

Die Unterkunft an sich ist schön grün. Allerdings war die einzige Dusche/ Klo, sowie die Küche nicht sehr sauber. Desweiteren hat sich Florian über andere Gäste beschwert, was ein unangenehmes Gefühl hinterlassen hat. In der Nacht war es sehr heiß. Der Transport nach Theth lief einwandfrei. Abholung direkt am Guesthouse. Das Gepäck könnte ebenfalls vor Ort gelassen werden.

Florian is graag in contact met zijn internationale gasten, laat veel zien (ottomaanse brug, wandeling langs het meer, de wijngaard). Groente wordt zelf verbouwd, pa maakt lekkere wijn, ma maakt een eerlijke maaltijd. We hadden het super fijn hier, een heel persoonlijke ervaring.

Very authentic and warm homestay experience. All the food is home grown and organic from their garden, including olives, jams, eggs, meat and of course wine! You can also use their bikes to go to the bridge and explore the countryside. Florian and his family are very kind and caring. He can also help with activities, tours and transportation. Awesome true Albanian cultural experience ❤️

This place is a perfect little introduction to authentic Albanian living. Simple living with fresh home-grown food and a cozy atmosphere. I've volunteered at farmstays, and this reminds me a lot of those experiences. Highly recommend!☺️

We stayed one night here in Shkoder and had an amazing time. The host showed us around the city and taught us all about Albanian culture that we would other wise not have gotten the opportunity to learn! He was very welcoming and even gave us some fruit from their garden. It was a lovely house and we would highly recommend for an authentic experience and relaxing stay! And you have to try their homemade wine :)

Florian and his parents were so hospitable. The meals they provided were so delicious & made from produce from their garden. I've never had tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplant, etc that were so flavorful on their own. Florian went above and beyond to help me find local resources. This hostel may be a 10-15 min bike ride from downtown, but the atmosphere and connections are absolutely worth it. Do bring bug spray though.

I loved staying here, I could not recommend it more! Florian and his family are wonderful hosts, super accomodating and amazing food. The city is only 15 min away by bike, brilliant 2nd hand shops, and heaps of outdoor activities to get involved with. Super excited to stay again in future, thank you Florian!

Great guesthouse. Really cozy garden, fresh and delicious food, relaxed atmosphere and the owner was willing to help us out with our trip even after staying at the guesthouse.

Florian is a very sweet host taking time to chat with his guests. His home is peaceful and quiet perfect to take a break and he was wonderful helping us organizing our trip to Valbona and Teth. I highly recommend his services.

Florian’s guesthouse felt like a very authentic Albanian experience, which is exactly what I was after. The house and its surroundings are beautiful, and it was nice to be out of the centre (which is only a 10-15 minute bike ride away). Florian and his mother were also very helpful when I fell ill with a stomach bug, and made sure I was ok. Very hospitable hosts and a lovely house :-)

Florian and his family will give you the best of Balkan hospitality. The delicious home-cooked food comes straight from their gorgeous organic garden or surrounding farms. The soup in particular is always excellent, and their authentic homemade wine keeps you merry and hangover-free.. If you are looking for something new and flashy, this is not the place for you. Florian's guest house is a traditional, quiet, down-to-earth family-style guest house, best suited for families, groups and adults.

Florian really goes above and beyond to make sure you have what you need during your stay! The supper was amazing and they have bikes you can borrow to get into town :)

If you want an authentic place with soul, tradition, great vibe, warmth, good food and with great people to stay at, I would definitely choose Florian’s Guest House again. ( It felt like I was staying at my grandmas place.) Home-cooked meal for breakfast and homemade wine for dinner was the best for me. ❤️

Florian and his house offer an authentic rural atmosphere of northern Albania. He is a great host and an excellent companion. I will never forget the days I spent with him. Anyone who wants to see how life works in the Albanian countryside should visit this place and of course taste the homemade wine that Florian produces.

Florian was very kind and great in helping me get into contact with others to organise my hiking trip. We shared a room with other guests, the room was fine. The shared bathroom was okay, but it was small and not very clean. The ambiance with Florian and the others guests was great, he offered us homemade wine and treats. Good breakfast. Overall nice stay.

Das Hostel ist Top, alles war wie es beschrieben war nur man bekam viel mehr Essen und viel mehr Wein für 10€ Der Gastgeber ist super nett. Das Hostel liegt etwas abseits, aber wer echte Albanische Herzlichkeit erleben möchte ist hier genau richtig. Es sind höchstens 10 Gäste gleichzeitig da. 99% des Essens und der Wein wird im eigenen Garten produziert. Ich gehe gerne wieder dorthin zurück

Our stay at Florian's Guesthouse felt like being welcomed by a friend. Rooms were cozy, breakfast fresh from the garden, and Florian’s care shone in the two excursions he arranged: Theth Blue Eyes and Koman Lake River. Every transfer, ticket, food, and timing was handled flawlessly, so we could simply breathe in the mountains and water. Honest hospitality, seamless planning, unforgettable days, I'd return in a heartbeat. Bonus: bikes to borrow, grapevines for shade, and a homely garden vibe.
