Flying Pig Uptown

I do not recommend booking here. It’s extremely loud up until 2am with the lobby blasting techno music that you can hear all the way into the room. Also I wouldn’t bet on getting any naps during the day because they send 6 different people to complete one task of cleaning; one to pick up trash, one to vacuum, etc all from the hours of 10-4. The bathrooms also never seem to be clean at the end of it all. They are moldy and disgustingly tiny.

I booked the Flying Pigs after reading numerous reviews but it turned out to be a terrible choice. The premium price of around 240 euros for two nights was a bit steep, especially considering the lack of a functional toilet on the same floor. Even the floors above and below only had one working toilet which was incredibly frustrating. The staff in the restaurant seemed preoccupied with their own tasks rather than attending to guests. I had high hopes but they were all dashed.

Honestly I don’t know how this hostel have such a good review!!! It’s absolutely TERRIBLE, there’s a bad smell in everywhere, the bed it’s uncomfortable and the shower IT’S ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE with zero conditions for the travellers.

Worst hostel I’ve ever stayed at. Everything was discussing and the staff was very drunk the night I arrived.

Bathrooms were filthy—no hand soap, toilets out of order, showers never cleaned, floors wet, and trash overflowing. Staff shrugged when I complained, though they let me cancel early and refunded my money. Rooms were hot with no AC, the fan was caked in dust triggering allergies, and doors slammed loudly. No bed curtains and staff weren’t engaged. Social vibe, but overall not worth it.

Honestly the bedrooms and bathrooms were disgusting. I paid an absolute fortune for the bathrooms to never be cleaned and for there to be chewing gum stuck to the bed above my face on arrival. The beds and rooms are tiny, so good luck trying to get your stuff out from under the bed if even one other person is also trying to at the same time. There’s also nowhere to get changed because there’s nowhere to hang your stuff in the shower and your knees touch the door in the toilet. Horrible valu...

They charge you to leave bags before and after check out, even for a few hours. I think it was 7€ for the breakfast of cheese, ham, boiled eggs, yogurt, coffee, and cereal. The facilities were nothing special. They won't let you bring in alcohol from the outside and it's illegal to drink on the street. They don't have any organized activities aside from the occasional karaoke so meeting people is next to impossible. Staff was very nice for the most part. Would not recommend.

People were screaming about their d**** being stolen. Room was beyond gross. Was a bad experience.

Amazing location and amazing people. Facilities/bathrooms could feel a little dirty but overall it was an amazing experience

Would go back for sure, loved being near vondelpark! Great amenities like kitchen, bar and outback smoking area.

Overall nice hostel. Had everything everything we needed. Definitely not a boring stay!

Les chambres sont chères pour ce qui est proposé. Les chambres sont sombres ont dirait des chambres ds prisons, de plus c’était sale. Le seul point positif c’est que l’établissement est dans quartier calme et agréable, le centre est facilement accessible à pied

Awesome hostel on thing is steep stairs but other than that perfect

No me gustó la ubicación, solo cerca de la plaza de los museos. El resto de lo principal está al menos a media hora caminando. No cuenta con laundry room. Camas cómodas e ingreso con tarjeta lo que lo hace seguro

nice price for the location, but there are no washing rooms, the toilets are so tiny and dirty, the sinks are right next to the toilet and are soo tiny, it's almost impossible to wash your face properly. rooms were okay, some 6 bed rooms don’t have a park view, luggage storage is like 4 euros per day i think

O banheiro apesar de ser limpo todos os dias tem um cheiro muito desagradável. Guardei uma sobremesa numa bolsa que foi corroída por um rato a noite!

Auberge de jeunesse bien placée et propre avec une bonne ambiance. Cependant, ayant eu la chambre au premier étage au dessus du bar, nous entendions toutes les vibrations et les musiques de celui ci jusqu'à sa fermeture, à 2 heure du matin tous les jours de la semaine. Je n'avais pas trouvé l'information concernant l'horaire du bar dans la description de l'auberge. A l'avenir, ce serait bien de le mettre en avant ou de le préciser surtout pour les chambres au premier étage.

The people working there are really nice and friendly but two of the men in our room were extremely rude and disrespectful. They would come inside the room at 4 am completely intoxicated and create a ruckus in the room, make a lot of noise, and disturb everyone. The beds in the hostel do not have curtains so you have no privacy at all.

Dorms were fine. Smoking room and bar was lovely. Bathrooms could have been a bit cleaner but I understand things can get gross quick when you’ve got a lot of people filtering in and out. The location is a bit of a walk from city center and is expensive for being at such a distance, but not too ridiculous. Would stay here again.

Sehr nette Mitarbeiter und sehr saubere duschen, jedoch sind die Toiletten ganz schlimm! War ein witziges Wochenende aber ich hoffe wir haben uns nichts eingefangen in den Toiletten
