HI San Francisco Downtown Hostel

- The hostel was grimy. Dirty showers, toilets and carpets all around. Also, no social atmosphere - most guests seem to be there for work or conferences, so common spaces are taken over by people on zoom calls or working on their laptops. No events within the hostel to meet other people. And on top of that, the staff is very stand-offish and unhelpful. Generally, a miserable experience.

+ Como único punto positivo a destacar del alojamiento diría La Ubicación. El resto todo negativo.

- DECEPCIONANTE. CALIDAD-PRECIO PÉSIMA. El personal de la recepción, en general súper desagradables. Concretamente una chica rubia, un día se me olvidó abrir con la llave la puerta de acceso al hostel, y me tuvo que abrir, a lo que de inmediato me empezó a gritar preguntando ¿Y tu llave dónde esta?. Otro chico también intenté preguntarle por indicaciones para coger el transporte publico, a lo que me contestó, ahí tienes el cartel yo no se nada, lo puedes leer. Después los enchufes no conectan bien, se cae el cargador de lo desgastados que están. Pedí una solución a lo que me dijeron que no podían hacer nada. La limpieza 2/10. El hostel huele fatal, a humedad. Esta muy antiguo y con mal aspecto. Las habitaciones están sucias, me dio un ataque de alergia por el polvo. Las camas incomodísimas. El colchón parece/es una colchoneta hinchable y los cojines de papel. El baño parece de la 2a guerra mundial, y el agua caliente funciona a ratos. Esta 0% insonorizado y se oye toda la calle, motivo por el cual, debido al mal aislamiento hace mucho frío en la habitación. Solo había un radiador el cual intenté conectar y no funcionaba. Tampoco me dieron solución para variar. Destacar, que menos mal que estuve sola en la habitación, si llegamos a ser 4 es imposible arreglárselas ahí. Habitación minúscula. No repetiré nunca.

- I drove for 2 hours. Hours to get to San Francisco i knew it was going to be hard to stop the car to check in. after stopping the car, i got into the hostel. and had two people in front of me checking in. then asked for permission for the front desk guy. and asked if there was a bathroom that i could use as i was in a lot of need to go to the bathroom. then, the front desk guy said that there was no bathroom. i already at the front desk said: IF there is NO BANHEIRO, CANEL MY RESERVA. then he with the same angry face and without empathy and joy said there was a bathroom on the upper floor. i ran up so i could pee, and when i got upstairs it had no easy identification of where the bathroom was. so i was looking for the bathroom and without finding i pee in my pants. very pee, i got all wet. totally missing the magic of being in San Francisco, because of the lack of education and kindness of a person from the reception. it is sad to see a person who works with Hospitality, with reception of guests and not knowing how to be cordial and kind to the guests themselves and clients. i had to wear another pants to go out in San Francisco. the pants that was not hot for the night and that i had booked for the Sunday morning. very sad and upset with this situation and extremely dissatisfied with the service of the Hostel. all on account of a bathroom.

- L immeuble est en travaux , nous avions pris une chambre pour 2 avec Sdb pour 5 jours , À partir de 7h du matin vous entendez grattez à votre fenêtres , les ouvrier passés devant la fenêtre et cela pendant 5 jours Je déconseille fortement en tous cas cette année car les travaux ne font que commencer

- The place was extremely old and dirty and full of sick or shady people. There was no air condition or fan and the room smelled really bad. The place was located near the skid row, so one has to be careful which areas he walks into, especially at night. Also, they lied about available parking. There is no parking and you have to pay out of your own pocket to park across the street and it is going to cost you as much as your room. Overall, I would not recommend it to anyone, unless there are no other options.

- Stanno facendo dei lavori su una piccola parte della facciata, se hai la sfortuna di avere la camera proprio in quella zona non hai la possibilità di aprire le finestre che sono state tutte coperte, quindi siamo stati 3 giorni praticamente murati in una camera umida e buia! NON DOVREBBERO VENDERLA o comunque avvisare del disagio e farla pagare molto meno qualora l’ospite sia in accordo! ho prenotato 4 mesi fa e non mi è stato mai detto nulla! PESSIMA ESPERIENZA!

+ very cozy building, multiple floors so it does not feel crowded. shared bathroom and common areas were always clean.

- Shared dorm room can get stuffy since the ventilation system is lacking in an old building.

- I've stayed at a bunch of HI Hostels in Canada, so I'm totally gonna compare them to this one. The room was super dim, and the lights kept flickering. The carpet felt like it needed a good scrub. The bathroom door wouldn't close right. I even saw spiders in the bathroom and by my bed! And get this, no fans anywhere, not even a little table fan. It was kinda hard for me to sleep since I always sleep with a fan on. Honestly, I booked this place because the other HI hostels were so lively with events and a social scene. This San Francisco Downtown one just didn't have that vibe. I was expecting something different and didn't get that same hostel joy. The biggest bummer was the construction outside. I couldn't open the windows or see the street, so I felt totally cooped up whenever I was in my room.

+ The staff was very friendly and helpful. The coffee available was nice and it was located exactly where I needed to be. Plenty of nearby dining options near by as well.

- I didn't like that my bedding was on my mattress but not prepared . I shouldn't have to put my sheets on myself . It was neither easy nor convenient being on the upper bed.

+ It was my first time staying at hostel in San Francisco and Hi Hostel Sanfrancisco was amazing stay.

+ Było bardzo czysto, naprawdę obiekt pod tym kątem spisuje się świetnie. Wspólne łazienki stale odświeżane, pokoje rozwieś codziennie sprzątane.
