The One Hostel & Rooftop Bar Catba

The pool was green, entire dorm smelt like sewage, you could hear mice running around all night. I even had a mouse run over my legs while in bed and a mouse chewed through my backpack to get into snacks I had in my bag. There is now a hole. The construction outside ruins the view. Wouldn’t recommend staying here.

The staff were so completely disorganized. They changed my final bill 3 times, and 2 days I never received the breakfast and coffee I ordered. Not to mention the rats and roaches we saw. Would not recommend

swimming pool is closed, no rooftop and there is a massive construction all over the hostel hat makes a lot of noise. after 1 night u decide to keave to another hostel

Het hostel zelf was prima en bed lag goed. Echter werden we snachts wakker van veel geluiden, dit bleken later MUIZEN te zijn aangezien ik zag dat ze spullen in mijn tas hadden aangevreten (medicatie en snoepjes). Dit gemeld bij het hostel. Hopelijk doen ze er iets aan.

The AC in my room was leaking, they say free breakfast but the only free thing is a pot of tea of maybe 1L made with 1 tea bag no coffee and nothing to eat. The rooftop was close for 2 of the 3 sunsets I wanted to enjoy. The location is nice and the personal could smile a bit more. I usually don't leave bad reviews but I was disappointed by this place...

staff were nice enough. the room smelled like damp, i think from the AC. they say their view is unimpacted by the construction but its really not, however this will be the same for all of the hostels and hotels around as the new building are at the very front of the shore. the cave dinner was unavailable and there were no yoga classes. both fine but they should have updated their description, as both were reasons i chose this hostel over others. not very transparent and a bit misleading.

Horrible mould smell in our room. This is not healthy and it should really be fixed. When we addressed it they sent someone to spray air freshener in the room lol. Constant yelling in the hallways, loud music, elevator makes noise all day and night which was incredibly annoying. Most of the staff is not friendly. How this hostel has a rating of 9.2 I really don’t understand. Positives: The staff is very friendly and the beds are comfy. Negatives: The view from the rooftop is literally just looking at a noisy construction site. Our first dorm had a really bad smell and a moldy ceiling. Got upgraded to a private twin room, with a broken tap and bugs in the bathroom. The laundry service is really bad, sent my clothes back twice and they were still dirty. Met 2 others that also said they had moldy dorms.

The room smelled sooooo bad like old mold and poop. My sheet was full of stains. Also the staff was very unfriendly. Especially the lady from the reception in the morning with the glasses and breakfast girls. Also breakfast is not good. They just don’t care about their customers. Really recommend NOT to stay here.

Great stay! The One Hostel has a super friendly vibe, clean rooms, and helpful staff. Perfect place to meet other travelers and relax. Good location and great value for money. Would definitely stay again

Good gaff

I stayed two nights in a mixed dorm. The beds were spacious and soft! Nice, large lockers. The highlight was the friendliness and pleasant atmosphere of the staff! Tina was always ready with a smile to answer your questions! She beat me several times during a fun game of pool in the lobby :) Thanks for the fun and lovely stay!

Tina was super nice and helpful! We loved chatting with her, also she speaks English very well. We‘re happy to come back someday :)

Great hostel in a great location, we didn’t use the rooftop bar or hot tub but it looked nice! It’s a shame about the view being obstructed by construction but you can still see the water from the rooftop. Staff were friendly although service was sometimes a bit slow for drinks. This hostel was social but not party which we preferred!

Good hostel. Hot tub is nice. NOTE the rooftop doesnt have the same view of ocean as construction of new building infront blocks it. Good and clean though.

Mon séjour a été top, l’emplacement est bien situé, on peut manger et boire directement dans l’auberge tout est à disposition. Le petit dej est compris, les matelas sont très confortables. Je recommande !

Staff went above and beyond to help me retrieve items that I left at the hostel. Very helpful and a good location in catba. Booked the boat day trip through the hostel and had a good experience.

Great location, staff were helpful & accommodating, rooftop is so nice to sit up day/night. We booked a few things through the hostel which was smooth & easy. Can get quiet in the evenings but there are plenty of places around the hostel to go to. Recommend if you want a quite night sleep but still be close to the bars & restaurants

Reading through previous comments made me cancel my booking once. But fortunately I decided to give it a try anyway (also because my experience with another well-known hostel in the area was under my expectations). And, my God, to be totally honest, my experience here is more than expected: rooftop can be accessed all the time, amazing jacuzzi, rooms are clean, beds are super comfy, towels are free and smell very nice. And the best is the staff at the bar: they are among the best, very accommoda...

I’m sure this place would be great but it’s right next to the construction site. Next to no atmosphere during our stay. The breakfast included is nothing compared to The One hostel in Hanoi. The staff were fine until we were trying to checkout but there were no staff anywhere to be seen. Had to wait 30mins for someone to give me back my passport and almost missed my bus back to the mainland.

Vorab: Wir können nur von dem Privatzimmer sprechen. Das war echt unangenehm. Kein echtes Fenster, schlimme Beleuchtung, wirrwar an nicht beschrifteten Lichtschaltern und schaltern die für das Beheizen des wassers. Die Dusche hatte überhaupt keinen Druck. Kommunikation war zum teil auch schwierig da der Mitarbeiter den man über WhatsApp erreichen konnte überhaupt nicht im Hotel saß. Die MitarbeiterInnen an der Rezeption waren allerdings hammer und das Frühstück hat auch sehr gut geschme...

We had the best time in catba! The staff was very friendly and tried to help all the time to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The rooms were great and the rooftop had such a great vibe. I loved the free yoga classes every morning:)
