Intermission Hostel

I have stayed in hundreds of hostels all over the world and this one was probably worst value for money. The 28 bed room is very tightly packed so you are sleeping very close to each other with no privacy curtains on very thin mattresses. There are only 3 toilets which is not enough for the number of people. No outlets anywhere near beds. The staff are nice but have no idea on how to get around and could not provide any helpful recommendations. Also did not like the Jesus quotes in the bathroom

Muito desorganizado. OVERBOOKED. Reservei duas noites e no sistema só tinha uma, tinha gente dormindo no sofá, em colchão no chão e em saco de dormir. Um gato do local subia nas camas. COMPARTILHAMENTO DE ROUPAS DE CAMA USADAS DE OUTROS HÓSPEDES. Possível transmissão de MONKEYPOX por esse motivo. Não tive coragem de ficar duas noites, paguei por duas, mas depois da primeira fui embora.

Overbooked. Had to sleep at the couch in the living room with the house cat and another guest. Noticed empty beds which were not used the next day. Extreme lack of respect and organization, no wonder the manager told me they would be closing soon. RIP Intermission.

Made a reservation a month in advance, showed up to find it was overbooked and had to sleep on the couch in the common area (for which they knocked a whole 35 nok off that night's fee). Communication with the management on cancelling the rest of the trip was unclear and unsatisfactory.

The staff were lovely and the location is convenient, but unfortunately the conditions are not very good. The large open dorm was not a nice environment and had a bad smell. Noise travelled easily. The cleanliness of the toilets and showers was poor, I didn't feel clean when I stayed here.

Showers were very dirty. No duvet but only a blanket, not sure if bedsheets had been washed. It is not clearly said in the description but it’s a Christian hostel, maybe someone would like to know this before hand. Rate goes up with location and nice common rooms.

Lovely staff and building with and old charm, and that’s about it. Disgusting showers, cleaner toilet, there’s no duvet so you use a blanket (not sure if washed every time), clean kitchen. Good for one night due to train station and city proximity.

Tiene un ambiente en el cual están colocadas las 24 camas (12 cuchetas) si te tocan las que están cerca de baños y duchas te va a molestar la luz y la pasada de la gente. Cocina equipada.. Cerca de la estación de trenes y a 1 km del centro.

Kan wel een onderhoudsbeurt gebruiken. Personeel was vriendelijk.

We had a nice stay. We met some really Kind people. Had good Soup. The Kitchen is well equipt. You are in the city center within a few minutes to walk. PS: we made it throuhh the NP. safe and sound:)

Ein wirklich tolles Hostel, um neue Freund*innen zu finden! Ein gemütlicher common room, eine voll ausgestattete Küche, mehrere Gemeinschaftsduschen und -Klos. Ein großer Schlafsaal, Licht geht aus um halb 11, danach kann man weiterhin im Gemeinschaftsraum bleiben :)) So tolle Erinnerungen gesammelt hier- vielen Dank!!

Best hostel ive ever stayed at, i made so many friends, the staff was so nice, always offering activities like get togethers with waffles, cake, etc. bible studies (which were very interesting even though im not religious) everyone is open and interested and so nice and respectful. also really clean! loved it there.🥰

very good hostel met tons of good people

This is a curious Christian hostel, managed by a charitable (female?) organization using the introits for various activites, even outside of Norway. The religious quotes scattered everywere around the building walls are indeed something I wasn't expecting, but no dogma of any kind has been forced upon me or my definitely atheist company, besides the request to please not watch a black metal concert on the gigantic TV, which was kindly asked and consequently kindly accepted. Io e i miei amici abbiamo soggiornato in questo ostello per tre notti durante una vacanza in Norvegia. I ragazzi che gestivano la struttura erano giovani e sempre disponibili per tutto. La cucina in comune non era troppo grande mentre le sale relax e i bagni erano sempre accessibili. Regarding the affiliation, Intermission hostel was full of surprises for me providing me with a life changing environment. A little paradise to taste the essence of humanity! Thank you! :) God bless you all! Amen!

I’ve never had a better hostel experience. The staff at Intermission have created something truly special here. I am now in the next city on my journey and I feel homesick for Bergen because of this place. I hope everyone has a chance in life to experience this place.

I felt at home and made some friends

Je ne peux que recommander cette auberge où tous les espaces sont faits pour rencontrer du monde ! Cuisine, espace de vie, soirée gaufre spéciales norvégiennes… on s’y sent comme chez soi :) N’ayez pas peur du dortoir de 28 couchages, il est très bien agencé et on y dort très bien !

This hostel was awesome. Late check-in was super easy, staff were super friendly and despite it being one giant 28 bed dorm, it actually didn't feel crowded. Mattress Was super comfy and hostel was clean. I was sad I was only there one night. I would stay here again

Only stayed one night. The location is great (10/15min to train station/center), the people working there were suuuper nice and the place is pretty clean. Didn't really like the big dorm they have with 10+ bunk beds which don't even have curtains. With earplugs and a sleeping masks it somewhat works but the mattress is pretty thin too.

Very nice atmosphere, kind staff, cosy living room with even a well tuned piano om which you felt Welcome to play.

We really enjoyed our stay with the welcoming atmosphere, open conversations and delicious cookies. Thank you very much!

This hostel was different because all of the employees are volunteers. They are there because they chose this. They actually care about the guests. It is a very relaxed atmosphere. There are 28 beds, and many common areas. My train arriver at 3am and they were able to help me out with my bed and greeting in a friendly manner. The kitchen has everything you need. It’s so close to the train station. I give them high marks. Not perfect, but the price was so low for Norway. Why not?

Great location about 15 mins walk from the harbor. The staff were very friendly and helpful, even cooking us waffles with brown cheese. Quite social and nice kitchen facilities, and free towels. One thing I didn’t like was that the beds did not have individual charging ports but instead there were power strips.

Overall good
