Halo Bay Homestay

The family are friendly but the room and bathroom were not very clean. For the hot water you have to flip a switch and wait 10 minutes but we weren't told that when we checked in. The shower gel and shampoo dispensers were empty. There was only a bar of soap with hairs on it. Breakfast was nice. They booked a bus for Ninh Binh for us but I think they may have overcharged us, because we paid 400k VND each but other people on the bus paid 300k for the same journey.

Nice Homestay with a friendly host. It is in the non tourist area of halong bay, which was nice. There are bicycles available for free to explore. The host upgraded me to a private room as the hostel was quiet, and the room and facilities were great. Hien sent me lots of great info on WhatsApp also. For a peaceful safe few nights in halong, this was perfect. Thank you Hien!

Says it has 24/7 reception but arrived at 4am with gates locked,They didn’t charge us when we arrived and there was never anyone at reception to pay however they messaged us quite rudely saying we needed to pay right now(9pm) then came to our door asking too! The owner also messaged me about 10 times trying to get me to buy multiple things. Overall ok hostel but ruined by rude hosts

I loved this hostel. Everyone was so nice and accommodating. We only stayed for one night but I would’ve loved to stay longer.

Cannot vouch for the dorms, as we were upgraded to a private room. But the room was really nice. It was cute, clean, and comfortable! The host Hien was very helpful in giving us info about the area and booking tours. The only negative was the location. We only stayed 2 nights here but the direct area doesn’t seem to be close to much and was hard to find restaurants to eat (within walking distance). You would have to have a motorbike to be able to go anywhere.

Our stay at Halo Bay was fantastic! It was so nice to meet Hien and her family. The room was very clean and cute with updated curtains for privacy and it was in a great area of town to explore more of the local side rather than the tourist area! We loved the family dinner with them and the food was delicious! Breakfast was also amazing as well. If you are looking for a great authentic experience this is a great place to stay!

Wir hatten eine richtig tolle Zeit dort. Sehr familiäre Atmosphäre. Uns konnte uns bei allem weiterhelfen. Leider waren wir etwas krank aber die Dame von dem Hostel hat uns extra eine vietnamesische Spezialität gekocht (Congee) damit es uns besser geht. Alle sehr lieb dort

I had a wonderful time at Halo Bay Homestay! Thu and her family are so incredibly kind and helpful, and their family dinners are amazing! The facilities and room were very clean and nice. The location is in a bit more of a residential area, which can be a plus if you’re looking for a less touristy experience.

I love my stay here it was sooo lovely. Nice atmosphere clean and very friendly staff. Had tea with the family it was lovely and an amazing food. Quiet atmosphere for a chilled stay. Fully recommend

The generosity and kindness of this host made our trip to halong bay unforgettable. So kind. Offered us home cooked authentic food for 100k, offered us tours of halongs markets, temples and villages, helped us book a boat tour of the islands. The rooms were so cute and comfortable, food was delicious. Wonderful host, your trip will be better if you stay with her !

Our stay at Halo Bay Homestay was enjoyable. The friendly staff warmly welcomed us. Booking the Ha Long Bay boat tour was convenient and comfortable. The tour was fascinating, with impressive caves and small islands. The next day, we took a city tour with the family, visiting Ngân Hàng TMCP Tempel and a local market. My first visit to Ha Long Bay and Vietnam was unforgettable thanks to the amazing ladies at Ha Long Bay Homestay. They welcomed us with warmth, cooked delicious meals and shared their culture through local tours and stories. The room was spotless, the AC ran 24/7 and I felt completely at home. Had a lovely stay at Halo Bay Homestay. Hien and her family were very welcoming and friendly, cooked some delicious food and took me to an amazing temple with views across Ha Long Bay. Comfortable bed and clean room. Would highly recommend and definitely stay again.

The owners are really nice and will help you out with whatever. He gave me 2 rides to my destinations. Hostel is nice and quiet, the bunk beds are comfortable. You can even use their bicycle!

The family was really nice and always ready to help. We were the only ones there so it was real quiet.

Một hostel tuyệt vời, chú Quảng ít nói nhưng chú rất nice. Anh em tôi đi chơi đến 1-2h sáng mới về gọi nhờ chú mở cửa cổng, tuy mất giấc ngủ nhưng chú vẫn vui vẻ. Phòng tốt, đẹp, sạch sẽ gọn gàng.
