Sunset House Hostel

This accommodation is far from finished, so there's noisy construction work every day. The dorm is noisily cleaned every morning at 7:30 am, and if you complain, they told you: "If you want privacy, then you have to book a private dorm." The volunteer Catalina is not helping you with anything! There's no mirror anywhere! The pool is full of sand and leaves, and nobody in 5 days cleans it. No lockers and the working crew is using the toilet inside the dorms...

super endroit. Notre dortoir était complet, le propriétaire nous a upgrader à une chambre privé. besucoup de jeu. très aimable et serviable

They were super accommodating for us as our flight arrived in Liberia long before our check in time. It was no problem they let us store our luggage, let us use the lounging/ pool areas and even offered us use of a shower. They worked quickly to get us an early check in also!! It was a great and easy start to our vacation in Costa Rica. It was a bit of a journey from the airport, we ended up taking the public transit to Liberia centre and a taxi (about 7 mins) 2000 CR to the hostel.

+: comfy bed, pool, kitchen with utensils/seasonings, ac in room, rustic decor, lockers, wonderful hosts, 15-20 min uber ride to/from airport -: hot shower didn’t work for me Nonetheless, an excellent stay. I hope to visit again :)

This hostel is amazing! Very clean, safe, lots to do. Near the city so a quick & cheap uber. The host Heracio is so nice and helpful. 10/10

Best hostel I’ve stayed in Liberia. Clean, well equiped, felt at home the minute I got there, very nice owner and the swimming pool is a nice bonus. Corner store less then a minute from the hostel. Would 100% come back!

Awesome stay! Facilities are clean and equipped bwith everything you need in the kitchen. The pool is the best part for me . The owners are very nice and accommodating. I will definitely stay again.

They don’t make hostels like this anymore- best one I’ve stayed at in a long time. Owners are kind, rooms are clean, great swimming pool, and relaxed vibe. Precious! 10/10.

Sunset Hostel is an absolute amazing place! I stayed there once and came back again to stay as it was so incredible. The owners are a really sweet mom and dad who are so caring. They put so much love into this hostel. There is so much space here. It so nice to have a place to relax downstairs and by the pool. The pool is so lovely on hot days. One of the owners helped me set up a plan to visit the hot springs and volcano nearby. Highly recommend!!

The best hostel in Costa Rica. It's a bit out of town but it's worth it for the quiet. The owner is an incredibly nice guy. The hostel was very cozy, I felt right at home. Super duper clean. The pool area was incredible. Cozy bed. Quality tp. Kitchen had everything I needed. I'd give it a 7/5 if I could!!!!

Super nice hosts. I was really ill and they were really kind to me. Got a huge climbing warehouse next to them if you love climbing check it out.
