What’s great: The staff is amazing, really helpful and nice :) They do organize activities, so good for connecting. Some „downers“ with regards to the facilities / location: no toilet paper at all in the restroom. Not all Bathrooms/showers did properly lock. Showers not always hot. In one of the showers there was the same worn underwear/towel lying for three days. Road to the hostel super bumpy, you need to be a bit confident with the scooter to manage that.

One of my favourite hostels. It felt like a home. The staff welcome you with open arms.

Overall it's a good hostel, the only downsides are the road that leads to the hostel- a tuk-tuk would take you extra for this, and the fact that you NEED a scooter otherwise you're gonna feel left out since all the day activities involve a scooter

One of the best hostels I have stayed at. Very social and always have activities going on. Staff and volunteers are very friendly- shout out berna. Definitely recommend staying here. Rooms are nice- although they sleep 18 people, you can still get a good nights sleep.

Great staff and amazing activities! Yhe perfect stay if you're looking for a social hostel! In terms of comfort, it wasn't the best - very loud at night due to the 18-bed dorms, not super clean restrooms, not always hot showers and you need to bring your own toilet paper and even pay for filtered water.

Unique vibe in this hostel. The staff were very welcoming and the atmosphere near the common area was very pleasant. Think the only minor downside for me was the layout in the dorms, as the sink was in the open. If you get in late/get up early people may get woken up from the light and noise. The hostel also has a yoga deck and a cafe, pretty cool.

Don’t recommend this hostel, the reception staff (apart from the one male) we’re so rude when me and my friend asked for towels we were treated like we committed a crime , the rooms are so open with no privacy in an 18 bed dorm. The toilets smell so bad and clearly do not get cleaned just an incense burning through the day which hardly masks the smell of piss, when I left all my clothes smelt from the room, the road to the hostel is a hazard in itself, it’s so dangerous especially when it ...

This hostel’s saving grace were the activities organised by a volunteer. Other than that there was a lack of social space (only space is reception which they close at 12pm), it is isolated down a lane that is so flooded and bumpy that Tuk Tuks refuse to go up it, the shower is a cold hose, there are loads of cockerels that wake you up at 5am and the cafe is only open in the early morning. An 18 bed dorms is unsleepable with no curtain and privacy.

Heard such great things about this hostel and unfortunately it was a let down. It's a trek just to get in and out of the hostel since it's not along a main road. The paths to get to it are muddy, massive potholes filled with water and it's just annoying to come and go, especially if it's dark. NO TIOLET PAPER...such a joke. That's a basic need in accommodations and we pay enough. They tried thier best to organize social activities but truly just no vibe ever in the main area. Choose elsewhere!

We wouldn‘t choose this hostel again. First of all, the road to get there is horrible. It‘s like 300m off-road and there are super deep puddles. It‘s so hard to get there with the scooter and it’s also very dangerous, especially when it’s dark. We luckily only stayed 2 nights. If we were supposed to stay longer, we would have definitely switched hostels. Other than that, they don’t provide toilet paper (?), which I find weird. Also, they make you pay for water, which no other hostel ...

Hiraya hostel felt like a home. It was very comfortable and after a week of staying there I didn’t want to leave. The road into the hostel is tricky, but if you can get over that your stay will be great with nice accommodation, facilities, and awesome staff

we booked to stay for 4 nights and the hostel itself is nice and clean but the entrance to the hostel is up a long side road that is impossible to walk through as the road is completely flooded and inaccessible. we had to leave after one night which was a shame because if the road was better we would have stayed. the walk is around 0.5 mile and you have to walk up to your knees in mud/water. really nice place but just impossible to get to and quite far out from the main town - around 15 mins.

One of the best Hostels i have ever stayed in. Amazing staff, lots of cool people and everything is clean and cozy. Lots of activities every day and good wifi. The bumpy road to get there might be annoying but its worth it 🥰 Thanks to you guys !

The most Social hostel I’ve ever been to. The volunteers and the staff does a great job to make everyone feel included if they want to with different daily activities. Really recommend staying here if visit Siargao.

Hiraya family made me feel home while being away from home. They are so kind and welcoming, helping out whenever I needed. The hostel is a perfect combination of social and chill. It's easy to meet new people, with activities every day. Also the weekly family dinners are an experience you should not miss out on! The rooms are spacious and clean with all the comfort that you need and the cafe has great food options for a good price. I will definitely stay at Hiraya again on my next visit to Siarg...
