Reina Madre Hostel

+ Die Lage war Top. Aber das war leider schon alles.

- Erstens: der Chef, Sr Alberto, hat sich geweigert, mir eine Rechnung oder Beweiss zu geben, dass ich bereits den gesamten betrag bezahlt hatte. Er war anfangs freundlich, aber später wurde er sehr unfreundlich und beleidigend, als ich auf mein Recht auf eine Rechnung hingewiesen musste (nach einer Woche bitten , und bitten meinerseits). Herr Alberto machte somit einen unseriösen EINDRUCK und wurde mit den Tagen respektlos gegenüber den Touristen. Außerdem, würden meine Sachen täglich durch die Reinigungskraft abgefasst (??!!) und meine Lebensmittel durch die Reinigungskrafz gestohlen. Unfassbar. Noch nie erlebt. Der hostel fühlte sich wie " un nido de ratas" also nicht zu empfehlen. Lieber ein paar Euro mehr zahlen und sich wohl in freundlicher Atmosphäre entspannen : )

- When checking in they told me that it’s only possible to pay in cash and I would need to go to Western Union to pick up 980 USD worth of Argentinian pesos in cash so that I could pay them in cash. Nowhere in the booking did it say that you can only pay in cash. Ironically they have stickers of Visa in their premises to show that you should be able to pay via card. The day after I went to tell them, that I want to cancel my booking as I was not happy with the Hostel or the payment options, to which they rudely responded that cash only was written in the booking (I checked, and it was not) that it was cash only and that why did I even stay here in the Hostel for such a long time if payment in cash is a problem. While they apologized later, it already ruined the vibe. Overall the Hostel is not great. Some other complaints: - The rooms look outdated - The aircon can only be controlled by the owner, who has the remote in the reception. The room gets really hot and there is no ventilation - When you leave the room - you have to always give and ask for the key at the reception. If you come from the street, you need to be buzzed in by the reception, which is really annoying - The beds are not comfortable - They don’t bother to add toilet paper or soap in some of the bathrooms - The Wifi sometimes does not seem to work - The rooms are super noisy. You can hear pretty much everything that is happening in the hostel or on the streets - Even the lock for the room did not work properly, you had to play around with the lock to open the door Overall, I’m baffled how this hostel can have such a high rating. It’s expensive and outdated. Plus, you are treated like a kid with the whole aircon and key situation and customer service is terrible.

+ nice neighborhood, lots of places to eat nearby, restaurants, markets etc

- property was not happy to accept card, lots of confusion about payment. Dishonesty from comments by owner *We ended up staying a few months in Argentina, multiple cities. Looking back we now realize this hostel is not safe to stay. We were lucky not to leave things in the room while we went exploring outside. The hostel usually asks for the key to stay at front desk, we questioned this a bit. Also in our stay here I did get some suspicious notices in my bank, card transactions that I had to deny. I could just be paranoid, but after reading reviews as well as the owners comments on our messages, I feel this message is necessary for me to leave. There is a lot of dishonesty. Be careful

+ Warnings if you decide to stay here/stayed here in the past: 1. Check your bank accounts and lock your credit/debit cards. If you have experienced any fraud and stayed at this hostel, people associated with the hostel are very likely responsible. I recommend not letting your phone, cash, credit, or debit cards out of your sight ever, even when showering. Sleep with these things attached to your body. 2. Contact the tourist police regarding anything at all that occurs here that is strange or not quite right. Once multiple reports come in, they will have a stronger case to determine whether the hostel should be more fully investigated. 3. Interact with staff, volunteers, and long-term guests at the hostel as little as possible. Some are committing credit card fraud or stealing from travelers for a living. 4. Do not leave any valuables in your room whatsoever. They are not secure. Even your clothes will be stolen. Use multiple locks and antitheft devices if you decide to leave valuables here. 5. Do not rely on the hostel wifi. The long-term guests are manipulating the network to commit fraud and do other illegal online activities. The wifi here does not work and is not secure. 6. Inspect the locker in your room before using it. Do not use a locker that a staff member or volunteer tells you to use. 7. Turn on all overhead lights in your room always. 8. Do not speak to the other people in your room. 9. Do not come here if allergic to smoke or cats. People smoke inside, and the cats sleep in your bed. 10. Please -- contact the police for anything out of the ordinary that occurs during your stay. Do not try to discuss issues with the management, guests, or staff. Good luck!

- Lack of security. Mean-spirited and bitter, unhelpful staff and volunteers. Too many long-term/homeless guests that don't have jobs. + BE CAREFUL HERE -- THERE ARE SCAMMERS LIVING AND VOLUNTEERING AT THIS HOSTEL. The hostel workers/long-term guests pretend to be very helpful, giving you a map and telling you all about the city. They try to help you and then they steal your money/valuables (in my case from my locked locker...the very one the hostel volunteer recommended I use). I'm absolutely sure I was robbed by people who work/live here. It's such a shame because prior to being robbed I loved the hostel and thought everyone was so nice...

+ The staff were wonderful and the location great. The bathrooms were cleaned regularly and had hand soap, but they are a bit old. We loved the cats.

- We enjoyed the stay, but if we're being nit-picky, we would have appreciated the washing up sponge being replaced as it was quite old. And maybe also the shower curtains.

+ 施設が広くて開放感があるHostalでベッドにカーテンこそありませんが快適に過ごせました。 スタッフのペルー出身の方はとても接客が素晴らしかったです。 また猫がとても人懐っこくて可愛かったです。 キッチンが使えたら連泊しようと思いました。

- キッチンの火のつけ方がマッチで難しかった。 同部屋の上のベッドのゲストが深夜1時すぎに携帯のライトをつけてロッカーから物を出し入れしたりしてかなり迷惑だった。 安い価格なので仕方ありませんが客質は平均よりすこしだけ悪かったです。

+ La amabilidad en recepción. En la noche es silencioso para el descanso. Contemplativos con el horario de check in.

+ Great location, lovely friendly staff, very reasonably priced, great chill out areas and most importantly two very friendly cats

- Se escuchó cada ruido en el cuarto privado, queda al lado de la entrada y tiene paredes y puerta muy finas.

+ Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Lage ist toll und das Haus ist besonders und eigentlich sehr schön.

- Einige Räume und die Bäder könnten einige Renovierungen gebrauchen.
