Rick's Hostel Juayua

Multiple people got foodpoising in this hostel while not eating the same good. After a visit to the docter we found out that these are bacterial infections and even a parasite!!! Do not book if you want to ruin your trip

Strange vibes - unclear who worked there and who were friends of staff. Beds were very cheap and uncomfortable. En-suite bathroom was also shared with another dorm which meant they frequently locked the door and forgot to unlock it. No water for most of our stay. Lots of rubbish left around by other guests, dirty plates/tables. Felt a bit like a frat party. Waterfalls tour was a positive and would recommend.

Poor value for money. Scooters and 7 Waterfalls Hike are both much better (and cheaper in the case of the waterfalls) if you go to other providers directly rather than through the hostel. Only one toilet (and shower, in the same room) per dorm and none in the shared space so you can be waiting ages for a toilet. Poor quality bed which all dip in the middle. Not sure where all the great reviews are coming from tbh.

nice.staff, but it could be more cleaned and the vibe of the place is a little off. Schooters for rent are often broken and the staff has never done any of the tours that the hostel offers and when they sell you a tour ks obviojs that thamey have no idea

stay was ok. weird vibes and don‘t do laundry there … they lost my stuff and everything came back as darty as is was before. also bed are very laid through.

Cheap hostel, cheap experience. Cockroaches in the shower, ants in the beds. Water was not working for a day. Bathroom doors are sometimes locked for hours from other rooms… Signed up for the waterfalls tour, only to show up in the morning to find out they cancel it last minute. Also you cant pay with card, although the site says so.

A bit outdated and not very clean. They organize a lot of activities for the people staying in the hostel, which is nice. However, silent time was not taken seriously.

Nice hostel (clean, nice rooms, lots of areas to lounge in common areas - although wasn’t the most social when we were staying there) Got my laundry done here and it did some back with some stains, but aware that’s always a risk. Street was really loud at night, earplugs were a must!!

We booked the private room for privacy, but didn’t offer real privacy. The Window opens toward the community area and can't be closed for real. So you can hear everything, fortunately it was a calm night. The private bathroom was spacious, the shower had good pressure AND warm water(yay!), but with water leaking into to room.

Decent hostel in Juayua! It’s a fairly small hostel so you can get to know most people staying. It was easy to book the 7 waterfalls tour through the hostel. 2 downsides would be the lack of bathrooms meaning you often have to wait a long time to use one, and the volunteers who were pretty rude and unhelpful. Permanent staff were lovely though!!

I absolutely loved my time at the Ricks Hostel. The have commun areas with hammocks, big garden, pool table, couches and even a Switch where you could play on. The beds had privacy curtains and the shared kitchen was adequately equipped. I really enjoyed the Bornfire night a lot, everyone at the Hostel was so so nice. I would recommend everyone to do the 7 waterfalls hike i had incredibly much fun and Caramelo was the cutest dog ever.

Super cool people

Just amazing people in a beautiful small town with a lot to do. We did something almost every day, explored the waterfalls, hotsprings and bars. Also great for chill days

The vibes here were good, had a nice outdoor space with some hammocks and greenery. Although, the bedrooms were hot and could definitely had used some fans like the other ricks we stayed at. Only one washroom in each room with 8 people which wasn’t awesome. Great location though, close to the food market which is a must visit! Easy booking for the 7 waterfalls hike.

Such a lovely hostel, the staff is so so so nice and the location is perfect. Highly recommand ! Way better than Rick's Hostel in Santa Ana :)

Its a very social Hostel good if you want to party or meet people. The receptionist were very attentive and answered our questions in detail. The moto bike are nice for going up the mountain. The beds are comfy but a bit squeaky. And the common areas are not the most comfortables. but the location just around the cornor from the free atm and the main square is nice

favorite place in El Salvador, great energy from the staff and volunteers, I loved the vibes and the activities, looking forward to visit them again 😬

I booked 2 nights and ended up with 7. It's a very lovely place where you can either chill and meet people. Everyone was super nice and kind and the rooms were very comfy.

Boendet ligger bra till och de som jobbar där är väldigt trevliga och hjälpsamma! De fixar så man kan göra turer under flera gånger om dagen och kommer med många tips. Rummet är bra, sängarna är ganska sköna och man har eget uttag däremot är det få badrum för antalet sängar. Bra tryck i duschen och bra värme!

Nice, but probably would choose a different plave next time. Dorm smells (especially during the night) because there is no airflow/fan. Only 1 Toilet/shower per room, which also has no airflow. Garden area doesnt look as in pictures. A bit confusedabout who works there and who is just friends of workers/volunteers

Pretty good. Wasn’t the cleanest, especially the kitchen. And no ac in the dorms. But good other than that. Pretty social, showers had good pressure, and really enjoyed the 7 waterfalls tour through them.

Great spot to spend a couple nights while exploring the Ruta de las Flores. They rent scooters but the first one I got had a broken/missing mirror, and the second one ran terribly and shut off on me a few times. Maybe rent from somewhere that has newer scooters. The waterfalls hike was only $10, super cheap and a fun time. The outdoor area was nice to relax in the hammock.
