Oasis Backpackers' Hostel Sintra Surf

There are bed bugs. Room 3. I got bitten all over a lot and now it continues to flare up 3 days on. I booked stay for 2 nights, but after being bitten I left after 1 night. Never ever will I stay again. Bathrooms in the dorms are not cleaned, cleaning staff came in, but didn't touch the toilet at all. Location and bars and music are nice, reception staff very nice.

If you want a place near the castles in Sintra, I DON'T RECOMMAND! The photos don't really represent the environment, I still don't even understand what this place was... there were kids and it was just sand on the ground (like a campground for kids) and in the back there was the hostel. No mirrors in the dorm/bathroom... The place is really isolated, it says 20 min in car but there is no service of Uber or taxi or Bolt so we had to take 2 buses to go there and the drivers did not even speak Eng...

Got an email before I arrived that the check-in desk was closing early. Arrived when it was dark and couldn’t find my key, this felt super sketchy and unsafe so I just went back to Lisbon, spent a lot on Uber rides… not cool

It is not really a hostel I would say it is a children's holiday camp with a large playground and some dormitories. However, it is not built like a normal hostel. The rooms are unfortunately very disorganised. There were a lot of things lying around from travellers who had already left weeks ago. There was no space for luggage. It doesn’t have the typical hostel feel, I believe the property is shared with some sort of family vacation / camping because majority of the people there were young families. This meant screaming children running around all day and into the night. Playground in the middle of the property and you have to walk across a sand pit to get to the hostel so the rooms are sandy. 30-40mins by bus to Sintra, 15min walk to the beaches

We rented a private room for 90.00. Clean but there were problems and this seemed overpriced. The bathroom had no ventilation and we saw speckles of mold in the ceiling. Inside is a bright ‘stairway’ light which we couldn’t turn off. We did a late check in and received the emailed instructions but they forgot to put our key in the box which delayed getting to our room. The food options at night are good and it’s a fun atmosphere.

Beach- 15 minute walk. Sintra- 20 minute to half an hour bus once an hour (hills make it necessary). I would not recommend staying here in winter. I was told by the staff that they only did laundry on Sundays and had no where to dry it. Can't even dry it in the room due to poor ventilation. I felt disgustingly grimey for days because of the condensation on everything as well. The light in my bunk flickered (epilepsy warning). I could not sit upright on the bottom bunk. Food selection was good.

Not really a backpackers. The location is a family resort with a aground at its centre. The joyful shrieks of children can be heard throughout the day and evening as they frolicking at high-speed through the seating area and housing units. Black mould covers the ceiling of at least two of their showers and their yoga studio. I was put in a room with a teenaged girl and I had to request a room without children resulting in staying in a room with their staff who themselves are friendly.

Sanitäranlagen sehr dreckig, ebenso die Küche sowie die Kühlschränke. Schwierig Leute kennenzulernen, da sich auf dem Gelände ebenfalls viele „Fremde“ aufhalten. Für Solo Traveller nicht zu empfehlen.

Fanecy place actually expensive for what it is : 35€ for a bed in a 6 mixt dorm. No cleaning, no open windows, one little light for the all dorm, electricity to charge phones did not work in half of the dorm and also the toilet did not work well ... Hopefully I was with super carefull people! The commun toilet was a disaster: full of p**, smally, with papers everywhere for 3 days. One small kitchen with only one fridge for the 10 bedrooms. Also I did not expect all those family and kids around...

Fui en temporada baja y me tocó un cuarto completo sola! Jajajaja. Estuvo bien solo que dio un poco de miedo. El hostal está súper bien ubicado, hay un súper y zona de comida a 100 metros de los cuartos, seguro en temporada alta es una locura!! 100% recomendado!

This place was really cool! It felt more like a commune than an hostel, which was amazing. 10-15 minutes from the beach, and so much place to chill at on the ground of the hostel! There is a supermarket on site, which is very nice because the place is far from everything. Staff very amiable. I would’ve loved a common area other than the kitchen tho, to sit inside and chill with people. Also, it’s says that they have washing machines… sadly, they don’t. But I loved loved the place.

Amazing hostel, loved the area and the atmosphere there - but the 8 bedroom was a bit barren and there was only one toilette and shower for eight people.

I feel like I had a privileged room despite being a 4 bed set up because I didn’t have to walk almost at all to go to the kitchen or bathroom. At the same time, I don't know. It is a larger property and I didn’t explore where I didn’t sleep. The energy of the hostel is open and the energy around the hostel gives a small village feel. Would recommend if you want a different hostel experience. Can definitely be invested in more to be cleaner and more comfortable. A cleaning service should be...

Loved the stay! Staff were so nice, rooms are tiny but mostly clean and there are foodtrucks,restaurants and a supermarket on the same area. Would come back!

Overall our stay here was good. The property is cool, with a cafeteria, restaurants, etc. This felt like a very family hostel (lots of kids). I wish the hostel organized activities like bonfires, games, etc. because it felt very hard to meet other travellers here. Also, we got to the property around 1pm thinking somebody would be present to put our bags away while we explored but we had to wait outside of reception until 3pm for reception to open. This sucked bc hostels usually let you do that.

I am so SO happy that I found this hostel last minute. It offers so much more than I anticipated from the grounds, to the restaurants, to the AMAZING supermarket. Location is incredibly set in between beautiful beaches. Staff member (Jose) had great recommendations and was very friendly. My only regret is that I did not stay longer. I will most definitely be back.

Great inexpensive vacation village. Rooms can get sandy but who cares. Kitchen is functional but could use new pans. Recommend buying / bringing a 1€ camping lighter for the gas stove as it's hard to light with the short lighters provided. Surf lessons for 35€ were fun. Nice hiking towards the South

We really enjoyed our time here, the bed was super comfy, bathroom well equipped and spacious, atmosphere was great so many food options and the staff were wonderful

El ambiente es bueno pero las habitaciones dejan mucho que desear, la limpieza es precaria y los baños no tienen ventilación, por lo que el olor que se acumula en los cuartos no estaba bueno. Los servicios dentro están muy buenos y completos.

Everything was wonderful! I think if the playground was slightly further away from the rooms it would have been heaven! The only thing I did not like were the screaming children. I get it though. The locals bring their kids there to unwind and let them play but all the kids scream and just go nuts. But the place has wonderful staff! So helpful!! And it literally has everything - kitchen to cook, restaurants if you don't, little store for stuff you need, yoga place, places to work, etc.

The only problem is the very loud street near by. At night it is more quiet. At the hostel there is a playground and a bigggg foodspot. The atmosphere is great. By day there are a lot of children. You can choose food out of several different small trucks, but it is not very cheap. There is everything you need.

Jai vraiment adorer la ville par contre l’auberge n’offre pas une sécurités 24/24 se qui manque légèrement. Je suis aller en basse saison et l’auberge étais complètement vide. Par contre très belle auberge, les dortoirs son super beau et les cuisine sont très bien équiper. De plus il y a un épicerie à coter de l’auberge
