Miami Cairo Hostel

The owner Abdullah Khaled sent to me Maramees Hostel to live where I asked a Receptionist to give me an iron to press my new pants that I had worn only ones. He gave an iron but on the heat setting nob all the information were erased plus the bottom part of the iron was burned. So, as soon as I placed the iron on my pants the hot iron got stuck on my pants and left a big white round stain on my pants. Next day I asked the owner Abdullah Khaled for $20 as a compensation but he refused to do so.

not even a hostel

A hostel with very friendly staff, good communication and good location in Downtown Cairo. Negative for us was the position of the room directly next to the lobby, which comes with noise etc. The bathroom was not in good shape, water dripping constantly and the shower inundating the bathroom floor. There’s a lot of garbage in the little court outside the window. The breakfast was basic. Might be a good choice for 1 night, we wouldn’t recommend it for a longer stay.

A really disappointing experience. First, we arrived at the hostel, but their was no place for us anymore, despite our reservation. They thus transfered us to an other hostel, Merameeres, not far away, where we got a room one double bed instead of the two singles we reserved. Advertisement said we had free airport shuttle, which they didn't want to give us. An in all, they do business like pirates.

The hostel has no atmosphere. There is just a windowless living room. The window in the room faces a tiny, dark area filled with trash. While the room is fine, the hostel is very sad. As with almost everywhere in Cairo, tourists are little more than a wallet.

The hostel is located in downtown where most of the cheap restaurants are. It is within walking distance to the museum and Go bus station. Islamic Cairo is about an hour walk from the hotel. The hotel is located on the second floor of an old building. The owner also has another hotel for Egyptians tourists on the 6 floor. Sometimes guests get moved to the other hotel which was what happened to us on the first night. The place itself is clean and tidy. The staffs are helpful and courteous. 👍

The good/okay part - good location in a busy street location and still quiet. Pickup from airport was offered for $15. Got a 4 bunk bed room for a private room/bath booking. Wanted payment in cash dollars. Offered free laundry. The bad/ugly part - any tour offered is overpriced, messy and chaotic. Was told the driver was the eng speaking guide Alexandria and wasn’t the case. Paid for a private car (for 2) to the pyramids with a guide only to get another person whose tour they messed up join.

It’s a quit hostel with friendly staff I felt home even I didn’t stayed much time there. Location is good it’s nearby everything, Only breakfast needs to get improved.

Recomendado! La atención del personal es muy buena. Me costó encontrar la entrada al edificio. Las camas cómodas.

I recommend the Merames Hostel because, in addition to its central location, which provides easy access to everything, it also has other advantages. It's very secure, has CCTV in the common areas, lockers in the rooms, is clean, and the breakfast is delicious. It has a friendly atmosphere, and the staff is very friendly, especially Mostafa, who is always happy to offer advice and help with transportation if needed. You can even leave your luggage for a few days. I highly recommend this place.

Gut, sauber und zentral gelegen zu einem guten Preis. Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr engagiert und freundlich und helfen einem bei allem was man braucht (Touren, Taxis Tipps zu Attraktionen. Danke an Abdallha und Team für die gute Zeit in Kairo.

Perfecto todo! Manga y el resto del equipo fueron excelentes! Desayuno muy muy bueno, y la ubicación espectacular. Camas súper cómodas, duchas excelentes. Lo recomiendo!!

Great location and staff. Abdullah and Manga in particular were very helpful. Offers everything you need and right in the center of town. Really good breakfast.

Exceptional Experience Beyond Expectations My stay at Miami Hotel Cairo was absolutely delightful! The staff was incredibly attentive, ensuring every need was met with professionalism and a smile. The location is ideal, with easy access to Cairo's vibrant attractions, making it perfect for exploring the city. Breakfast was a highlight – fresh, delicious, and served with great care.

More of an old hotel than a hostel. Owner is very nice and wants to help. Location is great real close to old Egyptian museum. Plenty of food choices around with nightlife outside people sitting outside restaurants and Hookah smoking.

The experience overall was amazing, all thanks to Abdallah, who was really helpful and made sure we get the best out of our tour and made things available to us, the lady made some great breakfast and was very helpful throughout, definitely recommended, the location is very centred as well

We really liked our stay at Miami Cairo Hostel! All the people working there were so nice and welcoming. Abdallah did his best to make our time in Cairo unforgettable. He picked us up from the airport, brought us to the pyramids and gave us a lot of tips. Thank you for everything!!

10/10. First I will say, if you are looking for a hostel to meet and party with backpackers- this is not the place for you. But if you’re looking for an authentic experience to see the real Egypt, this is the place to do it. I ended up doing everything on my own with some recommendations from the workers here. In the mornings and evenings I found myself hanging out with the workers in the lobby and talking to them about their lives, asking questions about Egypt, etc. I will stay here again!

I strongly recommend this hostal if you come to Cairo! Staff were all so welcoming i felt like at home. They are very human, funny and will be everytime ready to help you in any way and taking care of you. The room was quite confortable and if something more is needed they will arrange to get if for you. The Abdallah is very down to earth and careful with travelers as he was himself a backpacker and travelled for so many years. That's why this hostal gave me good vibes.

Great 1-night stay before my tour! Abdallah's hospitality was exceptional, with a fantastic home-cooked breakfast included. Everything was clean & there was good WiFi, lockers, and a hot shower. Secure building with elevator & balcony for laundry (quick-drying!). Common area was basic, and social atmosphere nonexistent, but that's Cairo. Not ideal for solo travelers (few other travelers and no activities happening). Minor suggestions: shelves near outlets & curtains for beds. Highly recommend if...

Abdallah es un estupendo anfitrión, es muy cordial y te hace sentir como en casa! El hostel está muy bien situado , cerca de museos y el centro de la ciudad! Cómo todo el cairo es demasiado seguro!

Regarding to the good reviews i wanted to give it a go and i can tell afterwards that this hostel really deserves those good marks. The staff is so nice and caring and offers to help for anything i might need to enjoy more my stay in Cairo. For having already been in another place 2 weeks before, i realize more how the facilities, the building here are much better, especially considering the very competitive price. Thank you Abdullah for your kindness and everything.

I had an amazing time at Miami Cairo Hotel. The room was clean, the common area was very cosy and great for socializing, the staff friendly and above all, the hospitality of Abdullah is unmatched. He offered drinks regurlarly, made us try koshari, a typical egyptian dish, and was so helpful for everything.

We really enjoyed our stay here! Great location, the staff are incredibly kind, and the beds are comfortable. We had a little balcony and enjoyed sitting out there having tea. If you’re not paying close enough attention, you can miss the entrance to the building, but once you enter the building you take the old elevator up to the 2nd floor and the hostel is on your right. We will be staying here again when we return to Cairo :)
