Nubian Hostel Athens

It was one of the worst experiences. The bed was infested with bugs, so I couldn't sleep. I had to throw away all my clothes because they were full of bugs.

I loved this hostel! I stayed at one other one while in Athens that was super nice- clean and cheap, but really far from the city and hard to meet people. Nubian is in an amazing location in a really cool part of Athens. There are tons of restaurants and coffee shops right outside the hostel and in general is in a very lively area. Rooms were clean and I found it very easy to meet people in the cute backyard patio and common lounge area, as well as in my room. Would 100% stay here again!

This hostel seems like a good place to socialize, but not to sleep. I took a private room because I'd flown a long way and just wanted to crash. To start with, it was wildly overpriced - a small old spartan room cost more than the beautiful hotel I later stayed at. Then there were other guests socializing (loudly) in the common area until after 2AM, making it near impossible to sleep. That may be what some people are after, but know what you are getting into beforehand.

Room for 6 women with a very small bathroom, very difficult to cohabit.

The atmosphere in this hostel was not good at all. We did travel in the off season so take it with a grain of salt. The location is okay if you want a more local vibe but i would rather stay closer to the city center. The showers are 2 feet x 2 feet very small. Free breakfast is basic free wine was nice

I stayed in the 6-bed room, which I really DO NOT recommend. The bathroom door was 20 cm from the bed, it was not possible to open the door and it was also very uncomfortable if you were in the top bed. That room should be for a maximum of 4 beds due to the space. The rest was OK.

The location is fantastic, horrible staff.

Kind of far from the city center and the metro to the airport is far which is really inconvenient. Had to take the train and then a bus and then walk with all my bags.. also the rooms are really small and doesn’t have enough ventilation for the 6 girls we were.

Bedbugs in multiple beds. Avoid.

Stayed two nights here. After the first night found bed bugs (summer of 2023). My bunk mate saw them as she was going to bed but didn't wake me so I didn't find out until the morning. I had to beg the people at the front desk to wash my clothes and belongings in case of bed bugs, which in my opinion should be a given. Didn't get any reimbursement for the first night, which I know they do at some other hostels. Moved me to a different room the second night. Facilities weren't super clean, but hap...

Cheguei de madrugada e o moço que estava na recepção não estava com muita paciência e demorou para abrir. Fora essa parte, o restante foi bom demais. Ambiente extremamente limpo, principalmente a cozinha. As demais pessoas que atenderam lá foram muito legais. O café da manhã é bem sim´ples com iogurte, cereal e café, acho que podiam especificar isso quando oferecessem, só pra termos uma noção. Apesar disso estava tudo muito bom. Foi uma ótima estadia.

Hostel sympa, les chambres pour femmes sont un peu petites et il y avait pas mal de bruit. mais sinon personnel au top et bon espace commun en bas :)

Nubian is in a very lively neighborhood, meaning there are plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants. It is a little cramped, but clean. Staff was helpful.

It was great only stayed for one night. Little far from the tourist area but great overall beds were fantastic

The hostel was really nice and the people working there super friendly and willing to help. The only problem was the bathroom of my female dorm which was kinda dirty, besides that, overall it was a good experience

Lo que me gustó más fue la ubicación, el barrio me encantó, y la limpieza. El personal es bastante majo.

Felt so safe as a solo female. Free breakfast was amazing and it was very quiet. Staff were very nice and the rooms were nice.

The Nubian is a clean, quiet, and efficient hostel. Kind of funky and quirky. The main knock would be the location. It's either a very long walk or a metro ride to the downtown core.
