You Empire Hostel and Bar

- I contacted the hostel before our arrival and they never answered the questions I asked. The place was dirty, the wifi connexion was terrible in the room, towels were not provided.

- Smelly room… probably mould. Would not recommend for your health.

- Etablissement pas tres propre Acceuil indifférent Pas de petit déjeuner possible et rien autour pour en avoir un.

- DO NOT BOOK BUS THROUGH THIS HOSTEL. we stopped at bus stop and they told us to go coffee whilst we wait and when we got back they had gone through our bags and took money from us!

+ Abend vorher um 18 h wurde wegen überbuchung das Zimmer storniert. Fällt früh auf. War wohl mehr Geld zu verdienen am nächsten Tag

- Staff weren’t very welcoming when we arrived. We were lead up to our room and the whole foyer area leading up to the room smelt of damp, dog and had a musty smell. When we got to our room - which was relatively clean, as was the bathroom - we noticed that the air-con unit was leaking on to the counter top and was also draining in to the bathroom. The bed sinks in the middle and is uncomfortable. The bathroom had a sink hanging off the wall with a sign telling us to not lean on it. The pressure from the taps was non-existent and when in use this awful drainage/sewage smell came from the plug hole. The private room that we stayed in needs updating and needs to be more warm or welcoming for guests. The foyer socialising area was dimly lit and had no atmosphere. It had a pool table, but the felt was damaged. In the photos there are pictures of tables where people socialise. These aren’t there anymore and have been moved to the back side room and have been replaced with cheaper looking tables. There is a massive air-con unit in the foyer but it isn’t in use. The whole room gets so stuffy and hot due to there being no air flow. The doors to the building had to be constantly kept shut for the owner’s fear that their dog would run away, (hence the smell of dog in the foyer). The outside seating area is covered but there are flies EVERYWHERE. Washing down the patio could easily solve this problem. Looking at the pictures of the hostel, you could see that at one point it was a buzzing place to be and was constantly busy - however this isn’t the case anymore. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all - unless a stop over is a must, but you can find better places to stay elsewhere. Really, I would just avoid Pakse altogether.

- There were mice in our room Smell of drains upon flushing was horrific Whole ground floor (beyond the lobby) and first floor smelled like a public bathroom No space to install mosquito net

+ Nous avons passé une nuit pour ensuite faire la boucle , nous avons laissé nos sac et pu louer un scooter avec du carburant.

- Le personnel ok , malheureusement les clients de passage que nous avons croisé n’étaient pas avenant trop individualistes .

+ Very chill hostel in a good location, staff were lovely and very helpful! Spacious room and aircon was decent! Breakfast was simple but enough, just have to buy your own coffee. Overall good value for what we paid!

- The bed was slightly hard but not too bad for a short stay

+ Spacious room with balcony. It was clean and was more than good enough for a couple nights.

- Felt a bit soulless, nothing special and wasn't offered the free breakfast.

+ Die Lage ist gut. Das Frühstück ist nichts besonderes aber ok. Der Aufenthaltsraum ist nett. Personal war sehr freundlich

- Die Sauberkeit könnte in den meisten orten verbessert werden. In unserem Zimmer hatte es überall Haare und es roch schlecht. Die gemeinschts Badezimmer waren nicht sehr sauber.

+ Sehr nettes personal Frühstück ist nicht speziell aber gut Netter Aufenthaltsraum

- In unserem Zimmer lag etwas am boden das von Ameisen zersetzt wurde. Es roch schrecklich im Zimmer

- No hot water, neither in men or women shower.

+ Nettes Hostel, alles was man braucht.

- Definitiv etwas in die Jahre gekommen, teilweise ungepflegt, Flecken an den Wänden. Könnte wieder etwas Zuwendung vertragen.
