One of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed at! Suguru was exceptionally friendly, helpful, and warm toward all the guests. The atmosphere was very pleasant, and several nights we shared dinners as guests. One evening, Suguru even taught me how to make my favorite Japanese dish! Everything was exceptionally clean and beautifully designed. If you’re arriving by bus it's best to plan ahead and check all the schedules in advance. I had such a wonderful time at Årc – I‘m so sad having left now that I’m already planning on coming back. The atmosphere was so calming, the whole area and building beautiful. Fellow travelers were very sweet and social during my stay, we shared several meals together in the common kitchen. Suguru was such a kind and helpful host, he even showed me how to cook a special recipe one night. If you are relying on buses, prepare yourself well ahead of time, since the hostel is a bit further aw...

Beautiful property! I recommend renting a car to get around the island, parking at ARC was easy. Great stay and wonderful place!

The place is amazing, location is fantastic, Suguru the host is a lovely person who makes the best coffee on the island and is very helpful suggesting amazing spots and giving valuable advice on where to go! Would surely stay there again when I visit Yakushima for the second time, which is inevitable because the island is a dream!
