The place was plagued by power cuts which made it unliveable & then the water stopped working meaning I had no option to leave 2 days early and go to another hostel. also no bar or social aspect at this hostel - go to the other milhouse
*Not a backpackers friendly *Staff are not so friendly they seem to be stressed all the time. you must catch them on a good day to ask them a questions or ask for recommendations. *they reserve the place for groups of college students and organizations, which means travelers are no longer priority, because the co-working space turns to a hangout place and the hangout place gets taken by the groups which leaves travelers sitting aside. *needless to say they keep doubling their prices
The worst hostel Ive ever been to. Ive traveled many places in the world, and I’ve NEVER been yelled to in a hostel or hotel. In this hostel they dont tell their workers we are GUESTS, we are paying for the service and that we should be treated with kindness and always listen. The person that stays at night is an ‘old’ man super rude, who has an angry look in his face and doesnt make you feel welcome. on whatsapp? When i made the complaint ofc they said ‘sorry’ but then what? Nothing. ...
Got bedbugs :/ Had to lave early. Probably the most disgusting mattress I’ve ever seen.
Be careful, they are con artists that try to rip you off
I’ve never been treated so poorly in my years of traveling. Super rude staff! Be ware of their charging system, they tried to overcharge with out providing detailed information. Room was super hoy, no AC, I can honestly say worst hostel I’ve ever stayed in. Stay away.
To escape if you are looking for peace and quiet, just a little moment of quiet, or a free table to eat... shower not functional so 2 floors to climb to take a shower, no outside light so a bit gloque... the hostel infrastructure is good and the housekeeping serious but it is more a place for student parties than a hostel for travelers...
The build is nice and really well located, near subways markets and all that. The cleaning staff is super nice although the place is not super clean. The hostel staff on the other hand is kinda rude and not very welcoming. Their arrive politics is just insane, they send you an email saying the check in is at 13:00 but is actually 14:00. I landed in buenos aires at 5 am and had to wait until 14:00 so i can sleep even though there was A LOT of beds totally empty in my room. Plus all is charged
It was not really for travel but more for long stay, definitely not the vibe of a hostel, go to avenue instead
An alright place, not much of an ambiance, you could find better for what you pay here

Mega entspanntes Hostel. Kann ich nur weiterempfehlen.
Mega relaxtes Hostel, which I can only recommend.
Juan and Allen were super nice and helped me whenever I needed it! Also, hats off to all the cleaners. They were super friendly and always made the bed freshly. They have drinking water and a great location. It was a good place to study with quiet zones and speedy internet.
Recomendable 100%
Very good experience, comfortable rooms with privacy in every bed, common areas and plenty of activities to offer.
Milhouse is an excellent choice. it's nice, it's easy, it's clean, it works, nothing bad to say. but i wanted to warn, if someone has trouble sleeping with noise, that on friday and saturday there is a disco next door and the music doesn't stop until 6am. the bass of the music is crawling up to the bedrooms. depending on the sensitivity each one has, it can be uncomfortable. equally, the place is worth it!
Recomiendo
I would recommend it.
Great staff and location.

Great Hostel, Social, cold rooms, great location and open minded people!!

Great atmosphere with many activities that are combined with Milhouse Avenue! Amazing facilities with two large commercial kitchens for guests to use and lots of social area including the rooftop! Bedrooms were secure with key card access and cleaners made your beds most days.. added a lovely touch! There are five bathrooms for all guests to use with showers which were great however, got dirty very easily.. Overall, would recommend! :)

Excellent hostel, helpful staff and area for remote work, but the upper beds make quite a bit of noise even with few movements.
Positive: great location, good split of roles between the two hostels (partys and socialising at Avenue, sleeping at Hipo), good wifi Negative: Room (private double-bed with private bathroom) differed a lot from internet picture in reality ( small roof, tiny bathroom, tiny room itself (there wasn't even space for a chair left), blanket was disgusting but they changed it and then it was okay. Kitchen equipment is basic. Overall: Be aware that most guests are in their 20s and party seeking.
Excellent service and location, when I arrived it was full of a group of students so I didn't meet many other travelers, they were all Norwegian students.
Milhouse Hipo is a great choice if you’re staying in Buenos Aires for a longer period or working remotely. The hostel is beautiful, spacious, and super well maintained. The facilities are top-notch: fast WiFi, plenty of common areas to work or relax, and a really well-equipped kitchen. The location is perfect for exploring the city, with everything close by.
Gorgeous building and rooms are super spacious and clean. WiFi works great for remote work, even at the rootop (which is cool too). No crazy party vibe here – it’s more about comfort and a good night’s sleep. Just what I wanted!

The Hostel is very well located, in the heart of Buenos Aires, has a careful setting and style and in combination with the more lively Milhouse Hostel on May Avenue offers all the possibilities for tranquility and fun super recommended

I had stayed at Milhouse Avenue previously and this time I wanted to try the sister hostel Milhouse Hipo. The atmosphere is more relaxed and chilled, so great when you want a more quiet stay after so much party ;) The building is gorgeous, with a charming central courtyard and high celing rooms. I loved it.
